What a nightmare! At the time of booking, communication witht the property manager was clear, courteous and welcoming. We received a poorly worded message notifying us of some "leakage" problem in the apartment hours before our international flight departed for London. An alternative apartment was offered for the first night which we immediately accepted as we had no choice. This is where all communication ceased. There was no confirmation via text, email or phone call providing new address details. Upon arrival in London we had no choice but to travel to our original booked accommodation hoping that the host would be there to greet us and to explain the situation. Our texts and phone calls went unanswered. It is only through the kindness of other rental occupants in the building that we were given a new phone number and eventually able to speak with the host. He had cancelled our accommodation as we were mid-flight. While we understand that property maintenance issues sometimes occur and while a refund was forthcoming, the treatment we received was nothing short of appalling. Our host washed his hands of us. A dreadful way to start our holiday!
