Romantic weekend in the trees

We had a fabulous time enjoying each other's company in this beautiful house. Everything was perfect, including the proprietor realizing I'd made a booking error and helping me correct it. If you want a quiet, peaceful, beautiful location to visit this is it.

Home away from home

We had a wonderful visit. It was nice to get away from DC for a few days. The house was perfect for us. I highly recommended this house.

Almost Heaven

This is an amazing property in Lost River. Modern, beautiful, and tranquil home nestled in the mountains of WV. A much needed trip to recalibrate in the perfect place to do it. Would definitely return. Host was very responsive and emailed us to make sure everything was great. Five stars all the way.

Perfect place to get away from it all!

We decided last minute to take a few days away from the hustle and bustle. We found the Hidden Hideway and it seemed like the perfect location for what we were looking for. Joseph was quick to respond to our request and was very accommodating. The cabin is literally at the top of the mountain and the views were stunning. The property has updated appliances, comfortable beds and exquisite bathrooms. Every detail was well thought out and there was everything you would need for a comfortable and relaxing vacation. Took advice from other reviews to try Lost and Found Pizza and were not disappointed! We definitely would recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy some peace and quiet in the mountains!

Perfection!

We had a hard time with the key lock. The owner called us right away and talked us through a plan B. The home was better than described in the listing. Clean, quiet, amazing property! There were thoughtful extras like specific makeup washcloths and personalized cookies. We enjoyed the fire pit, hiking, Uno, and Netflix. We will absolutely be returning but will bring warmer clothes and groceries. Close to home and away from reality. Perfect!

Gorgeous Appalachian Mountains and Snow

Lost River / City is a real treat of serene nature. We booked our stay to get away and enjoy the snow. We were lucky - the snow found us and my family had a full day of sledding and relaxing. The fireplace added the perfect touch while warming up. Everything was wonderful. The house is beautifully decorated and well stocked (loved that there was even coffee to use!) The only issue we had was the listing stated a hot tub (which maybe was a Vrbo glitch?) Notes / Recommendation for Visitors: Bring 4 wheel drive as the roads may not get plowed. We were lucky to get out with a bunch of shoveling and help from our host. The cabin in particular and most of the houses on this street had very narrow drives with little room to turn around. Lost and Found Pizza is awesome. Recommendation for the Host: - A decent cordless vacuum for the floor would be very helpful. - A wider variety of pillows for the beds would be nice. They were too thick for our liking

Couldn't Have Been Better

The property is truly lovely. As the pictures show, it is very modern and very clean. There is a large screened in porch where we hung out the most. The house would be perfect for a family or 1-2 couples on a getaway. Joseph, the host, is great! He is a great communicator. He has thought through many conveniences in the home and provided extra touches. Fresh flowers, yummy oatmeal cookies and gourmet coffee in the freezer. We stay at many short term rentals and this was the best overall stay. The surrounding area is just what we were looking for. Remote and unique. We got pizzas from the Lost River Pizza and Provisions and they were very very good. We went into Mooresfield for breakfast one day and had a great experience at the Sunset Diner. And last, we hiked the White Oak Trail up to the Cranny Crook Overlook (think that name is correct) and it was more than worth it! Moderate hike for stunning views of 5 counties. Enjoy your time in Lost River! You’ll be thankful you went.
