Five Star Luxury in the Country

We stayed for two glorious weeks in August. The quiet rural setting is paired with an architecturally striking house with huge windows- light and bright. The house is fully equipped with every comfort, including large flatscreen TV’s and stereo. Everything is super clean and updated. We enjoyed hours in the heated pool, in a beautiful setting with 6 lounge chairs and two huge umbrellas. We would highly recommend this beautiful country home to our friends and family. The whole experience was simple and smooth - no unpleasant surprises.

Month of Bliss

We rented this property for about a month October-November, and fell in love. The location is great, close to Washington Depot, Litchfield, Winvian and Steep Rock. Property has a nice secluded feel to it and is a wonderful place to spend time with friends and family. Loved our stay here and will definitely be returning. Hosts were amazing and incredibly responsive and accommodating.

Couldn't Ask For More

This modern, elegant house and serene property is the best we have ever rented, and if we could buy it we would. The house is exquisitely finished and well appointed. The pool is huge and set in the trees. The quiet is rejuvenating. The screened porch a winner every night for cocktails and a nosh. Bikes available for a ride, and local towns are fun to visit. A 5 star experience. Not one gripe! Paul

Stunning modern house with everything you need to feel right at home

This new, modern home on amazing grounds is also incredibly warm at the same time and loaded with everything you need for a wonderful stay. The chef’s kitchen has everything you need to make great meals. Never knew what a luxury two dishwashers could be. Made such a difference for large group cooking. Has gas bbq, charcoal bbq, and a smoker. Plenty of room for everyone to have privacy, while at the same time enjoying each other in the amazing open living room, dining room, kitchen, balcony and screened in porch. Screening room was great for watching sports and late night movies. Conveniently located to all this part of CT has to offer. Owner and manager were both incredibly responsive and helpful with lots of great recommendations. Everything you could want in a vacation rental property. We’ll be back.

Lovely home in the woods!

We've stayed in a lot of rental homes, but this was possibly the best furnished and most well appointed. The linens were top notch, and we were pleased to find the kitchen stocked with all the essentials. We took advantage of the lovely fireplace and even caught a swim in the pool, despite the cool fall weather. We hope to return sometime when it's a bit warmer! The home is tucked back in the woods down a dirt road, making it very quiet and secluded. Our kids were excited to see deer and other wildlife on the property. We found the location convenient to farms, hiking trails, restaurants and more.

Outstanding Home

This place is fantastic. My family and I spend a week here and we can't say enough great things about the property and home. The house is updated, open, comfortable, and clean. The pool is very large and my children loved using it everyday. The owner Lynette and the property manager Travis are very accommodating and responsive. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to spend some nice and relaxing time in the area. It is conveniently located to a few towns, yet peacefully set back on a quite road. Thanks for a great stay.

Lovely home, Lovely Area

We rented this home for a week over Christmas. The home was lovely and did not feel at all like a short term rental - finishings were high-end, home was very well maintained and anything you could need/want was on hand (from kitchen supplies / utensils to books, movies and firewood). The owner was very easy to work with and always responded promptly. I wish it were a bit closer to the city so we could rent long term!

Great stay in Litchfield Conneticut

We got out of the City for New Year's eve and had a lovely weekend retreat to this home in Washington CT. The home was lovely, well appointed and with a great cozy feeling. The kitchen was well positioned for the cook and the fire place and large common space were great for catching up with old friends. The owners are professional and easy to work with- you can tell they care deeply about both the property as well as sharing their home with visitors. We look forward to returning in the summer and enjoying the pool!

The perfect country home

My family and I stayed for a long weekend at this stunning home and could not speak highly enough about it. The setting is tranquil, the house is luxurious with quality fixtures and fittings throughout, and the convenience of being so close to NYC makes it almost irresistable. It was simply perfect. And the owners were most helpful and easy to deal with.

Family Holiday

VRBO rentals are a staple of our family holidays. We have stayed in more than 10 homes on two continents. This property provided the best experience we've had to date. It is exceptionally well-apponted, with wonderful furniture, kitchen and cooking accessories, a truly lovely, bucolic setting and thoughtful, accommodating owners. The house itself is beautifully designed and constructed with many fine architectural and finishing details. The bedrooms are all comfortable, with high-quality beds and linens. In short, this property makes you feel at home... in fact, often wishing it was your home! My only reluctance in so favorably reviewing the property is that it will be less available to us for our next holiday...

Fabulous country retreat

My family rented this home for 5 weeks last August. We fell in love from the first viewing. This house is not a typical rental. We liked to tell people that it felt more like a good friend's home than a rental. The furnishings, from the inviting sofas to the thick rugs were chic, modern and comfortable. The layout was thoughtfully designed. The first floor has an open kitchen that connects to a great room which encompasses the dining area and living room. I cook all the time and the kitchen was very well-equipped. There is also a top of the line grill on the deck off the kitchen along with a smoker. Other highlights include the screened in porch with both a dining table and a sitting area. We spent a lot of time lingering over meals out there. The heated saltwater pool was incredible. Not only beautiful but pure pleasure to swim in. Our kids took full advantage! It was also long enough for decent lap swimming. In addition there is a childrens playset on the property. We also appreciated the gym equipment on the lower level. They have a precor, a rowing machine (both in great condition) and a tv to watch while you work out. I shouldn't forget the screening room with a huge flat screen tv and comfy seating. We had such a good time that we decided to rent the home throughout the winter and just finished up after a grand total of 5 months. The owners couldn't be more helpful and were available whenever we needed them. Washington is a sweet little sleepy village. In town don't miss the Pantry for lunch, Marty's for coffee, and the GW Tavern for a casual dinner. There are great hikes nearby, and farms everywhere. We picked blueberries, strawberries and apples. We also found some great local lakes to swim in and lots of other secret spots like the Arethusa ice-cream store in Bantam owned by the Manolo Blahnik guys. We loved this home and couldn't give a stronger recommendation. The screened in porch off the living room was a favorite hang out.
