Fantastic place on the beach!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The complex is small but mighty! I was a little concerned when we pulled in but extremely pleased when we opened the door. Probably the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed and smelled like bleach for hours. Updated kitchen and bathroom. Just big enough for the 2 of us. Location across the street from John’s Pass so you don’t have to pay for parking. The beach is just steps away and easy to set up for the day! We will return.

Great stay.

We had a great stay. The accommodations were perfect for just the 2 of us. The hotel was well kept, pool area was clean and well kept and being right on the beach was perfect. Love our whole trip

Great view and location!

We had a wonderful stay. Our unit was exactly like the picture overlooking the pool and beach. Our unit was very clean and had everything we needed. Pool area is beautiful and also very clean. I was impressed also with the beach- very well maintained. We are already planning for next year!

Mother-daughter weekend

Met all of our needs. Looked just like the pictures, the place was clean and right on the beach! We were happy to get a call that the condo was available for an early check in too!

Great location

We liked this place, it was nice having an ocean view. It looks like it has been updated. The location was very convenient. Only thing that could be improved was the mini split at times wasn’t able to keep up. We would choose this property again.

November 2015 Stay

Another absolutely wonderful stay at Surf Song. We've been visiting almost annually since the mid 1980's. The weather was great and the room (226) was perfect. Larry and Tim, and the entire office staff are so friendly and welcoming. Every time we visit they've done something to improve the property. Love it here. Greg & Sherry Lewis

Plants out front are dead, floors peeling and dirty, handrails are dirty. Rooms are overpriced based on the condition of the resort.

2 different rooms for the stay

The first room was updated and everything was new, but it had bed bugs. You can tell that they were left by one of the last people to stay in it. I got in contact with the manager who never came to the office the whole week we were there. They moved us and we're very understanding. The second room is not updated but clean.

Reviewer Comments: As usual, my stay in 226 was comfortable and it has always felt like my 2nd home for many years ..unfortunately, prices @SS and elsewhere in Mad Beach have shot up exorbitantly over the past 2-3 years causing me to consider looking at other areas for my winter stay ..this may be my last year renting there as they are pricing many of us out ..prices have been going up and services have been either reduced or eliminated ..not a good situation for any guest

Still One of Our Favourite Places, But This Stay Had Some Issues

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've been coming to Surf Song Resort for many years because we truly love this place. The location is hard to beat, the beach is beautiful, and we always enjoy staying here. Our room was great overall, we loved the layout, the beach view, and the overall setup.That said, there were a few issues during this stay. The couch is definitely showing its age and could use replacing, and for some reason the mattress left us waking up with sore backs almost every morning.When we checked in, we were told there was a repair order for the TV. The TV operates through the internet, and because there was no internet service, we had no TV or internet for our entire first evening. Neither worked until the following morning. After a long day of traveling, we were really looking forward to relaxing, watching TV, and getting online, so it was disappointing and very inconvenient.The last night of our stay, the air conditioner stopped working for the entire night and didn't come back on until the morning. That made for a very uncomfortable night's sleep.The staff is a bit of a mixed bag. Some employees were absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond, while others weren't nearly as friendly.Even with these issues, we still love Surf Song Resort and plan to return. We do feel that some type of compensation or goodwill gesture for the first night's loss of TV and internet service would have been appropriate, but we don't expect that will happen. One other thing worth mentioning is that the resort's rules are among the strictest we've encountered at any vacation rental.Overall, despite a few frustrating inconveniences, this is still a place we enjoy because of its fantastic location, beautiful beach, and comfortable accommodations. We hope some updates to the furniture and a little more attention to guest service will make future stays even better.

Sunhost Resort #226

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife and I stayed here for a week and the condo itself was very nice. The small studio size was perfect for us since we spend most of our time outside and on the beach anyways.Pro's: It was very clean. The freezer had an ice maker and the kitchen had a dishwasher and everything that we needed to make meals so that we didn't have to eat out a lot. The bed was extremely comfortable! After a set of stairs and walking past the pool, your feet are in the sand.Cons:You could hear everyone outside and in the next room through the walls easily.There wasn't a way to dry out towels or swimsuits unless we wanted to use the coin dryers. There was no balcony and the signs forbid us from hanging them over the railing.We had a very long drive from Indiana, showed up 30 minutes before closing on a Saturday and received a call from the lady working... she wasn't the most friendly, but maybe she just had a long day. The ladies while we were checking out were much more friendly.Overall, I would stay here again if the price was lower than surrounding condos with a balcony. This was our first time to Madeira Beach and we loved it. I do think the price is a bit high, but I'm used to staying at Myrtle Beach in a 2 bedroom condo with balcony right on the beach for about the same price. However, I will admit that the Gulf views are better.

Nice place to stay

The only thing that could use some improvement was the bed and the AC It wasn't very comfortable and it didn't get cold enough to sleep without sweating. We are used to a very comfortable and firm bed and we sleep with it very cool at night and we had gotten plenty of sun. I'm sure that didn't help.

Perfect location for all of our adventures

We went as far South as Venice Beach and as far North as Tarpon Springs. We packed in so many fun filled days that we were exhausted by the time we got back to our room. It was so nice being right on the ocean and having a pool as well. Only thing is that I wish they would have had umbrellas and beach chairs for us so I didn't have to put out more money to rent one. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great location.

Perfect long weekend!

Studio was perfect size and great layout. The kitchen is nicely done with full size appliances. Everything was clean.

Disappointed

Plumbing problems reported, no follow up from property manager until I contacted them it was brushed off. We could barely take a shower because shower clogged so bad, couldn’t use sink in bathroom without getting a shower, and shower curtain kept falling. Neighbors next door obviously has never been in public because they partied allllllllllll night loudly even shooting fireworks. Even when it clearly states in checkin that there is quiet time. Property was just a disappointment. Maintenance man was friendly and helpful!
