"Coastal Birdsong" a spacious apt in a tranquil waterfront setting. Sip your coffee or cool drink enjoying the wildlife at this coastal retreat. Great location close to Beaufort, Morehead City, Cape Lookout Nat'l Seashore and all the crystal coast has to offer with its pristine beaches, historical downtowns, restaurants and nightlife. Nearby water access to launch boats/kayaks. Whether couple, small family or solo adventurer, we would love to host you and share this wonderful place we live in!
The space
Located in a small, quiet neighborhood on a creek with beautiful water views. Your private 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment occupies the lower level of our home and has its own entrance. The apartment has its own private back deck and a nice yard for the kids to play. We have a small dock that you are welcome to use for sunbathing, viewing the wildlife and taking some scenic pictures, however we do ask that children be accompanied by an adult at all times if on the dock.

The spacious apartment is a newly renovated open floor plan with lots of windows and high ceilings. There is a separate bedroom with a queen bed, dresser, shelving and space to hang your clothes. Additional sleeping is available on the futon sofa/bed in the living area, which is perfect for 2 children or 1 adult. The living area also has plenty of seating with a large sectional sofa where everyone can gather, a 50” ROKU TV with You Tube TV, or you can login to access your favorite TV apps, such as Netflix, Prime, etc. We also have provided lots of games for you to enjoy, as well as some workout equipment (yoga mats, resistive bands) to keep yourself busy when indoors. WiFi is available throughout the apartment.

The kitchen is open to living room with a large dining table for family meals. If you enjoy cooking, it’s well equipped with everything you need: full size fridge with ice maker, microwave, oversized toaster/oven/broiler, 2 burner cooktop, large electric skillet and air fryer. There is also an outdoor grill and crockpot available upon request.
There is one bathroom, with shower stall, toilet and vanity. Linens, towels/washcloths, make-up remover, soap and welcome toiletries provided.
Guest access
Entire apartment available. Self check in keypad. Guests are welcome to use the yard and dock.
Other things to note
Ample parking in driveway. Room for small camper and boat trailer.

Fantastic place to stay!

Great getaway

We normally take a small vacation for our anniversary and we are a fishing couple. We have stayed in several places in the aera that were all nice but by far this one was are favorite. It was just right size and had everything we needed for a nice and relaxing time.

Stay at Bird Song

Apartment was good sized for one or two people. Furniture was a little older and had trouble getting up from them. TV was You Tube TV. Needs instructions on how to use remote. Dock and grounds were nice. Hosts husband grew up near me and we talked about that. Bird Song is correct title as there were many birds to see.

This was just what I was looking for. It was out away from town, on the sound. It was very attractively furnished. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. I am looking forward to staying there again.

Amazing stay!

My boyfriend and I loved everything about staying here. The place was stocked with everything we could need in the bathroom and kitchen! I personally loved the attention to detail including yoga mats, written guidebook for the area, some basic spices to use and labeling on the lights/fans. The bed and couch were very comfortable. The owner was extremely communicative and flexible! I was able to reach her with any and every question I had. The outdoor shower was absolutely adorable. I think our favorite part was the outdoor seating area with a beautiful view of the creek. Listening to the cicadas and watching the birds over the water was so relaxing. It has the feel of being the only two people in the world while being close to the beaches and two cute towns. I would definitely recommend staying here and will be back again.

Peaceful Retreat

My husband and I have stayed in a lot of short term rentals and this one ranks with the best! Clean, spacious and comfortable. The neighborhood is so very peaceful. We will be staying in the Coastal Birdsong again.

Perfect for us

Janet was a great communicator. She and Fred were friendly and accommodating. Easy people to talk with. The place was as described. It is a newer remodel and is perfectly decorated. Clean and comfortable. Very quiet area. Easy drive to Harker’s Island or Beaufort. Nice sitting area outside as well. Zero issues for us.

Beautiful little place

Pleasant Quiet Spot

This tidy apartment is on a small salt water creek. It’s pleasantly decorated, with a comfortable bed and living space, a small but useful kitchen area (everything works and is in good condition) and a spacious living room with a couch and futon. The porch, with a view of the creek and forest, is a pleasant relaxing place to spend time. There’s an outdoor shower; great if the weather is good. I’m a bird watcher so I spent a lot of time on the porch and dock with my camera. Much to see! If you are looking for a beach front with crashing waves, or walkable restaurants nearby., this isn’t for you. But if you want peaceful moments, scenery and relaxation, this is great! And you can drive to various beaches, including the small no-waves beach at Harkers that’s not far away. There are a lot of nice little details, like the labels on the light switches so you don’t have to try every single switch to find the one you want. The owner told me that since there wasn’t anyone there after me, I didn’t have yo leave by check out time—I appreciated that! All in all a lovely weekend

Great Getaway!

This is a great spot and lovely apartment. Janet and Craig were wonderful hosts, great communication, and very helpful. We had a great time in the area and enjoyed the food and water. The apartment is very spacious and had lots of amenities that made it special. Thanks to you both for everything!

We enjoy anything that involves the water such as, boating, fishing, surfing, paddle boarding, as well as music and meeting new people from all walks of life!

When we first moved to the area, we lived in Beaufort. We still love Beaufort and all it has to offer, however it has grown quite a bit since we came and that's when we decided to move "down east". We love the natural surroundings, serenity and close proximity to Beaufort.

Our location is private, the perfect place to relax and close enough to enjoy the hustle/bustle of Beaufort! There's something about the tranquility of being on the water and observing the abundance of wildlife that brings a sense of peace and calm.
