Movie Nights & Firepit-Coastal Retreat

As a retired military family, travel has always been a meaningful part of our lives. Over the years, we’ve used vacation rentals for everything from family vacations to reconnecting with loved ones across the country, and some of our favorite memories were made simply being together under one roof.

We truly believe the best part of life is making memories with family and friends, and we’ll rarely pass up an opportunity to travel to see the people we love. One of the things we’ve always appreciated most about Airbnb and vacation rentals is the ability for everyone to stay together comfortably instead of being separated into hotel rooms.

When creating this home, we wanted to design a space that felt welcoming, relaxing, and connection-focused - a place where families could slow down, enjoy movie nights, share meals, explore the area, and simply enjoy time together.

What makes this neighborhood so special to us is that it offers qualities that are surprisingly hard to find in Jacksonville. While walkable waterfront-style neighborhoods may be common in some coastal cities, they are much more unique here.

This area combines Charleston-style charm, walkability, outdoor recreation, waterfront access, local coffee shops and bakeries, parks, kayak launches, and family-friendly amenities all within one centrally located neighborhood. You can take peaceful evening walks, enjoy nearby boardwalks and water views, grab coffee from a locally owned café, or spend time outdoors without needing to drive across town.

We especially love that the neighborhood feels both relaxed and connected — close to everything while still offering a slower coastal atmosphere that stands apart from much of Jacksonville. It gives guests a chance to experience a side of the city that many visitors never realize exists.

What makes this home especially unique is the combination of Charleston-style character, family-friendly comfort, and entertainment-focused amenities all in one centrally located stay.

The dedicated theater room is one of our favorite features, complete with an 85” TV, surround sound, recliners, and oversized bean bags designed for memorable movie nights together. The home also offers a layout that works well for families, couples, military visitors, and small groups wanting to stay together comfortably.

Guests also love the location - close to waterfront recreation, kayak launches, local coffee shops, parks, and nearby coastal destinations while still feeling tucked into a charming and peaceful neighborhood.
