When you arrive at Griner's Life Saving$ Station, you’ll be transported to your own lakefront retreat with breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Michigan and an incredible private beach. Designed to resemble a Coast Guard Station, there really isn’t anything like it. This one-of-a-kind gem is a nod to local history, full of recycled and repurposed treasures, and it’s perfect for families (and pups) to unplug, unwind, and reconnect with each other at the lake.
Living Spaces
From your cozy spot in the open-concept living area, you’ll have views upon views of sand and water. Three entire walls of windows and French doors out to the deck provide tons of natural light and gorgeous, panoramic views of Lake Michigan. Whether you’re snuggled up on the couch, relaxing on the recliner, or enjoying a cup of coffee or tea at the table, you’ll have breathtaking scenery to keep you company. Easy-to-clean tile flooring throughout the main living and dining areas makes cleaning up after sandy kids and pups a breeze.
Also on the main level, the den is an additional living space that makes it easy to spread out. Grab a spot on the couch and enjoy the local channels on the flatscreen TV or gather together with some games for a fun evening in. Kid-sized antique chairs and desks make the perfect homework spot. And of course, you still have those incredible views.
Kitchen & Dining
The open-concept kitchen features repurposed metal cabinets, stainless steel countertops, and a huge island with plenty of prep space – it even has a second sink! With bar seating for four, the kitchen counter is the perfect spot to serve snacks and drinks or to keep the chef company. And the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for easy meal prep – a coffee pot, pots and pans, cutlery, spices, and lake views.
Open to the kitchen and living areas, the dining area features a huge wooden dining table that easily seats 8. With the counter seating, table for three by the window, and extra chairs, there is plenty of seating for everyone.
Bedrooms & Baths
Four spacious bedrooms make this home perfect for families. Each room features beautiful distressed hardwood flooring, doors repurposed or recycled from their original use, its own ensuite bathroom, and nautical decor – one of the bathrooms even features a port-hole window in keeping with the Coast Guard theme of Griner’s. Three bedrooms boast stunning views of the lake as well as direct access to the deck, so you never have to leave the lake, even when you sleep.

Pet-friendly. No smoking/vaping. No parties or events.
Time to unplug! Due to the location of this property, there is no cell phone service but don’t fret we do have wifi. Most major phone carriers services allow wifi calling.

Outdoor Amenities
Keep an eye on that beautiful blue water with multiple levels of expansive decking, all with glass railings that don’t obstruct the view. Fire up the grill and dine al fresco at the dining table for six, or simply relax on a chair on the deck with a cup of coffee or your favorite book. Then head down to the water and your own private beach on Lake Michigan. Nothing but panoramic views of water, sand, and sky. In the evening, take advantage of the moveable fire ring and enjoy the peaceful natural setting that surrounds you at Griner’s Life Saving$ Station. In keeping with the theme of the house, the exterior light fixtures were once shining on the decks of the Ann Arbor No. 5 Car Ferry which sailed out of Frankfort, Michigan — a piece of history to shed some light during stunning sunsets on the beach.
