This lovely Pono Kai unit can be found on the Coconut Coast in Kapaa, Kauai. Offering guests a beachfront resort experience in a convenient location! This 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom Resort Condominium is located in the ideal Building H on the second floor. Featuring a cozy, covered lanai that faces the pool and cabana area, the ideal location to enjoy comfortable lounge seating while taking in the tropical splendors. Unit H204 is clean and bright with an abundance of natural light. Offering guests everything they need for a dream getaway with the comforts of home! Including a fully-equipped kitchen ready to prepare your island-inspired meals, a comfortable living area with entertainment center &. a sleeper sofa, and dining table for four.

The building has an elevator and ample parking is also available. In addition to being a short walk away from downtown Kapaa, which has numerous dining options, shopping, and banking services, there is a multi-use bike path stretching over 7 miles following the coastline.

The Pono Kai complex provides a wide range of on-site amenities such as a pool, hot tub, shared laundry facilities, tennis courts, putting greens, volleyball court, croquet court, ping-pong table, chess court, and more.

We love staying at Pono Kai! Itā€™s a great location. The unit was clean. Only downside is this unit does not have A/C. I missed that when we booked. Makes it very difficult to sleep at night. Other wise it was great!

Great Location

This property is very clean, updated and comfortable! Great ameneties and a great location. My only complaint is that it needs AC in the bedroom. Leaving the windows open gives zero privacy from people walking by. Leaving the lanai doors open is a safety issue and still doesnt create enough breeze for the bedroom. Aside from this, we really enjoed our stay here.

The view from the patio was beautiful, we loved sitting outside enjoying the view and listening to the birds, even the roasters.The grounds are very well keep. The solitude was very much enjoyed. Nice pool area. The beach was just a short walk from the condo. Great walking, biking trail along the beach. The condo was comfortable and very clean. The kitchen met our needs, all appliances were in good working order. The staff we encountered at the resort were all very helpful and kind.We enjoyed having restaurants within walking distance. This condo is in a good central location for exploring .

It could have been better

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been to Kauai 5 times before, and also stayed at Pono Kai before, so we have some experience of the resort and of Kapa'a itself. Pono Kai is well situated, and is a resort with a lot for visitors to do - as such we had a good time staying there.However, although Pono Kai is an old development, and does need some tlc, this property has been recently renovated and some new furniture bought, so we were looking forward to the stay. Unfortunately the quality of the furniture was not good enough for the high rental we paid, and the bed/mattress/pillows were the worst we have had in any condo. Other areas that needed improvement were: a) Provision of glasses - there were only pint and wine glasses provided - nothing in between. b) Beach chairs were rusty and broken - we bought new ones from Home Depot!c) There was no outdoor furniture for eating outside on the balcony.The good news is that none of this spoiled our vacation -we have learned to adapt to these kind od problems, and the staff at Hawaii Life, and their contractors were very helpful in attending to the problems that came up.

Lovely stay at Pono kai

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great stay in unit H204! Upon arrival everything was in place and very clean. The unit is well laid out with all the comforts of home. We chose this unit because of the full kitchen as we like to cook breakfast and make lunches for our day's outing. We also like to cook a couple dinners in to keep the cost down. Every thing you need is there. The location was very central to both North and South coasts. Plus walking to stores, shave ice, bike rentals ABC store etc. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
