A great home!!

Our family of 11 stayed and had the best time! The house was great and the location was amazing! Our family was able to hang out on the cul-de-sac as it wasn’t too cold yet. We had a great experience!

Big Bear Lake Front Cabins used Expedia as the "middle man" to post their bookings so my review will be strictly of them and not of Expedia. For starters the cabin we stayed was the Wayne family's "Tree Top". The cabin was wonderful, the amenities and accommodations were excellent, the staff of Big Bear Lake Front Cabins were kind, understanding, helpful, and available whenever needed or interacted with. I cannot stress enough how great the experience was in working with them for this family vacation. We were so impressed with their operation and their cabin offerings that we have discussed going to them exclusively with our annual December vacation from here on out. To the Wayne family (if they read this), you're cabin is a wonderful place to both use as a base to go out and visit the Big Bear locations from and a place to relax and unwind together with loved ones. Thank you for opening your home to others and letting us enjoy it. 5 stars all the way through for our vacation with this listing. ✨️

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had fun, location is great and cabin was comfortable but people should know that they have removed the fireplace from this cabin. This would have been a show stopper for us, but the description said fireplace. And yes,, there is a wood burning stove in the basement but we couldn’t get it to work. The main family room appears to have had a fireplace but there is a couch in front of it now. Overall we enjoyed our time there but a big part of renting a cabin in the winter is a cozy fire.

Got our exercise...

While the house was not what we expected, we enjoyed our time there. I did NOT notice that the living room / kitchen & dining area were all on the 2nd floor. We have a small dog that could not climb the stairs so we were constantly having to carry her up and down stars. The kitchen was nice and easy to cook in, we ate most of our meals there. Bedrooms were nice except the downstairs one with 3 beds was odd, although might have been good for kids? The lighted mirror in the master freaked us out the first night, it had a light on the on/off button that fluctuated like a light house beacon ALL night long. We ended up covering it so that we could sleep. I don't know that we would use it again, YET is a good place for the price to gather family as it slept 12, with a good location.

Wheelchair Accessible at entry to Gameroom/Big Bedroom/Half bath

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a spacious cabin in a great location and very affordable for the square footage and location. This cabin has many great reviews so mine is based on wheelchair accessibility. Most cabins here have stairs leading to the front door so finding a cabin with no stairs was difficult. This cabin was on a cul-de-sac and flat spacious driveway so we had plenty room to offload. We just had to tilt his chair back a little to get through the front door, same as our front door at home. The upstairs is the main floor with the kitchen dining and 3 bedrooms/ 1 very spacious bathroom. However the 1st floor has the spacious gameroom right when you enter and easy to maneuver around to get to the very spacious bedroom with 3 double beds. There is a door in that bedroom that leads outside for backyard access, although we did not go back there. It was windy and breezy, lots of pine needles and dusty patio furniture (it could use a cleaning). The stairs The stairs are a bit noisy walking up and you can hear the footsteps above when in the bottom bedroom. The 1st floor also is alit cooler than upstairs but it has the wood stove that we tried to use but the wood wouldn'tburn for long and caused the smoke smell to travel in the back room. This isn't a big deal for most but I have a special needs kid that is sensitive and just mentioning in case it helps someone. I would bring the duraflame logs to keep it lit during your stay in the cold months, all tile downstairs so its cold. The central heater works very well for the upstairs mostly but does warm the downstairs some. The kitchen had everything even some seasonings. AND a big plus for me, there was a couple starbucks coffee bags and creamer in the fridge for use! Also, instacart delivers there, the stores are close by easy to navigate to town, no windy roads or steep hills, and in a beautiful neighborhood.
