6 BR private cottage, on wooded and secluded 1.5 acres in Union Pier, Michigan, just 90 minutes from Chicago in the heart of Harbor Country. Breezy Lane cottage is across from a private sandy beach on the shore of lake Michigan, modern kitchen including dishwasher, washer/dryer;,six bedrooms, each with private views overlooking the lawn and woods. The cottage has a deck, a sun room, and a new large screened porch. There is plenty of outside furniture and a gas barbeque. The lawn and yard are large enough for group games in one area, play set in another, dining and private outside lounging in yet another, all on beautiful private grounds. Swim, sun and walk for miles on the sand beach, rinse off in the outside shower, enjoy evening bonfires and stargazing. Includes TV, cable, and wireless. Breezy Lane cottage is perfect for groups of friends or family, plenty of space to spend time together or privately for reading, sun bathing, or other peaceful pleasures. Perfect for coping with COVID, so close to Chicago or Detroit.
Located in the heart of Harbor Country, Breezy Lane cottage is just minutes from local restaurants, or visit nearby butcher ships, bakeries, farm stands, and farmers' markets --to create your own feast. Check out the local brews at Greenbush Brewery in Sawyer or local whiskey at the Journeymen in Three Oaks. Hunt for treasures at Harbor Country antique shops, rent bikes, kayaks, canoes for the lake or nearby rivers, enjoy movies or acclaimed local theater in Three Oaks. Or just relax in the yard or on the beach. There's always many ways to enjoy your vacation at Breezy Lane Cottage.
We rent Friday to Friday during the summer months, July. Available for weekends, long weekends or school vacations during the year, October-June.

Our week at Breezy Lane was delightful. It was spacious with plenty of room for our 4 adult children to spread out. We enjoyed the outdoor screened in porch and the large yard for games, as well as the fire pit. It was a short walk to and from the beach, and the access point was right across from the driveway. It had everything we could ask for in a home away from home for a bit.

Communication with the owner was ok. Pros:The accomadations for our family of 14 was adequate. The house was clean, well stocked with TP, pots pans, dishes, soaps and the like. Bed were clean and comfortable. The house was decorated nicely. The screened in porch was a plus- clean with adequate furniture. AC worked properly. Cons:The washrooms had no locks on the doors ( as a family we made do without locks)The front entrance to the house was a mess, so to was the back deck leading to the screeened in porch, which made no sence since the screened in porch was such a nice touch. Honestly for the cost of the 5 day stay, we all felt that the owners could do with a much needed clean up of the front and back yard . Why is the grill on the side of the house that is hardly used? 60 steps going down to the beach area is a bit much for older adults. Overgrown bushes by the parking area as well as around the perimeter of the house made for very poor curb appeal, not anything like the pictures on VRBO. As a whole, we enjoyed our stay but felt for the money the outside should be kep cleaner.

Perfect for a friends weekend!!

We (13 women in our thirties) had the best weekend here!! The house had everything we needed: perfect number of clean, comfortable bedrooms, a well-appointed kitchen, an INCREDIBLE location just 3 minutes walking from the beautiful private beach, so many beach towels, a large main area for hanging out, a grill, an outdoor shower (we loved it!!!), the cutest screened in gazebo where we ate meals and a huge yard! It was so clean and nice but still has lots of character and coziness. Peg was very responsive and answered all my questions and check in and out were super easy. Would love to come back and stay for longer!!

Perfect combination of beach access and privacy

It’s hard to find somewhere with both private beach access and a private backyard but this rental managed both. Beach is very nice and the winner of the weekend was the screened in gazebo with plenty of seating. Would definitely rent again!

This home is extremely well-appointed and comfortable. The large lawn/garden is perfect for kids & family. The beach is perfect.

Annual family vacation

My family and I have been vacationing together in Union Pier for 30+ years. Last year, we had to find a new cottage to stay in after our former cottage we rented burned down. We could not have been happier to find Breezy Lane and it fits our family so well. We’ve had a great two years here and we look forward to (hopefully) many future years renting here and making many more years of memories as a family!

Family Beach Vacation

We stayed with my sister and my Aunt and all of the cousins ages 3-9. We loved the house. Lots of space and the layout was perfect for putting the kids to bed earlier and be able to visit in the living room and kitchen area.The walk to the beach was a bit far for my elderly Aunt. She was able to do it but it took some time. We had a wonderful time and would come back again.

Amazing!

My family and I have been vacationing in Union Pier every year for the last 30+ years and it’s always our favorite week of the year. Unfortunately, the house that we had been renting had a fire and no longer does rentals. We are so fortunate and happy that we found this place for our family as it was absolutely perfect! The bedrooms, huge yard, screened in porch, and short walk to the beach was amazing for our group of young kiddos to adults. Plus, it was dog friendly and our dog had a blast! We already rented it for next year and cannot wait to come again. We hope to call this place “home” one week per year for many years to come!

Wonderful Lake House

Lovely yard with lots of trees. Private outdoor shower was a wonderful addition to the 2 bathrooms. Easy access to beautiful beach. Very clean and well air conditioned house. Everyone especially liked the detatched screened porch and the live deer in the yard. We are already booked for next year!

A lot of space

The living/dining room was bigger than I expected. The kitchen was well stocked, lots of dishes and I liked the filtered water dispenser at the sink. The bathrooms worked well but not the best remodeling. The house goes on and on! A nice bedroom of the living room that I didn't even see at first, 2 more just past the bathrooms, then a door with a hallway and 3 more bedrooms! The bedding was very clean and plenty of pillows. The screened porch is the best room of the house! Large table, hammock and porch swing. The fire pit had plenty of chairs and a storage bin to keep wood dry. Deer came to visit the yard every morning and evening. The locked gate to the beach is very close and there are tons of gate keys on lanyards. 67 steps down to the bottom and then a bit more hill down to the beach. The beach chairs were very nice. Glad they are kept in a nice storage bin at the bottom of the steps with nice umbrellas, too. There were a couple of kayaks laying there but no paddles to be seen. Only negative I'd say is not much in the way of games and toys. The house is comfortable and functional, but not fancy. Worked great for our 8 people.

Family vacation

We had a fantastic time! The kids and grandkids had a blast at the beach. We enjoyed the large and private yard and used the fire pit nightly for smores. The beds were very comfortable. There were plenty of towels for our family of 13. We would absolutely return for another stay! Thank you!!!!

Excellent stay!

We were thrilled with this lovely rental. So many pros: ample space, both indoor and outdoor, to comfortably house our group of 13; love the screened in porch, yard is huge for lawn games, beach was gorgeous, well stocked kitchen and a homey versus “show place” rental where I’d be a nervous wreck worrying if the grandkids would break something. Communication with our host was outstanding. My family and I can’t wait to stay here again:)

Breezy Lane

Overall we had a wonderful time. The house was very clean. It’s a very interesting house. There are different sections of the house that can be closed off with doors. This is very helpful if you have little ones that you want to keep out of the kitchen when cooking or if you want some extra quiet time for little ones naps. The decor is very unique & vintage! We LOVED the screened in porch. The swing set and hammocks were enjoyed by the children. The host & owners were very responsive & welcoming. The only caution I have for future rentals is the accessibility of the private beach. If anyone in your family has hip or knee issues, they may not be able to get to the beach. There are 70 some steps to go down & a small sand incline to reach the stairs when going back up the steps. The beach area was absolutely beautiful & peaceful. They provided umbrellas & some chairs to use when on the beach. We had a wonderful time. Just wished it was easier to get to the beach.

Family vacation

Great for large family group with young kids. No twin or bunk beds. We brought a twin blow up and port a crib, which made room sharing with kids a bit easier. Fantastic outdoor playground, hammock, fire pit, grill, and large yard space safe from road. The very large (sat 14) screened porch was essential for family meals and relaxing. Ample beach chairs and towels. Steep climb up sand dune, then stairs, so be patient getting to beach. In unit laundry and A/C was a definite plus. Well equipped kitchen. Three of the bedrooms were shut off down their own hallway, so noise from adults after kids in bed was not heard. Made for easy evening visiting. Bring a baby monitor. Had a wonderful time! Highly recommend.

Family vacation

A bit difficult for us to locate, Breezy Lane was a great place for this large group with an age range from 7 to 70. We used the deck, screen porch, hammocks, fire pit and gas grill. Unfortunately, we are not as physically fit as we should be and that sand dune at the foot of the beach stairs proved a challenge to many of us. The outdoor shower at the house was so helpful in keeping most of the beach out of the house. Sunsets were amazing and most of us spent a great deal of time enjoying Lake Michigan's inviting, cooling water. Very memorable week !

Summer Breeze

This was our second family vacation at Breezy Lane. It was terrific! The cottage worked well for14 of us (from 6 years old to 72). The large screened porch is perfect for dinners, relaxing or playing board games (the LR/DR has ample space for the same). The huge yard provides great space for playing catch and other outdoor games - and we enjoyed S'mores at the fire pit. The beach is outstanding, with plenty of room and beautiful sand. Giving this property a 5-star review is Easy Breezy!

Family trip

When we first drove up i was not ao sure. The garbage cans were blocking the entrance & there is a large dip as you pull in. The yard was not mowed and and chairs were just sitting askew all over the porch. Once you got in side it was amazing. Old,but clean. Plenty of room for 8 adults & 2 kids. They had tons of pots & pans and cookware. Nice washer & dryer. The screen porch was a blessing because the bugs were terrible. The lake and beach are wonderful. As the description says- its a long walk to the beach and the sand is not soft” its not leveled off so its hard ro walk in. The chairs etc at the end or the steps - some were broken & there were quite a bit of spiders in them. I was not sure if the kayak’s were our to use. We had the best time at the beach. The house had everything you could ever want and more. We left extra things we we did not open in the pantry. You may want to being more toilet. Pam text to check on us & asked if we had all we needed. The lawn people came to mow the day we left. Take a few hours and rent a boat from okelska Marina. You do all your forms on line & then when you get there your ready ro go. Great people. You have drive a ways to find things to so. There is a little store on the corner by union pier market that makes some good sandwiches if you want to plan for a picnic or just toeat it was very nice an homy. Keep in mind this is an older home. It has everything you want & need. Go and enjoy the beach halfway up there is a nice bench to sit on to catch your breath. The outdoor shower did not woek, but they had a hose to use i am glad we rented this place. Pam made sure all was well and always asked if we needed anything. I give it 🔹🔹🔹🔺stars. The 1/2 star is because ir dis not have curb appeal. We enjoyed our stay and wanted to an extra day. I am sure we will stay there agIn. The screen porch was my happy place. They need to have the fans blowing down not up out there. You will not regret booking & staying at Breezy Lane.
