So fun!

The location was beautiful and we loved everything included! It is what you see. The beds are a little hard and we had some delays in contacting the manager for things. One room's AC wasn't working and the hot water wasn't always hot. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would totally go again!

Host was able accommodate last minute date change. I was very happy with location very convenient area. Now onsite manager never provided me the code key until I had message them. Never check on us In our stay need better customer service delicacy. The villa is currently next to a construction site that is making a lot notice in the morning. The villa has a lot potential it does need some repairs and some of the furniture are in need of repair or replacement. The Italian restaurant in the hotel was not great especially for the prices. But with all of this I would still recommend due how clean, convenient and price was very reasonable.

Great villa on the marina

We enjoyed Villa Montaña 15 immensely. We came to Samaná specifically to spend Saturday doing a whale watching tour, and the property is only 10 minutes from the offices and dock where the tour begins. Positives of the property include high speed internet (very difficult to find in rental properties) which allowed our kids to be in online classes during the daytime without interruption, as well as use of the Smart TV with no streaming issues. The bedrooms are spacious and well kept, ensuite bathrooms as well. We fixed our own meals most of the time, and found that the kitchen had most items we wanted, including service for 8 people. We enjoyed the Ocean Club pool very much, with its infinity views overlooking the bay. During the week, there were plenty of sunchairs. We appreciated the towels that were offered as well. We ate at the Italian restaurant one evening and enjoyed the appetizers, but a few of the main dishes were not as tasty as we hoped they would be. The prices of the restaurant were very fair. We enjoyed seeing the boats (yachts) that were coming into the marina daily - they are beautiful. The mini-market on the grounds is VERY well stocked - I was surprised to find bacon and a good deli meat and cheese selection. The only negative that we found is that fact that there is no public or private beach on the grounds - the beaches of Samaná are gorgeous and one would have to drive to a different part of the province about 30-40 minutes away, or take the water taxi to Cayo Levantado (however, the rates for the trip were at $25 and for our group would not have been an affordable way to travel for a few hours to the beach). Martina is a great house keeper, however I don't believe she speaks English - we communicated with her in Spanish and were able to get all of our needs met easily.

A Dream!

I am definitely coming back. This house is so gorgeous, clean, and the views are to die for. The pictures are nothing compared to how beautiful this place really is. Having access to the hotel is such a plus. The whole complex is breathtaking in the evening and during the day as well. Martina the caretaker of the house is so sweet and nice! This house for the price it’s the best deal you’ll ever get. I absolutely loved it!

Amazing View

What an amazing view! Lovely house, totally enjoyed staying in it. The showers were a bit confusing (using the hand-held vs. the rain-shower head) but no big deal we finally figured out. TIP: Turn on the hot water heater as SOON as you get there, then it'll be nice and ready for you the following morning. We were also told by another guest that there is a free boat at 11am every day that takes you to a nearby private beach.

Great accommodations and resort amenities

The only downfall of this place is there is no beach on site. There is a nearby island that you can reach a great beach with a 20 minute boat ride, however! Other gorgeous beaches are about an hour drove, but well worth it. This is an out of the normal tourist route place which was perfect for us.

Will Definitely Return

After spending 4 nights in this beautiful villa, our only regret is that we could not stay any longer. The villa is comfortable, spacious, well decorated, and well situated. You can lounge in the patio pool at the villa, or go for a short walk to the large infinity pool at the resort. You have access to a modern gym. You are a short boat ride to Cayo Levantado. It is the perfect vacation to relax and spend time with friends or family. Martina, was a skilled chef and took good care of us. We enjoyed her company. We hope to come back soon. Thanks Jim for your quick response to our reservations and your professionalism.

Fantastic quiet community

Fantastic off the beaten path location. Quiet safe place. This house worked out perfectly for our two families with teenagers but would also work for families with little kids. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space. Jim was incredibly easy to work with and always accessible by email. Martina was a wonderful help. Nothing better than waking up to some else making breakfast. Plenty of activities to do in the Samana area to keep us busy from discovering deserted beaches to the standard whale watching tours.

Great Samana scape and wonderful in-house service!

We had a blast enjoying the beauty of the Samana attractions and staying in this property had made this trip even more memorable with the convenient location and spacious design of the house. Jim, the host, had kindly reminded us before arrival, the greatest amenities of the house, which is the wonderful service of Ms. Martina who catered us with so many Dominican dishes that my family still talking about the experience. This was definitely the highly of my entire staying in Dominican Republic. I would've given this a 5 (or 6 star) rating if I hadn't had the inconvenience of Master BR's air conditioning unit.

BEAUTIFUL HOME AND SCENERY!!

I hope to cover as much as possible as I have in the past with other rentals. We are from Miami and we were visiting some family in the Dominican Republic. We decided to escape the capital (Santo Domingo) and venture out to Samana (much better view and beaches if you ask me). We looked at a couple of rentals but the view from this villa caught my eye. I was really hoping not to be disappointed as this was such a last minute deal, I had no room for error. The owner: Responded almost immediate after I sent him an email. that alone told me the kind of service I was to receive. He emailed me all local beaches, were to buy food for the weekend, personnel with whom we can coordinate for any extracurricular activities.. you covered all the bases Jim, thumbs way up!. Price: I wont say how much, but family members who live there and regularly vacation there, were stunned!. well worth every cent! (cheaper than a room in Disney). Home: Impeccable.. from the beautifully arranged modern/contemporary furniture, to the squeaky clean floors and bathrooms throughout the house. We were ecstatic! (specially the wife). Pictures: Doesn't do this home any justice, I tried and tried but failed to capture the view this home has to offer, unbelievable!. Location: Jim's Villa is perfectly located at the beginning of the street where there is a 5 car parking conveniently located next to the home for any visiting guests and family. Because the Villa is the first on the lot, you only have one neighbor to the right (total sweetheart) and no one on the left but views of mountains. We hit the jackpot as far as views are concerned. Villas her offer 180 degree views, maybe. but this Villa is one of few that offer a 270 degree view of the land!, truly amazing. House Attendant: I wont call her a maid because Martina was family by the end of our short trip. We had breakfast early morning and after a day out on the beach, we had dinner waiting for us. We are from the states and not used to that kind of service so for us, Martina was an angel... and an AWESOME COOK!. She made us her prized Sancocho which was good enough for seconds and thirds!. Though she is included in the rental of the Villa, a well deserved tip goes along way in this industry, so we made sure she'd remember us for the next visit (wink wink). Overall: This home made such an impression on my family that we all agreed to make this our vacation spot in Samana. Truly blessed for this experience.

Great experience.

This was my second visit to Puerto Bahía and the first time staying at Mr. Novack's villa. This villa is amazing, very pretty, and well equipped with everything you could need. Puerto Bahía is a great complex, very private and luxurious. I totally recommend it, and staying at Mr. Novack's villa will make your expierence even better. Don't forget to go to Cayo Levantado, there's a tour that departs daily from the Lobby of the Bannister Hotel wich is located inside Puerto Bahía, they also have great restaurants, and Martina the housekeeper of the villa is extremely nice so she can help with anything you need. I hope going back to this villa soon.

Wonderful house

This was the perfect place for our group to stay. Jim is a wonderful host, that is on top of everything, even if he is abroad. We felt very welcome at his home. The house is very comfortable, well equipped and in a lovely location. The small pool was perfect for a refreshing splash and there was a housekeeper that came every day to keep it cristal clean. Puerto Bahia seems to be quite new, and not very populated yet, so you do get to be in a very quiet place. The restaurant is ok, especially for pizzas, it does not have too many customers, so you should go to the safe options. The mini market at the marina has a good variety and looks neat, and it is always welcome to have someone deliver to the house a couple of beers or something you may have missed to pack for breakfast. If you are going whale watching, I think Puerto Bahia is the nicest place to stay and Jim's home was a great choice for us.

We used to live in San Francisco and for the last 12 years have been living in Madrid, Spain and we purchased our dream vacation home in Samaná to spend our summer vacations with our friends, but would like to make it available for other families that we are sure will enjoy it at other times! This last summer we spent 2 months there and had several visitors with kids that absolutely loved it. You should count on renting a 4x4 vehicle to visit the many beaches in the area, but that some of them have challenging access!

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

Samaná is still a perfect mixture of tropical paradise and civilized comforts, we have good friends in the Dominican Republic that recommended this luxury development for its quality, security and absolute perfect location to boat, fish and lounge on the virgin beaches of white powder and azure ocean water.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

You have the whole range: lounge on the deck with ocean view, deep sea fishing, sailing, driving by 4x4 or boating to the nearby virgin beaches and dancing at the world-famous Café del Mar in the nearby marina.
