Dear Jim and Laura, Thank you for your review. It is unfortunate that the guests of someone else caused such havoc for your stay; however, I do disagree with some of your comments. When you brought the smoking issue to my attention, I immediately contacted the resident manager of the complex to investigate. Because you could not tell exactly where the smoke was coming from, he could only walk the complex hoping to find who was doing it. When we spoke the second time, and you still did not know the exact location, I personally came to the complex and knocked on all doors surrounding our unit. Some were home, some were not so I asked the resident manager to please put up flyers on the doors to remind people of the smoking rules. The third time you called; you had figured out who was doing the smoking and we were able to contact the owners of that unit for a resolution. Whether or not the "smokers" had stayed in our unit is questionable and if they did, it was more than 18 months ago. The living room chairs do not smell of smoke. Additionally, the bedroom furniture does not have an odor per the current guests that checked in the day after you left. Again, I appreciate your review and I hope that your next stay in the Kailua Kona area will be better for you.
