Loved the home for the price and location. Only negative was amenities (such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap etc.) were very sparse for a 5 night stay and everything was sort of cheap. I am not expecting luxury items when staying somewhere, but toilet paper being one ply and not providing more than one small bottle of shampoo and no conditioner seemed a bit lacking. Overall, if you don’t mind doing a quick run to target for a few basics, this home was amazing!

Pool was just across the parking lot, it was clean and refreshing. Beach access was close as well. They had a Place to clean off your feet and shower off if needed. You can rent umbrella and chairs. . Washer/Dryer worked great. Clean rooms and beds slept good.

The property is in such a great location for beach access and pool is right across the way... worth the money. & pickleball right next door. My only suggestion is A coat of paint and some updating... the cleanliness was amazing! Much appreciated.... it is cute. The beach access is incredibly close.

Our stay at the condo was great. Very clean and the management was very responsive. Just a short walk across the parking lot to the beach and pool, all were very accurately displayed in the photos. We were extremely happy with our stay.

Wonderful Family Vacation

We really enjoyed our stay @ Gulf 88! The townhouse fit our needs perfectly! The beech access was easy and was a great time for my family. I would highly recommend this property! When we come back to Destin in the future, we would definitely book this place again. Thanks!

Peaceful!

Loved having a washer and dryer on the first floor and quick customer service. The home was clean and close to the beach and pool as well as everything else. Thank you!

Spring Break

The property was in a good location especially close to the beach and pool. A gated area. The unit was dated but primary areas newly renovated and clean. It worked great having 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths.

Nice location

This townhome has all new kitchen items, flooring, etc. nice place. The room with the three beds is for little kids. Three full size adults would be uncomfortable sleeping in the little beds but other than that it was great. Right across the parking lot from the beach. Would def recommend this place.

Nice stay!

This way a very nice stay by no means. However i would recommend the owner provide beach chairs for guest or pay for the fees association with having the beach service. During our stay we found a few water bugs near and inside of the property. We notified management during our stay and they were very responsive. The location is very close to pool and beach. I would also recommend the owner to have atleast 10 beach towels to provide for guests especially keeping in mind those who fly into Florida.

I wish I could give this place a better review. Truth is the pictures make it look much nicer than it truly is. I was truly shocked by how few basic amenities they offered. Only 1 roll of TP per bathroom, no travel shampoo/conditioner, not even salt and pepper in the cabinet. Not having a pack n play was kind of a bummer, and while yhey are partnered with a rental company for baby supplies it cost 295 to rent a pack n play for 3 nights. Absolutely absurd. We ended up buying one at Walmart. We also found multiple roaches inside the house, upstairs and down. We paid over 1,300 for 3 nights….I just feel like for how much we paid they could definitely give more than they do. Beware if you have kids(especially babies or toddlers) that the stairs are VERY steep and slippery. Bunk bed in one of the rooms is sinking. One of the bedrooms has a fan that you can’t use because it’s obnoxiously loud, the other bedroom doesn’t even have a ceiling light….the only light in the room is a lamp. Air does not circulate well, so woke up drenched in sweat every morning(this has been a long time issue because nearly everything metal inside the house is rusted). we had to just tough it out because we couldn’t afford to lose the money we spent on this place. The only positive was how easy the beach access was and how kind the beach set up guys were. I can’t say we would ever recommend this place or come back again.

Well first I will start with the pros. Location is great, close to both the pool and the beach. The check-in process with the codes was very seamless and the property was impeccably clean which is much appreciated.And for the not so good. FWIW all 4 people staying were not fans of the beds(super firm). The big thing though we got there late the first day, but on the second day my kids (grown) noticed that their upstairs hallway bathroom would not flush. Nothing that we did should have made this happen but even after multiple flushings water would only go down with plunging...no big deal things happen. I reached out (after hours) to the property manager to inform them. They responded promptly the next morning and said we would be put on that days schedule which are all acceptable responses. That day came and went no one came or reached out. I thought surely the next day they would get to it (we were out most of the day), but no one came and no one from the management reached out. I reached out that night to ask about it, they confirmed their maintenance people dropped the ball and never did it. And they clearly never closed the loop to ensure it was completed, so they dropped the ball as well. We were leaving the next day, so I wasn't getting worked up any more over it, the kids were already just going downstairs to use the downstairs restroom. I was basically just offered an apologetic "we're sorry" email. That was their extent of trying to make it right.

Nice condo, very affordable

We loved the location, short walk across the parking lot to the beach or the pool! Condo was very clean, could use some updating, but the price reflects that. We had everything we needed walking in the door, it felt like staying at a family members vacation house mixed with a hotel. Easy check in/out. We are already talking about coming back next year! We had seven people with us and didn’t feel crowded, lots of space to hang out together. Plus, 2 1/2 baths and lots of closet space, so plenty of space for everyone to have their stuff, and we had a lot!

Southbay 88

The location was great. Only a short walk to the pool, beach, and tennis courts. The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking appliances. Our only disappointments were the uncomfortably hard and thin mattresses, and the tiny tvs in the bedrooms. Even in the kid's room, the mattress was so creaky that we could hear every toss/turn in the night through the walls. Didn't get a lot of sleep because of this. There was also ongoing construction on an adjacent property behind the unit that started pretty early in the morning. Overall, nice place.

Everything was out dated besides stove, micro, refrigerator. No keurig, old coffee makers. Old panted over walls and decor. Just didn’t fell welcoming or a home away from home feel. Odd smell in all bathrooms. We had to put a towel down at the front door to prevent outside pests from entering we learned from the first night. Only smart tv was in living room and as we know modern times people want to have the ability to get Netflix etc on all TVs in each room. The tvs in all bedrooms was 20” or less.We rotated a box fan each night for a comfortable cool night’s sleep, after 90 degree weather. 48 per day if you wanted an umbrella with 2 beach chairs on the beach. If you brought your own you would have to be behind the paid umbrellas. The access to the beach was good and close depending on what unit you stayed in. Office staff responded quickly with ac issues.

Disappointed

I’ve stayed in Southbay all my life, but this was the first time I booked through VRBO and RealJoy Vacations. I saw that other condos were available and I thought I would give it a try. I reached out via email with some questions about a week prior to traveling and never heard back. I called about two days prior to ask those questions and the lady on the phone, though doing her job, would not pass along my questions to higher management or the homeowner. We did not receive check in instructions with the property codes and check in times until the day of. This made timing for travel on the day of more difficult. When we arrived at the property, the door was ajar and music was playing loudly. This made us feel a little unsafe. My husband had to walk in to make sure everything was okay. The company was also very inflexible about the check in and check out times even though there were no reservations before or after ours shown online. We have booked at Southbay through other companies previously and they were more willing to accommodate where possible. Additionally, we found a cockroach in the kitchen and the beds were like sleeping on concrete. I slept better on the beach and looked forward to getting back to my own bed. The exhaust fan in the master bathroom sounded like it was on its last leg. I will be staying again at Southbay but not with this company or homeowner.
