Cozy cabin, nice grove for your dog
This is a nice older style cabin set inside a secluded grove which is great for your pup traveling with you. You are right on Rt 6 but you can't hear/see the traffic due to the fence. Awesome guidebook to help find meals/fun.
However there were two items that dropped this from a five star to a three.
1. The shower is still the original shower from when the cabin was built, which is about 28 inches across, with a showerhead in an awkward position with a low ceiling and little light, making it quite claustrophobic. The fixtures are the originals, which have blackened with age. The shower caddy rested on the shower head and it was rusty and the spray hit it, making it hard to angle the water in any useful way. It just wasn't a comfortable experience for me and I wish I'd known it was the original shower.
2. There were some issues inside the property which were relatively minor, but for the price point per night of this place, kind of unacceptable. The pull out drawers in the kitchen were broken. The A/C unit in the larger bedroom was REALLY noisy. It worked, but my boyfriend was so irritated he wanted to swap the AC units between the two bedrooms. (We didn't).
Other notes: it is pet friendly but there is a list of rules you receive after you book. (Dog not allowed on furniture or bed). There were no instructions for our stay on if we were allowed to drive into the grove for loading/offloading. The parking area is about 50 feet from the cabin.
Overall- nice stay
