Located just three miles from downtown Kodiak on the shores of historic Mill Bay, A Captain's Quarters offers spacious oceanfront accommodations in a private natural setting. Whether traveling for business or pleasure, relax and enjoy. Let our house be your home away from home.

All Private Amenities:

A Captains quarters caters to only one group at a time. This means you get the whole place to yourself, whether a party of 2 or a group of up to 8. Enjoy all private amenities including your own: kitchen, living room, bathroom, 3 bedrooms, laundry room, large oceanfront deck with beach access, entrance and parking. Other amenities include: TV with Roku, to sign in with your favorite streaming apps and free Wifi. Owners live in the upper floor. Meals are not provided, but you have a fully appointed private kitchen. It feels like you're at a remote Alaska resort, but you're within walking distance of shopping, dining and Fort Abercrombie State Historical Park.

Activities:

World class salmon and halibut fishing, sight seeing, wildlife viewing, hiking, biking, kayaking, SCUBA diving, photography and much more are all right outside your door. Explore Kodiak on your own, or arrange for guided tours and charters available locally.

Perfect Spot for Long Stay in Kodiak

Lon's place in Kodiak is just perfect for a few days or a week or more of exploring and fishing the Kodiak area. Conveniently located just outside downtown overlooking the bay it has everything you need for an extended stay. This was my second time staying here and hope to be back.

The property was as described. The layout was ideal. We loved the decks and the view. The home was quite comfortable and relatively well stocked. We loved taking the trail to the beach each morning and watching the sea life and the other wildlife, especially the bald eagle pair. We would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Kodiak.

Great Place to Stay in Kodiak

Lon's property in Kodiak is ideally situated to enjoy the benefits of being near town while still being very private. The views are stunning and we found the place just right for our group. Lon was extremely patient with our questions and helped get us oriented to Kodiak. All in all a great place for an extended stay in Kodiak and Lon is a great host.

One of the best spots on the island!!!!!

This rental is the lower half of a large home on the bluff. The view is beautiful with wildlife and sunsets off any side of the huge deck!!! Theres a cute trail to go beach combing, with tons of shells and fossils. It was super clean, and easy to get town. Kodiak is an amazing island, and I cant wait to go back!

Fantastic views

The house was just as listed with the beautiful views and the path to the beach. There are ropes along the trail to assist with the steep climb. House was clean and full of amenities including washer & dryer. We loved our time at this beautiful property.

Wedding weekend

We stayed here for a week. Very spacious, comfortable place! Lon was very friendly and easy to work with. Another bathroom (even a half) would make this place even better but we made it work! Thanks, Lon for your quick responses and enjoyed chatting with you and Kobi!

Beautiful

I could not have asked for more. This house on the ocean in a little bay was so serene. This was my first time back home in almost 50 years and what a wonderful place to welcome me back. It was just my son and myself, his first trip here. My first night there I sat on the bench on the mossy covered hillside and watched the sea lions play off shore with the binoculars Lon provided. Both my son and I were exhausted from our long trip so we went to take naps on the cooooomfy couches and I sort of slept through the entire night! Big house, 3 good sized bedrooms with black out curtains, decent sized kitchen. I did end up meeting Lon and his sweet doggoe. The house is on a cliff with a fabulous deck and a lovely hiking trail next door that takes you right up to the edge of this sea cliff covered in wildflowers. I just wish he had a washer and dryer for use, since we muddied our clothes hiking Barometer. I intend on bringing my husband back in a few years and I definitely want to stay in this home again.

Great place, even better owner.

Great property right on the ocean with beautiful view. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Lon went out of his way to communicate with us before and during the stay. Additionally, he had great communication during an earthquake and gave solid guidance on what to do. Overall, one of the best owners we have dealt with via VRBO. Will stay with him again if we can get in!

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful stay at A Captain’s Quarters! Everything was great! Easy check-in, well equipped, lovely deck w amazing views! There is a great little trail right beside the house. It is very close to grocery and shops in Kodiak. Lon was great! Very welcoming and knows Kodiak very well! Would definitely stay again!

Great View

Lon was a great host. Place was clean, within a short drive to everywhere on Kodiak. We even snorkel down on the beach. Lon also let us borrow his fishing poles. Thank you Lon! We all enjoyed our stay at A Captain’s Quarters

Located at the end of a private and secluded road, aptly called Woodland Dr, the quiet and natural setting is so relaxing you feel like your in a remote location but only 5 minutes from downtown.

We have traveled all over Alaska and find Kodiak to be absolutely our favorite place to be.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Step outside your door and your at the beginning of the Spruce Cape trail that runs 1/3 mile out the cape along the coast. Wildlife and scenery are spectacular. Eagles, otters and whales are frequently seen and occasionally bears! During July and August you wake to the sound of salmon splashing close to shore, just teasing you to catch them. It's always fun to hook one before breakfast. In the summer, the sun doesn't set until 11PM. The sunsets viewed from the oceanfront deck are unbelievable!
