Enjoy the rugged beauty and pristine wilderness of Alaska's Emerald Isle alongside the comfort and amenities of home! Our home sleeps up to 6 people and features all new appliances and furnishings. Look outside to see the striking view of a busy ocean channel that feeds the second largest fishing port in the United States! Whether hunting, fishing, sightseeing, or more you will love your stay at our house. Also, if you need a rental vehicle we have two trucks ready for use! The trucks are available during summer month at $139/day. Inquire with owner for availability during your stay.

Clean & Convenient

The location was perfect for our needs. Quick easy drives to downtown, the store, and all the attractions. And, all with a view! Great host, and great all-around stay.

Perfect Stay in Kodiak

Beautiful location with a view of fishing boats coming and going, impeccably clean and thoughtfully laid out, responsive host. What more can be said? This was our second stay here and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else on a return visit.

Wonderful stay on Kodiak Island

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Catch. Stephen is a terrific host and a really nice guy. Both the views from the house and location are fantastic to see and fully immerse yourself in the beauty of Kodiak Island. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that it was difficult for me to figure out how to unlock the door after entering the code. Thankfully i had someone in my group who could and Kodiak is safe enough that we left the door unlocked most of the time we were there

We enjoyed our stay at this home in Kodiak. Great communication. Good views and channel watching from the porch and everything you need in the home. Close to downtown and airport.

Home away from Home

Host was accessible before and during our stay. Home was easy to find, close to walk downtown, fish nearby streams, and condiments already in the home made cooking for the three of us a breeze. Appreciated the laundry facilities and entry area where we could suit up and get out of wet gear. Highly recommend this VRBO.

Clean, well furnished. Even had sharp knives. Great deck. Good view of the channel and boats going by. Very cordial and responsive host. We would stay there again.

Thanks for a great place to stay.

We were in Kodiak for our Grandsons wedding. The Catch is a comfortable place to stay and Stephen is a great host. We enjoyed watching the boat traffic and seeing Loons and Eagles from our deck. Sadly we could not use the fireplace. We would have enjoyed this as it was rainy and chilly while we visited. We also rented our vehicle from Stephen, an added bonus.

Enjoy your morning coffee and watch the boats head out for the day!

This house provides each visitor with everything they need! Spacious living areas, comfortable beds, a great kitchen and a beautiful view of the water. The kitchen is fully stocked so you can prepare the halibut you caught that day! Another huge plus...location! Close to downtown Kodiak or for that quick run to the grocery store. This rental is perfect. The large picture windows are a bonus! We enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you!

Great stay in Kodiak, Great house

My family of five (wife and I, two kids, my mom) had a wonderful week in Kodiak. Beautiful island, great hiking, fishing, and of course, bears! House was comfortable, well-located, and as described on site -- updated with modern kitchen, great living room, nice water views, etc. Owner was great to work with and even shared some Halibut from a recent catch. I appreciated that the kitchen was well-equipped and the owner even provided a cooler for fishish. Definitely recommend.

Perfect place!!

We loved this property so much! First impression: walking up to it from the outside, you can see through your windows to the Bay before even entering the house. Once inside, it is so open! Comfy round chair set up to look out over the bay. Plenty of room for our 6 travelers and close to everything! Awesome deck and all the cookware you need (and more). I inquired about dropping off luggage since we were in on an early flight. We were given early check-in which was so nice after traveling! I would absolutely stay here again.

Going home

This trip was a gift to my siblings for my brothers 69th birthday. I was born in Kodiak and have not been back since we left base. My brother however has always considered Kodiak HOME. It was a joy to be able to take him home. I rented the house and our vehicle from Stephen, and a whale watching excursion. I couldn't be happier with the service he provided. Hands down the best VRBO host I have worked with.

In one word..OUTSTANDING!!!!

We rented Stephens property for a weeklong stay in Kodiak during our annual fishing trip. Over the years we've stayed in motels, but this was far more comfortable and at a comparable cost. Stephen was an excellent host and responded quickly to any questions that we had. Our party consisted of four guys and it was nice to have plenty of room for us and all our gear. Everyday we returned with wet waders and rain jackets, that were hung downstairs in the laundry/boiler room to quickly dry. A large living room, kitchen and dining room provided space to prep meals, eat and relax. The bedrooms all had plenty of space with comfortable beds. We never felt crowded and quickly got used to our home away from home. The location is extremely convenient, with parking immediately by the front door. This was important as we loaded/unloaded gear from the car everyday. We were literally just minutes from downtown and the grocery store. It was exactly what we were looking for. I would certainly use this property again for a future visit to Kodiak.

The location and size fit our group well. The view was very nice. It was great to be able to cook our catch each evening. It was easy to contact the owner and he replied quickly when I had questions.

Great Premier host in Kodiak, comes with rental car, boat tours optional, super convenient

I recommend Stephen (premier host) for Kodiak stays. He went out of his way to get us in early. He supplied us with rental car, ample coffee, chocolate and bear spray (all we needed). He was terrific. The property is a great base camp location. The deck & living area have excellent views of the channel, and walk-able to downtown. The deck was a great add. Watching boats come & go was terrific. Recommended!

Very good experience!

We stayed at The Catch 3 years ago, and were impressed enough to stay there again. We love the open living space and kitchen, and you can’t beat the view! Stephen promptly replied to our questions, and we rented a great truck from him as well. Although it is located on a fairly busy street, the place was nice and quiet. We recommend The Catch!

Great Views & Great Location!

We had a wonderful stay in Kodiak. Stephen was very helpful and responsive. We came with our kids and enjoyed using the kitchen and socializing in the great room. The views of the boats traveling in and out of the channel, the float planes taking off and landing on Near Island, and the whales feeding in the distant water made our stay extra special. We also rented the truck which made our trips to the store and coffee shops very easy. The home is in good walking distance to almost everything, but the truck was nice for getting out to our hiking spots and Safeway/Walmart. Stephen also took us whale watching one night. We had great weather and I definitely recommend taking this special boat tour. It's a great way to see the Island from a different perspective. Plus the whale watching was fantastic too.

This property is owned by Stephen and Kelli Foreman. We have been Kodiak locals for 15 years after first growing up in Nebraska. We have 3 young boys (12, 10, & 6) that keep us quite busy and entertained:) I (Stephen) work as an educator in the Kodiak Island Borough School District during the winter and captain a whale watch tour in the summer while Kelli works at the Kodiak Baptist Mission. We enjoy gill netting for salmon, long-lining for halibut, sport fishing, kayaking, backpacking, hiking, and exploring our beautiful island. We continue to be amazed and blessed to call this place home! It is with much joy that we offer you a great place to stay during your unforgettable Kodiak experience. Come and see!
