Perfectly set at 4600', this fully-updated home with a high elevation setting offers the ideal base camp for your vacation! The property is quite private, and the home offers quality finishes throughout. Entertain with delight in the sunny, open living space with long-range views overlooking the mountains. Prepare meals in the fully appointed kitchen. Rest well on premium mattresses with comfy bedding. Soak in the 6 person hot tub. Enjoy the outdoors on 2 decks, or by the fire. Close to trails!
The space
The views from this home are exceptional! Enjoy long-range vistas over layers of mountain ridges that extend to the horizon. The home also has a "treehouse" feel, offering a perfect connection to the surrounding high elevation mountain forest.

The upper level is perfect for entertaining, featuring an open-concept floor plan with a fully-updated kitchen, large dining table, cozy living room, 2 king bedrooms, en-suite full bathroom, half bathroom off the hallway, private front porch, and back deck with covered and uncovered areas to enjoy the outdoors.

The lower level features the entry foyer, second living room with large flatscreen Smart TV, king bedroom, queen bedroom with dedicated work space, full bathroom with tub/shower combo and dual sink vanity, and lower level covered deck.

The home has been recently updated and furnished by the owners who care about offering a quality guest experience! The home features hard wired internet service and two swivel-mounted Smart TVs for music and entertainment.

-Two Smart TVs with swivel mount available for guest use (access to Netflix, Hulu, Fubo TV, Disney +, etc. Guests must log into their own accounts).
-Shampoo and soap provided
-Tasteful decor
-Upper level and lower level decks to enjoy the views
-Cleaning essentials, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, etc are all supplied for guest use.

-PETS: Dogs are welcome! Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate cats. $100 pet fee covers up to 2 dogs, $200 for up to 4 dogs maximum.
-DRIVEWAY / PARKING: The home has 2 driveways which combined can offer parking for 5+ vehicles. AWD or 4WD vehicles are advised to drive up the driveway and park next to the home. 2WD vehicles can park at the turn out or the base of the driveway. During winter weather storms, it's advised to move vehicles to the bottom of the driveway near the road to easily exit after the storm concludes.
-LONGER-TERM STAYS - We welcome work from home and longer-term stays of 30+ nights. The home has a dedicated work space and hard wired WiFi for your work from home productivity. Please contact us to discuss any questions about longer term stays.
-ROAD ACCESS: The roads leading to the mountain view home are not overly steep and are easily accessible almost every day of the year by any vehicle. AWD and 4WD is recommended during any time of year. During/after winter storms, there may be icy spots on the approach roads and the driveway. AWD and 4WD is especially recommended during inclement winter weather.
-SNOW PLOWING (roads and parking): The HOA typically plows the roads after snow storms conclude. We unfortunately cannot guarantee when the roads will be plowed, however with 4WD you can generally get around.
-WILDLIFE: Deer, turkey, bears, squirrels, owls, raccoons, and other wildlife are frequently seen around the home. Please enjoy and respect the wildlife in this beautiful setting!

This was the perfect spot for a high country vacation. We chose it because of easy access to Mars Hill and Asheville but didn’t end up needing to leave the house!We had plenty of room for 4 adults and our dog and thoroughly enjoyed having access to multiple cozy living spaces with tvs, two fenced in porches with incredible views for some time outdoors and a hot tub. The whole place was clean and well-appointed, which allowed us to make all our meals for the weekend. We also loved being a very quick drive to Big Bald on the Appalachian Trail and Hatley Pointe ski resort for a coffee run. We will definitely look to stay here again in the future!

We had a wonderful time. Host was very responsive and accommodating. Very clean. Cabin was comfortable. With unexpected colder weather we were still very warm without using the gas fireplace. Lots of towels. Comfortable beds. A few small minor things but nothing that would stop us from staying again. The only thing that could use some improvement is better instructions on which door is the entry. It was dark when we arrived and couldn't see anything without the use of our cell phones along with a very steep driveway. Finding lights was a challenge. However. In the daylight it's very easy to find.

Absolutely amazing property. Loved the privacy and the views. The hot tub and firepit were brilliant and the open plan kitchen area was like being home away from home-had everything you could need to make a big family meal. The hosts are amazing-SO accomodating and helpful. I highly recommend this cabin. A perfect stay-thank you

Gorgeous View, Comfortable House

We enjoyed a week of mountain views and cool breezes in a private and comfortable setting. The house is a 70s era structure (actually built in 1980) that has been nicely refurbished - not luxurious, but tasteful and homey. We reached out to the owners with a couple of minor issues and they were very responsive! Some things to know: the house is not air conditioned, but we did not need it. It was typically 10-15 degrees cooler on that mountain than in the nearby town of Mars Hill. There were plenty of towels, but no wash cloths. And no toaster in the kitchen. Overall, we would definitely recommend this property for nice mountain getaway!

Family get together

We had a wonderful stay! House was just the right size, furnishings were fantastic, excellent kitchen to cook in. Had an excellent view and so close to Big Bald Trail! Do not skip on hiking up to the top of Big Bald it’s so close to the house!

We love Wolf Laurel because of the easy access to the Appalachian Trail and Big Bald Mountain. Skiing in winter is also a big plus! The high elevation setting makes the temperature pleasant in any season. Fall is also especially beautiful with the leaf change season! Spring is just as beautiful with trees leafing out and wildflowers emerging.

This property is unique due to the privacy offered. The home sits above the road and has long setbacks from neighbors, offering excellent privacy and quiet for your enjoyable stay. The views are excellent, spanning to the horizon line over 12+ layers of mountain ridges. The depth of the view depends on the season, temperature, and humidity. The home faces southwest, offering beautiful sunset colors in the sky.
