Fantastic accommodations with top of the line furnishings including great fireplace and flatscreen TV for the winter evenings. The views were stunning from every window. We have stayed at many VRBO over the years but this one had by far the best rental services: owner thought of absolutely everything you might need to make a stay easy and carefree. Thank you. Will be back.

I reread the previous reviews which led us to choose Sunset Retreat in the first place. They are absolutely accurate. This spot is a gem. Rather than repeat them, I’m going to touch on some other details. This upscale cottage is decorated with lovely taste and thought- it is clear that either the owners have stayed in rentals themselves or have spent some time in this one because everything has been addressed: the 3 bedrooms are equally appointed with bedside tables and lamps on both sides and terrifically organized closets with lots of capacity in addition to blackout curtains and blinds on all windows (even modern “vanity tables” with good mirrors and hot plates for hair appliances); the bathroom is fresh and appealing with lots of storage and surface areas to hold toiletries; the kitchen is modern and beautiful with new and matching utensils and dishware (iykyk) plus a full empty pantry cupboard for food you bring with you. The furniture is really comfortable (as are the beds) and there are side tables with lamps which make all seats equally usable for reading. The provision of an emergency landline is a great safety feature. Last but not least, the garbage and recycling instructions and set-up are the best we’ve ever encountered (again, iykyk). Our highest compliments to the designer. We had a relaxing and pampered stay. Thankyou.

Quiet and Gorgeous

Our family if 4 stayed here for 4 nights in late August 2025. The house was extremely clean and had everything you would possibly need for a trip to PEI. Beautiful sunsets off the porch and close enough to some great sites!

A perfect stay

This place was beautiful and had everything we needed for our stay. Amentities provided were much appreciated (washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, kids servingware, all the cookware, lawn games, bonfire pit, BBQ, streaming services on the TV, etc.) Very private and peaceful. Perfect for a family travelling with a toddler with lots of room to roam the property and hang on the deck (with a gorgeous view!!!) The drive into Souris to access local beaches, food, grocery store and other necessities was approx. 20 mins. John was incredibly responsive and answered all of my messages almost instantly. Would highly recommend and stay again 😊

My family and I had a wonderful stay in Little Pond! The house was very clean, fresh, and had everything we needed to be comfortable during our stay. The location is short driving distance to great beaches, and towns. It was the perfect mix of privacy, peace & quiet and activity. I would highly recommend this rental!

Five Star Plus

We enjoyed our four night stay at the Sunrise Retreat. The cottage was clean, comfortable, modern and exactly as pictured. The “plus” is for the hosts John and Lynn. They clearly understand travel and want to make sure you have a great experience. The digital guide book sent two weeks before our stay was excellent and we used it to help plan our trip as well as during our stay. The cottage is very well stocked and there are a lot of small touches that make you feel right at home. Would highly recommend.

Stunning views and amazing accommodations

This is truly your own private retreat. All the details have been carefully considered, a very clean and modern cottage. The experience was amazing and I would recommend this retreat for anyone, especially those looking to relax and enjoy the amazing sunrises, and sunsets!

Wonderful stay

This was a lovely place to stay with a great view of the southerly horizon. It provided a picture of the land and water both of which we could easily access. We especially loved the walk on the "flats" sand at low tide. The hosts were respectful of our privacy with all key info in their online manual provided ahead of time. They were also very communicative. The reservation process was detailed and extensive and very organized. It was enough room for 2 adults and 2 sleepy teenagers. It was sparkling clean 🙏 and organized. We made and ate all our breakfasts during our 3-night stay. The kitchen had everything we needed. We had all we needed for showering and chilling in the evenings. It is located close drive to key areas such as Souris and Greenwich. We highly recommend this place.

A Wonderful Week in PEI at Sunrise Retreat

My wife and I spent a wonderful week at Sunrise Retreat, joined by our daughter and partner for a few days in the middle of the week. The Retreat came as advertised: exceptionally well equipped (how many other rentals come with plenty of ground coffee and a salad spinner?), very clean, bright and comfortable. What a treat to walk out of the bedroom each morning to such a spectacular view! Although you can expect to drive a bit to get anywhere, there are plenty of beautiful beaches within 20 minutes. John and Lynn were terrific hosts, providing plenty of advance communication, and their downloadable Guidebook was indispensable. Sunrise Retreat is highly recommended by us!

Everything you need

If you’re seeking a peaceful retreat with a beautiful view of the PEI ocean side, this is a great choice. We had a fantastic experience, so I want to assure others that this is indeed a wonderful place. To summarize: It was a serene spot in a charming part of the island, making our beach days and family drives more enjoyable. If we visit PEI again, I would definitely return to this property. Pre-arrival: We received detailed location information well in advance, which helped us plan our trip. John provided confirmation and a link to the property website, offering essential details and local recommendations. Property Manager and Communication: John was prompt and polite, ensuring we knew he was available if needed. His care and attention made a real difference in our stay. Property: Although I was concerned about a 4:00 PM check-in after a long trip, my worries vanished once we saw the property was move-in ready. It was well-stocked and clean, with ample space and amenities. The homey feel and excellent temperature control made it a true home away from home. Location: The property was ideally located for accessing PEI’s sights while avoiding urban hustle. We enjoyed the privacy and space, though mosquitoes and the lack of a nearby grocery store were minor inconveniences. A short drive resolved the grocery issue with some planning. Despite seeming isolated on a map, the property was well-connected to local attractions. John’s recommendations were very helpful.

Great Time with Family

We had an excellent stay at the property. It was clean and is very nicely decorated. Very welcoming and you feel at home quickly. No issues with anything related to appliances, TV or WiFi. John, the host, was extremely responsive and answered any questions I had within a couple minutes. Fantastic place, couldn't recommend it more.

The location is so peaceful. A great place to stay and relax. The vacation rental was spotless, furnished thoughtfully, and extremely well equipped. We could tell that the owners really took time to make sure this was a great experience for any one staying in the rental.

Pond House

The house was exceptionally clean and well stocked with any and everything needed. The view to the water was picture perfect. The host, John, was quick to respond the two or three times I reached out to him. My family and I stayed in 5 different places on our 10 day trip to Canada/Maine. Pond House was by far the highlight of the 5. Thanks

Perfect location by the water

From the moment I drove onto the property, I felt peace. The setting is beautiful, overlooking the water. The location is rural and yet still very centrally located. The house was spotless and beautifully decorated. The hosts have thought of everything. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook. A big bbq to grill on, that was also spotless. Even an Alexa to listen to music. A super wide back deck, that looked onto the water, outfitted with Adirondack chairs. After a day of touring, a peaceful place for a glass of wine to enjoy the view and listen to the birds. This was the best stay I have had in a rental property. Thank you John for letting us share your piece of paradise.

Beautiful cottage getaway

Gorgeous retreat. Beautiful cottage and view of the bay. Close to some of the island's finest beaches. Equipped with all the amenities and more that you would require for a fabulous stay. The cottage was well designed and constructed with the best materials. The large deck was the perfect place to start and end the day watching the sunset. Thanks John and Lynn for a perfect retreat.

Wonderful getaway!

Lovely stay in this well-equipped, fresh, private, peaceful cottage. Enjoyed bar-b-q on the deck, view of Boughton Bay, and close proximity to lovely parks and beaches. Hosts were extremely helpful and accommodating. Fully recommend!
