100 meters from Lake Huron, surrounded by woodland, minutes to beautiful swimming beaches, this is the perfect place for a summer vacation. Host your family getaway, your friends weekend, or a romantic weekend for two, at The Artist’s Lakehouse. Sleeps up to 5 people.

Host was very responsive. We have stayed at vacation rentals at several places around the world and the Artist's Lakehouse did not measure up to the high standards we see everywhere we go. Lots of positives but a few basis shortcomings. The cleaning fee was 120 and kitchen was not clean. All glasses had fingerprints and/ or smudges. The light in the kitchen end of the cabin seemed to be about 40 watts (60 watts max) and was behind the working area. Cooking and washing up was a rather dim affair. If you are a light sleeper (which we are), then road noise is an issue. Listing left one with the impression that the cabin was well back from the road. The fireplace was left in a state of a failed attempt to start a fire - burnt newspaper and a couple of charges logs. There was no kindling and 4 damp matched which would not even light. Fortunately there was a BBQ lighter. The fridge is on the left side of the kitchen end of the kitchenbut is left.opening. It is a convertible fridge - a stew driver and about 20 minutes would convert it to a much more convenient right hand opening fridge. The bathroom overhead light was burnt out. The listing should emphasize more that the water is NOT potable. Several jugs of water were provided but thank goodness we brought some extra. It should also emphasize that there is no internet and no tv (just some dvds). Even mobile servic seems limited (we had Rogers). Overall we felt not good value for the price. Art is very nice.

Overall, we had a great stay at the property. Check-in was easy, and communication with the host was great. The property was tidy, decorated nicely, and had a large living/kitchen space. The fire pit was great to use at night.The property was also conveniently located near Southampton, Sauble Beach, and a Foodland for groceries. The water is not potable in the cottage, but the host provided drinking water for us, which was nice. The main cons were that the primary bedroom only has a double bed, which my husband found uncomfortable, and you can hear road noise from passing cars as the property is close to a highway. It was a little chilly during our few days there, and the bedrooms can get quite cold overnight. But aside from those few things, the property is lovely.

My family and I had a lovely time at The Artist’s Lakehouse. It is a very unique and cozy cabin, which feels like a little escape from reality! Jenna was always available to answer any questions we had. Nice experience overall.

Lovely space, with great amenities! Our family of four were very comfortable. Jenna is a very attentive host, who wants to ensure her guests have what they need. I would definitely rent the space again, if we are back in the area and need a place to stay!

A lovely experience. Jenna is a talented artist and you can enjoy her painting and poetry as you bask in this peaceful place. It's perfectly equipped for a family stay near fabulous beaches.

Family trip

Our host Jenna Rose was wonderful. She responded immediately. Directions and information were very clear. Cottage is comfy and cutely decorated. Walking distance to the beach also short drive to Sauble Beach and Southampton. We had a great stay.

Cottage rent!

I think if you rent out your cottage, taking a shower or flushing the toilet shouldn’t be an issue. If it’s yellow let it mellow????? I rent a cottage not a tent!!!!!

Wonderful cottage!

Lovely and clean cottage with a nice kitchen, large bathroom, and comfortable seating areas. Host is very responsive (and a talented artist!). It’s not on the water, but lots of options nearby for swimming.

Cozy Cottage

The cottage had everything you need to enjoy your stay. We loved the open concept cottage with a private outdoor space. It is located across the street from the beach with some road noise but the forest surrounding the cottage helped block some of it out. This cottage is in a great area with lots to do.

Peaceful and Enjoyable Stay

Our time at Jenna's cabin was well spent. We had everything we needed to cook, have a fire, enjoy some movies at night, and visit great Lake Huron beaches and parks during the day. The house is off of the highway so there is some noise from passing cars, but it did not bother us. This place and area is a gem for those who like a retreat from the city.
