Little Green Lake House

Owned and styled by an artist couple with the dream of providing a space for others to escape, reflect & feel reinvigorated by nature, this beautiful rustic lake house is nestled right on the bank of Summit Lake, deep in the Catskill Mountains.

This thoughtfully renovated 1940s cabin is perfect for couples looking for a romantic weekend getaway, small families needing a relaxing break, writers & artists seeking inspiration, or really just anyone looking for a quiet & peaceful sanctuary.
The space
A retreat to remember where tranquility and intentionality meet. Every aspect of the lake house has been carefully considered to create the perfect getaway, romantic weekend, or restorative haven.

Situated on the water's edge with ever-changing views from each window, we are located in the Catskill Mountains 1.5 hours north of Woodstock and 45 mins West of Albany. Windham, Plattekill and Hunter ski resorts are all within a 45-50 min drive.

The house is fully renovated, thoughtfully furnished, and decorated with local photography, artwork, and collections from our travels over the years.

One bedroom has a full-sized bed with expansive views of the lake. The other is an endearing loft space with a queen bed & HDTV. Both are cabin sized rooms, charmingly decorated & designed to provide a boutique resting experience. Furnished with deluxe mattresses and linens, the tranquility of the lake is only occasionally pierced by the hoot of a night owl or the wind whistling through the pines. Guests report having not slept so well in years!

We have intentionally created an additional room for luggage and clothes with plenty of hanging space and a dresser, so resting space in the bedrooms is not compromised or cluttered. You will also have a dedicated workspace with a desk, and brand new laundry facilities to use.

Our bathroom reno was centered around the porcelain sink designed and crafted by Mexican ceramicist Gorky Gonzalez. From the clawfoot tub to the heated floors and dimmable lights, you will lack nothing in order to relax and unwind to your heart's content.

You will have at your disposal a propane fireplace, comfy couch, cozy recliners, original Farmiture coffee table, reading nooks, fast wifi, HD streaming, a fully equipped kitchen with coffee and tea station, ceramic pots and pans and an outdoor grill.

The spacious garden area has outdoor amenities that include a large deck overlooking the lake with fire pit and grill, a meditation garden, a hammock from heaven, a picnic table on the waters edge, two docks, a kayak and a rowboat for your enjoyment- wine on the lake at sunset comes highly recommended!

Read and write while overlooking the lake. Practice yoga next to the fireplace. Breathe the mountain air and watch the local wildlife, including our resident eagle!

* Please note: All-wheel drive vehicle is important in the winter (November- March) in case of heavy snowfall.

All guests booked through have full access to the property, all equipment and amenities. Additional guests (friends of guests) need to be approved by the hosts in advance.
