Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you found the cottage clean and nicely decorated. For clarity for future guests, a temporary electricity issue was reported late morning and we immediately arranged for an electrician to attend the property. The property was vacated shortly before the electrician arrived and the issue was resolved later that afternoon. While the matter was being investigated we also offered nearby alternative accommodation; however, this was declined as the guests had already chosen to leave. The cottage is in an excellent location close to Lymington High Street and many of our guests comment on how convenient it is for exploring the town and surrounding area. While the property is positioned on a road with passing traffic during the day, it benefits from noise-reducing glazing and the area becomes very quiet during the evening and overnight. With regard to the items left behind, the property had a back-to-back booking immediately afterwards, so they could not be retrieved straight away. We informed the guest that the items would be returned by post and offered both complimentary standard postage or a tracked service at cost. Following the stay we made several goodwill offers in an effort to resolve the matter, including alternative accommodation during the issue, a complimentary future night, and a significant refund offer relating to the second night. These offers were declined and the guest indicated that a negative review would be left if a full refund was not provided. We believe it is important to respond transparently so that future guests have a clear and accurate picture of what occurred. We always aim to resolve issues promptly and fairly and regret that on this occasion a mutually agreeable outcome could not be reached
