The home really felt like home. There is a wonderful kitchen with an abundance of cooking utensils and spices etc...There are also many extras you would not normally find in most rentals.The location is excellent and very close to Woodstock. We loved the country roads and pastoral rolling hills and farmland. So many rustic barns and colonial homes that takes you back to another time. The home is also easy to find with good directions from the owner. The home is very comfortable with sofas and chairs around the gas fireplace. The spiral stairs to the loft was a little tricky for us being in our 70's. So I was very careful.All in all a lovely place to spend anytime of the year...we especially enjoyed the changing leaves at the end of October.

We loved our trip to Woodstock and would highly recommend this vacation home. It is tucked away in the woods which made our stay peaceful and so relaxing but it was also just 2 miles outside of Woodstock which made it convenient to everything we wanted to do. This home had everything we needed and our hosts were so helpful. The home had so many unique features including massive windows looking out into the forest; beautiful tile floors, spiral staircase to a sleeping loft, and a stained glass window which was very cool! We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful spot -- loved using the sauna! Owners extraordinarily responsive on any question and issue. If you are looking for a quiet, expansive and uniquely comfortable space in this part of the world, this is the one!

Falcon House is a beautiful property that feels remote but isn’t-a great home base for exploring the area and equipped with absolutely anything you could possibly need. The quiet, beautiful, peaceful setting was perfect for our group. Kat was a fantastic host!

Wonderful cozy home, super welcoming and personalized. Lovely fireplace, comfortable beds and couches. Well appointed kitchen w basics stocked.Sauna is an added bonus (read the instructions!). Property outdoors is very coolAnd fun to explore. Hosts were super accessible and quickly treated the drive and walks after an ice storm.

Relaxing

We had a wonderful relaxing time at Falcon house. The house was clean, just as listed, and had everything we needed to make for an enjoyable relaxing time. Really enjoyed the scenery and walking around Woodstock.

This was a memorable and fun filled trip. The falcon house chalet is lovely. You can tell the things inside were carefully curated, and the surrounding woods, Finnish sauna, babbling brook made it so comfortable, we didn't want to leave. We made good use of the bikes and enjoyed many activities nearby. We highly recommend falcon house for a chill Vermont vacation. Kat, the host was lovely, made sure we had all we needed and she was in contact via text in case we had questions.

Lovely chalet

Kat and Matt are gracious and attentive hosts. They went out of their way to make sure the driveway was plowed and the walkways shoveled. The lovely chalet is cozy yet spacious. I especially loved the gas fireplace! The kitchen is well appointed, everything you need. Great home in any season, highly recommended. Plenty of things to do, great restaurants Especially recommend a visit to the VINS!!!

Wonderful vacation retreat

This vacation rental is a great home away from home. The kitchen has every appliance and cookware needed to make a gourmet dinner or just a nice lunch. The living area furniture is comfortable, and there is nothing like sitting in front of the gas fireplace on a cool evening. The mattress on the king in the master bedroom is the most comfortable I've slept on in a long time. This is one of the nicest places we've stayed in and we've rented a lot of condos. The only thing we didn't like, and it was spelled out in the description that I didn't read, is that the master is on the loft that is accessed by a spiral staircase. Other than that, it was perfect and I would recommend staying there.

Our stay at Falcon House over Wassail Weekend was a truly magical experience from start to finish. Nestled at the edge of a tranquil forest with snowy scenery all around, the chalet offered the perfect blend of peaceful privacy and convenient proximity to town. Falcon House is perched beside serene trails, a year-round brook, and evergreen woods — it felt like stepping into a winter postcard. The chalet itself is wonderfully charming and impeccably maintained, with thoughtful design and warm, inviting spaces that made relaxing after our village adventures an absolute delight. Whether enjoying a quiet moment beside the fireplace or taking in the snow-draped trees from the windows, every moment felt restorative.What truly set our stay apart was our host, Kat. From the moment we booked, her communication was exceptional — clear, friendly, and full of helpful suggestions for local dining and Wassail Weekend festivities. Her tips led us to some delightful meals and experiences around town that we might’ve missed otherwise.We also loved waking up to the peaceful sounds of birds among the evergreens and the fresh, crisp air that only a Vermont winter can bring. It was the perfect retreat — private yet just minutes from charming Woodstock and all the Wassail fun.We can’t recommend Falcon House highly enough and are already looking forward to our next stay!

Awesome get away

The rental was even better then expected. The sauna was a relaxing feature and delightful . Master bedroom was spectacular with its view of the stars.

Quick getaway to Vermont

This was a perfect location for an early fall getaway. Beautiful location and a fantastic home. Kat was a great host and things couldn’t have better.

Five Star Plus!!!

Honestly, this is one of the nicest properties we’ve ever rented. Here are the highlights… 1. The custom built cabin is a work of art. The enclose spiral staircase is constructed with wooden pegs instead of nails or screws. It’s actually fun to go upstairs and downstairs. The layout is perfect and the two bedrooms are very comfortable and private…great for we two couples in our seventies who frequently travel together. The beds are comortable and the bathrooms spacious. The kitchen is large. 2. The cabin is well appointed. Everything is “top shelf” from the kitchen appliances, to the cutlery and dish ware, to the art on the walls. It seems more like someone’s home than a rental property. The many things such as bicycles, etc. that are advertised are actually there for one’s use. 3. The location is wonderful. It’s close to the quaint village of Woodstock yet tucked away in the woods and on the lovely river, affording much privacy. It’s rare to find these two attributes together. 4. The owners, Kat and Matt, are “hands on” hosts. Kat personally showed up within minutes to address some minor issues (a smoke alarm needing a battery and a brief power outage.). And when she showed up, there was something about her that made you feel comfortable, as though you had known her for some time…the kind of person you’d like to have for a friend. The guide for guests Kat and Matt constructed should be used as a template for other VRBO properties…it almost looked professionally constructed…very helpful All in all, we had a wonderful 5 nights at this lovely cabin. The only negative I can think of is that this rental was so good, that other places we’ll stay in the future will be hard pressed to live up to this one. Thank you, Kat and Matt, for giving us this wonderful experience. Phil & Mary (and Cliff & Beth).

We loved the property. The kitchen came very well stocked with utensils, dishware, etc. Kat was extremely responsive and helpful with both questions about the area and the house. We had no issues at all.

Great Vacay at Falcon House

Loved the house and property! Everything we could have wanted and then some. Used to want a hot tub at our 2nd home but now I think we want a sauna. Loved cooking with the cast iron and also enjoyed that there was a crock pot to utilize for the day we went to Silver Lake to go fishing (a catfish was the best catch of the day). The grill was awesome. Everything well maintained. Beds and pillows comfortable. Loved having the windows open overnight and hearing the running water. That was my fave! Well that and the Sauna. So much to like here. Was a great time away from home and a solid Vermont getaway. Refreshing!

Absolutely Perfect

Falcon House was absolutely perfect for our Vermont getaway! The online property guide was spot on accurate and provided everything we needed to get prepared to come (and this basically entailed us only needing to bring clothing and hiking shoes)! The photos are all accurate but didn't describe just how at home the set up is. Kat & Matt have everything arranged in a way that enables relaxation; this includes the furniture layout, the really cozy couch by the fire, and the bedrooms that have beds and beddings that enable a fantastic nights sleep. On the clear nights we could see the stars from the loft bedroom right before we slept; something not possible in PA. We love hiking and were very pleased with the vast trails right outside the door that traversed the mountain and many babbling streams indicative of spring in Vermont! We warmed ourselves by the outside firepit and saw many shooting stars without any effort. The Sauna outside (& many thanks for the spa robes) was an added feature that warmed us up after the cold hikes early in the stay. We highly recommend this location when heading to Woodstock VT!

A Perfect Getaway

We were looking for quiet place to relax and enjoy a bit of the outdoors. Falcon House did not disappoint us. It was exactly what we needed. The house is beautiful and a perfect place to relax. We definitely plan to visit again.

Simply perfect!

What a lovely property, nestled in the woods with a stream just outside the pack door. Everything about the listing was just as described. Kat was a wonderful host, very responsive when I reached out- both prior to our trip and during our stay. This was our first trip to VT, and we’d love to come back during the summer to experience the loveliness of Woodstock then!

Gorgeous Getaway, close to everything

We had a lovely week at this house for our anniversary. Everything was clean and easy to find! There was plenty of firewood to use and plenty of property to explore on the trails. It was a short distance to Woodstock center as well. There was more traffic on this road than I was anticipating and the trash guy came to collect the trash at the house unexpectedly around 6pm on a Wednesday, but other than that this house was a great escape.
