Awesome place!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stars Align Cottage! We particularly enjoyed the beautiful porch. As well as the hot tub! The cottage was comfortable, clean and well stocked. I loved that there were plenty of towels as well. The main floor was roomy and had comfy furniture and plenty of seating for family! The decor was nice too! We will definitely be back!

Weekend at Stars Align in Big Canoe

The home is beautiful and well maintained. The pantry contained a few essentials that we very much appreciated as we had forgotten to bring a couple of things. The screened in back porch is lovely and relaxing in the hot tub was the perfect end to our busy days while there. I would definitely love to return soon!

Beautiful cabin in woods

Beautiful place and well appointed. Make sure you hit the grocery store and have everything you need because it’s a very windy road into the area so not easy to run out for something forgotten. That being said it’s very quiet and peaceful as well.

Luxury Tree House

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our week in this luxury home set in the woods of Big Canoe. The peace and quiet and the relaxing forest views were exactly what we needed. Owners were very easy to work with. Cabin had everything we needed or could think of needing. More than enough space for just us 2 but could easily see this accommodating 2 families if so desired. Highly recommend and would stay again if visiting Big Canoe in the future.

Perfect Getaway for a "Reset"

This stay was absolutely wonderful!!! an abundance of options for comfort throughout the entire home. Stocked with all the utensils you could need for cooking every day and I love to cook!!! They even provided some beginner cleaning products so that you don't have to go into town every time you need something. I took this little mini trip with a friend and it felt like a romantic get away with room to spare. Will DEFINITELY be booking this cottage again in the near future for an entire week at least.

Fantastic house in a great community

We arrived in the area never having heard of Big Canoe before, and we were very surprised at the natural beauty that surrounds this community. When we arrived at the house everything was just as expected and fantastic. The house was immaculate and the pictures are exactly what you get. Our kids enjoyed watching the deer run through the ravine in back and the separate TV area on the bottom floor. The adults enjoyed the open floor plan with everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Everyone in our party stated how much they liked the house.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the property, but several frustrations stemmed from the property management. We received two different check-in times and two different sets of checkout instructions, which was confusing. The most frustrating issue was the Wi‑Fi. The network information provided to us was incorrect, and since there was no cell service at the house, we had to drive about 15 minutes back to the main road to contact management. We were told to reset the modem, but that didn’t solve the problem. Eventually, we noticed a completely different Wi‑Fi network listed on the refrigerator, which worked. When we shared this with management, they responded with a simple “thanks,” without any acknowledgment or apology for the time we wasted troubleshooting. We were also disappointed to learn upon arrival that pets were only allowed on the main level. That’s a reasonable rule, but it should have been clearly disclosed in the listing.

Thanks for the 4‑star review and for the detailed feedback. I’m very sorry for the confusion from receiving different check‑in/check‑out instructions, for the Wi‑Fi issues that forced you to drive for cell service, and for the curt response you received, that’s not the experience we want for our guests. We will review our messaging, correct the modem/network details and refrigerator signage, and make the pet policy (main level only) much clearer in the listing. Thanks again for staying with us and for letting us know; we appreciate the feedback and hope to host you again.

We've visited Big Canoe many times and stayed in several different homes. This is the 2nd time we've stayed at Stars Align. We love this place! The management company, on the other hand, we do NOT love. 6 hours before our arrival time, I received a text saying I hadn't signed the key code document. Well, that would be because it was never sent! I logged on to VRBO 5 hours before arrival and there was nothing for me to sign, so I thought the text was an error.Upon arrival at the gate of Big Canoe, they did not have my name on the list, even though I booked the reservation and replied twice to the message providing the list of names. Then, I couldn't get in to the house, because I hadn't signed the document that was never sent to me or that was available on the website for me to sign. After waiting for 30 minutes on hold and another 25 minutes for a call back, I figured it out. Then, I spent 30 minutes trying to get logged in to the wifi, only to find that the information that was provided to me was completely incorrect and no one had bothered to update it!The company allowed us a late check-out as compensation, which was very nice. We'd like to stay here again, but am very hesitant to do so if the same management company is involved.

Quiet mountain retreat

Wonderful property! The kitchen was well stocked with essentials, there’s plenty to do (board games, movies, the hot tub!), lots of towels. The furnishings are nice and the tv’s are new / smart tvs. Outside, you can see deer and birds! You are nestled in the forest.

Such a comfortable cottage

We spent a month here and really can’t say enough good things. The house is beautiful and feels cozy…like a real home instead of a sterile rental. It also has a very well equipped kitchen if you like to cook. We really enjoyed relaxing on the screened in deck and using the hot tub. This house is perfect for family gatherings. There’s plenty of room for everyone but still has some separation to get away. We very much enjoyed our time here and hope to come back again one day!

Stars Align Cottage

We loved our stay. Cottage was perfect. We loved the hammock, how functional the space was and the layout of the house. It was perfect for my family. My kids loved the hammock and the TV in the screened in patio. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. It was just perfect. This has to be our favorite cabin at Big Canoe. We have stayed many times at different cabins but we just loved everything about this one. We also loved how private it was. Would stay here again.

Beautiful Place to stay!

This was our first time to stay at Big Canoe. It is a really beautiful place. This home is vey beautiful and comfortable. It felt like being in a tree house. We saw turkeys and deer on the property and the hot tub was such a nice treat. The Beach Club was a little pricey. It was 20$ a person, and one day of comp wrist bands would have been nice. Also, communication was not the best. It was like dealing with a third party and having to wait a long time for a response. I got an email the day of in ALL CAPS (kinda seems like yelling) telling me to give them the full names and ages of all guests, I didn't find that very welcoming. Overall, I would recommend this place, It is very comfortable and beautiful. We appreciated the extra items in the kitchen- spices, foil, ect., as we cooked in most of the time.

We understand the ALL CAPS email seems like yelling, but years of experience in Big Canoe has shown us that the worst start to a vacation is arriving at the Big Canoe Gate and not being allowed in because you'd missed the fine-print about submitting all names to our gate system before entry. That creates a fire drill for the gate staff, the admin staff and the renter who just wants to get on with some R&R. Our intent is not to yell, but rather grab your attention to something that will help you. (We had already sent you multiple emails requesting the names.)

Amazing property

We booked this property on a whim to visit GA for a quick get away and it was absolutely amazing. The photos online do not so this home justice AT AL!!!! It’s gorgeous, very spacious, clean, warm and inviting. I can’t go on enough about how perfect this home is, the kids loved exploring the woods around us while the adults enjoyed winding down in the hot tub. Nothing was spared when setting this property up with all the amenities and accessories you didn’t even know you wanted in a rental home. The owners have done such a great job at creating a beautiful welcoming home. We can’t wait to come back
