Guests love the coziness and cleaness of the home. The open floor plan and loft bedroom make the home feel larger and open. Real stone fireplace in the living area, private outdoor upstairs balcony, and back porch overlooking the woods and beautiful sunsets allow guests several spots to relax, meditate, or converse.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all new appliances including stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, blender, toaster, coffeemaker, and Keurig. Granite countertops.

Living room has a couch and two chairs with smart television. The open ceilings and rock fireplace(natural gas) make this space cozy and relaxing.

A king bed in the large, main floor spacious bedroom has blackout shades for late mornings. The downstairs bath has a commode, 5ft vanity with granite countertops, and full tub with shower.

Upstairs loft has a twin and queen bed with a balcony. Upstairs has an outside covered balcony for two people for morning coffee and reading. Upstairs bathroom has a small vanity, commode, and bathtub - no shower. The upstairs bathroom has a sloped roofline making it more idea for smaller children but still usable for adults.

Private back porch sitting. Large flat yard. This property is a duplex with another similar unit attached. The other side is also available for rent thru VRBO which makes great when traveling with a larger group but want separate lodging option. Outdoor stacking block game available. Charcoal grill available. Close to Amish Country. Ten minutes from McMinnville and Morrison. If you are looking for peace and quiet you have found it.

Great little place!

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was just as described and had everything we needed. We come to the area regularly, and would/will definitely stay again.

The host, Beth was very responsive and it was most appreciated. We were very comfortable and loved the gas fireplace and sitting on the covered patio. We were there for a week and would love to come back again.

Great place to relax

Had a great time, clean, green and quiet place to relax with good parking space. Owner is very cooperative and helpful. Situated close to McMinnville town and 30 min drive to Isha Institute of Inner Sciences.

Great home away from home

This place is like coming home ! We enjoyed our time here so much that we plan on making it a stop when we travel that way yearly ! The cottage is spacious, great beds and sparkling clean, and Beth and her husband were available to answer our questions right away.. I highly recommend them !

Our hosts were very easy to work with as we set up our stay. They were charitable and very friendly! The place is so well kept and extremely suited for my family's needs. Comfortable, clean and quiet! Thank you so much for a great place to feel more at home even when we are so far from home!

We were visiting our grandson at MTU. Would have liked better lighting (lamps) in living area, not the overhead lighting.

I am sorry about the lighting. If the fan light was only on, the living room is darker; however, you may have overlooked the recessed lights in the ceiling which are on a separate light switch which makes the room very bright. Again, thank you for your suggestion.

Great small getaway

Just a weekend getaway from the city life. Great cabin/cottage close to beautiful Stone Door, Rock Island, and Fall Creek Falls. Definitely worth the trip. Very clean, and great fast communication. The silent nights and sunsets were amazing.

This cabin was a sweet surprise - you know that online pics can be deceiving - not in this case! It was clean, comfortable and quiet. Highly recommend! The hosts were extremely accommodating - the best experience!

Perfect Home Away From Home

The Rooted Retreat- Cozy Cabin is the perfect home away from home. It is very clean. The homey decor is welcoming. Easy check-in and entry to the cabin. Quiet neighborhood. It has all the basics needed to cook meals (which we took advantage of) even a large variety of spices. At night we would sit in front of the warm and cozy fireplace. We will gladly stay again at the cabin when in the area.

Beautiful cabin in a peaceful setting

I was in TN for work in Smyrna and wanted to stay in a country setting. This place was perfect! The hour drive to and from Smyrna was easy and relaxing through some beautiful country. I would suggest a couple amenities that would be helpful, such as a chef's knife (couldn't cut a crusty loaf easily), steak knives and a hair dryer. to deal breakers, but helpful. We will definitely stay here again when I return to Smyrna.

Clean + Quiet + Cozy = Perfect place to stay!

If a clean, quiet and cozy place to stay is what you want, then you can’t go wrong staying at the cabin. It has all the comforts of home with a cozy fireplace to curl up by and read a good book.. We had a couple of warm days and took full advantage of sitting outside watching squirrels and listening to the birds sing. It is away from the hustle and bustle but close to recreational opportunities and restaurants. Great communication with the host. Easy check-in. This is our second time staying here and would gladly stay again!

Basket Weaving week with Eric Taylor

A lovely stay for our basket weaving week. Check in and check out was smooth as communicated through VRBO account. The property was clean and well kept and supplied with amenities as described. Beds and furniture was comfortable with adequate space for the 3 adults on our trip. The upstairs bath headroom is a bit limited as described. We corresponded with the owner prior to departure of the keypad door lock that likely needed a new battery. Enjoyed the evening firefly’s, a couple of glowing sunsets, a glorious full moon rise, and a couple of rain showers. The AC kept the space comfortable and quiet during the Tennessee summer heat and humidity. Would love to stay here again.

clean and cozy

The stay was good we only stayed two of the four days because family live two hours away and we wanted to spend the last day with them. The first day we missed because of flight cancelation (tornados). The second bathroom had no shower, and kitchen had no waste basket. Outside the patio had no table at all just some wood blocks to rest a drink on very unstable. The ice maker was not working but they had ice trays but if you wanted ice the first day you have to wait about 5 hours.

Thank you for staying with us. Last weeks weather was super stormy in Tennessee. An outside table for the porch would be a great addition and will be added. The wooden blocks are a game called Jenga for our guests to enjoy. On the ice, we can definitely have some waiting for guest. The kitchen garbage can is kept under the sink sorry that it was not visible. Thank you for the suggestions! Hope the next visit to Tennessee has better weather. Thank you for your review.

November stay

House location was good. Had a ladybug problem, Advertised two bedroom two bath. But it was one bedroom and a loft. The loft bathroom is made for a child not for adult. The mattress queen size needs to be replaced. My friend had to use the twin bed. The kitchen is not well equipped no plastic baggies no creamer for the coffee no wrapping parchment paper, Yeah, no cookware that you can use in the microwave. The dish got burning hot. When cooking on the stove or cooking in the oven, the fire alarm would always go off. It was very annoying.. Other than that, we had a fantastic visit and a great time! Yeah

We are locals who have a small nursery in the area. We love kayaking the Barren Fork River and hiking the local state parks. Hosting allows us to allow people to come to town to see their families and friends or just relax in our sweet county.

We have always loved this place and the beautiful yard. Centertown area is one of our favorite areas of the county. Close to Crisp Springs Market, Praters BBQ, and Four Corners Market are restaurants. The Amish community is close by with their fruits, veggies, and hand made crafts. Also, the property is minutes from McMinnville, less than an hour from Murfreesboro and Cookeville, and less than two hours from Chattanooga and Nashville but yet so quiet and peaceful

This cabin just brings a calmness and restfulness when you enter. The 1320 square feet is cozy yet is open space. The back porch just allows you to sit and talk and be.
