Gorgeous remodeled one-bedroom English basement apartment located in historic home built in 1895. Queen bed in bedroom and additional couch/ pull-out bed in living room. Fully stocked kitchen with all modern appliances. Washer and dryer available. Conveniently located only 2 short blocks from the green/ yellow metro line. You really don't need a car and in fact parking is very competitive. The DC government has an on-line system for owners to request guest parking passes. It is quite cumbersome so bringing a car is discouraged but if you need the parking pass it is available for an extra fee.

In the middle of Washington's most trendy neighborhood. You can walk to restaurants, bars, health clubs, supermarkets, public transportation, and boutique shops. Enjoy the vibrancy of this exciting and historic neighborhood within an easy walk or metro ride to the white house and all major monuments.

The host responded quickly and with detailed information. She was accommodating and informative about the unit. The unit is comfortable and in an excellent location ...convenient to restaurants, a grocery, transportation and shops. The host provides extra toiletries and laundry detergent, etc We the ave stayed there several times.

Cute apartment close to Transportation

Older home with updated basement apartment. Only about 2 blocks from bus or Metro to sites and monuments. Good choice of restaurants within walking distance. Easy communication with owner.

Great Location

This was a great location, close to the metro and lots of restaurants. Host was responsive. The bathroom could have been cleaned better as there was hair on the floor and walls that wasn't ours. The beds could definitely use new pillows and some extra blankets (I asked host for an extra blanket and got it quickly). Overall, it was fine for our family of 3.

As this is our second stay at this property says it all! Great location, good communication with property mgr. Nice neighborhood and close to everything. Great kitchen, bedroom and clean! Looking forward to our next visit later this year!

Great apartment and location

Fantastic location, close to grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops. Walkable to DC landmarks. Dara is very responsive. I had to have something shipped to the apartment and she let me know when it was delivered, very nice of her to let me know. Would stay here again.

Great Location

The property is as advertised. Close to metro which gets you to anywhere in DC area. We needed a car for our trip to VA, but not recommended or necessary for touring DC. My son has mobility challenges and was able to walk the large block to metro easily. Stairs into unit air steep and small, but doable. Bed and pullout couch were comfortable. Sleep masks were helpful for sleeping in living room—city lights. Property had everything we needed. Area felt safe and there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance. We would stay here again. Host was also very helpful and responsive. Perfect for our trip.

Perfect location, great home away from home

This basement apartment was perfect for a week exploring DC. The home had all amenities including a washer and dryer and we were able to cook some meals.

Great location

We had a great stay. Highly recommend. The apartment is located right next to Metro and bus lines. It’s a quick trip on the Metro to the mall. 14th street has lots to offer in the way of food and nightlife. Walgreens and Trader Joe’s are a short walk away. The street itself was surprisingly quiet for such a busy area so it was easy to fall asleep, stay sleep and sleep in. The dishes and utensils needed to be washed before using, the dishwasher may need repair, otherwise the apartment was very clean. The host was responsive to questions and the check in check out processes are easy and clear.

Great location

We loved the location of this apartment. Five-minute walk to the Metro; an easy walk to shops, restaurants, stores. At first glance the apartment is true to its description, although we thought the fireplace that was advertised would be a working one (it's decorative, with quite a bit of debris in it). The cleaning ahead of our arrival was cursory. The floors were dirty, some of the plates and silverware needed to be rewashed, and the bathmat hadn't been laundered. We were grateful for the washer & dryer and detergent -- a helpful perk! We had planned to do some cooking in the apartment, but most of the cookware was warped and the nonstick coating scratched -- definitely needs replacement! And there are no microwavable plates or bowls, only acrylic, which can't be microwaved. You do hear the owners moving about above, and we knew that ahead of time. Fortunately we generally woke up and went to bed when they did. The apartment is a nice size and had other good amenities -- the things that were problematic can easily be rectified for a perfect stay!

Great Neighborhood Spot

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dana's property. It is well equipped and in a wonderful spot. She was great to work with and accommodating to our needs. Super easy access. Walking distance to most downtown activities and easy Metro (1 1/2 blocks) and bus service (1 block) to everywhere you want to go.

Felt Like Home

The apartment was even nicer than what we expected based on the photos. We like the modern style and enjoyed the many thoughtful touches. The neighborhood is lovely and close to restaurants the metro with easy access to the mall. Don’t plan on sleeping late—the folks upstairs are up early. Wasn’t a problem for us, but something to be aware of to set your expectations. We would definitely stay here again.

Washington DC Basement Apartment

The property is as described in the listing. I did not see this in the listing so here is everything i found. There is a pull out bed in the living eoom so 4 people could stay here. All the appliances in the apartment worked without any problems. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and was more than comfortable for us. The bath tub could use an anti slip mat in it but everything else is as descrbed. The neighborhood is quiet and the location is within easy walking distance to three grocery stores and several really good restaurants. We used the Metro for our trip and walking to and from the station even at night was not a problem. I would recommend staying here and if we return to Washington I will see if this is still available so we could stay here again.
