This stay was challenging for my family. Check-in was easy, the location was excellent, the mountain view was beautiful, and amenities were within easy walking distance. However, when we entered the unit, we were immediately met with a strong grease odor in the kitchen and ants on the countertops. We opened the doors and windows, unpacked, and tried to settle in, but soon found ants crawling on our legs while sitting on the sofa. We purchased ant bait traps from a local store, and while they captured large numbers of ants under the sofa and around the countertops, the ants remained present throughout our stay, suggesting a broader issue. Storage space was also limited. There were only two small upper cabinets available for food storage. The closets were filled with moving boxes/supplies, leaving little usable space since we didn't want to use the countertops. At night, we noticed inconsistent lighting. Some bulbs were bright white, others warm white, and others a deeper (banana) yellow. Often in the very same fixture, which was disorienting. In addition, half of the lights in the master bedroom didn't work. I also noticed several extension cords hanging in the air. One extension cord socket was exposed directly above the sofa, making it accessible to my kids sitting against the wall. I raised these concerns with the host and sent pics, but the response was defensive and condescending. We will not be staying here again, and after our exchange, I'm sure the feeling is mutual.
