Welcome to our cozy gem on Sapphire Lake! We are an all-sports lake and all season getaway in Lake City, Michigan. Whether you are looking for a fishing getaway, snowmobile/skiing adventure, fall color tour or a summer at the lake- this is the place! This cottage offers a paddle board, 2 kayaks, a paddle boat and a dock (Memorial-Labor Day) to park your water toys. This charming lakefront cottage awaits your family, with 2 bedrooms, and a converted bonus bunk room, this cozy cottage sleeps 6!
The space
Relax on the new deck with wonderful lake views. The cottage overlooks peaceful Sapphire Lake. The deck is a great place to watch the songbirds, watch the waterfowl (especially loons), and maybe, if you’re lucky, watch a seaplane landing or two. There is also the option to have a fire next to the lake in the fire pit. Lake Sapphire is a shallow lake, only 8 ft deep in some areas so that makes for amazing fishing opportunities. Note- The pontoon boat at this location is for the owner's use only.
A quick ten minute drive away is downtown Lake City, which has enough restaurants for the entire week. Make a stop at Tasty Treat for dessert and get an ice cream- you won’t be disappointed!
Cadillac is also only 15 minutes away, a great option for shopping and restaurants. Traverse City is just an hour away and Mackinac Bridge is a two hour drive.
Rental Policy:

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


NO air conditioning. There are a couple of ceiling fans throughout (living room, master bedroom) and a couple box fans for guests to use.


ATV's: Yes! You are allowed to bring your ORV. There is plenty of room to park your truck/trailer. There is no riding on the property.


Animals: Deer, squirrels, bear, variety of birds.


Bathrooms: 1


Beach/Swimming: There is a dock for people to jump off and swim from. There is a small sandy beach area for kids to play.


Boats: A paddle boat and 1 paddle board and 2 kayaks are available for guests to use. (Available mid- May to mid October.) The paddles, and life jackets are in the storage box at the dock for your use.


Boat Launch: There is a public boat launch only 5 minutes away. Guests are able to bring their own boats to launch and dock the property.


Cell phone service: Verizon and T-mobile have great service in this area.

Dock: Yes a private dock. Guests are allowed to dock your boat there. It is approximately 20 ft. long. (Dock available from May 1st- ~Labor Day)


Drinking Water: It is well water. We do have a reverse osmosis machine in the kitchen for filtered water. Some guests may choose to bring bottled water for drinking.


Drugs/Smoking/Fireworks: We do not permit illegal drugs of any kind on the property. Due to the location of the properties, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at our location for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if it is legal in that city.


Fire-pit: Fire pit is next to the lake.


Fishing: Some common fish you will see in the nearby lake are . Please be sure to bring your own poles as there are none at this property. Also, in order to fish in Michigan lakes, one is required to hold a fishing license. They are available to purchase online


Grill: Charcoal grill is available

Internet: None at this time.


Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. If you are fussy about the thread count of your sheets, just let me know, and I'll make sure we leave a bed open for your sheets. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillow cases and bath towels.


Parking: 4 cars are able to park in the cement driveway. One truck/trailer combo will fit along with 2 extra cars.


Pets: No pets are allowed at this property.
Privacy: There are neighbors very close-by. They are both within view.


Snowmobiles: Yes! The MISS-KAL TRAILHEAD, which is a 50+ mile trail system, is just a ten-minute drive away from cottage. A person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground.


Towels: Yes, we provide bath towels. It's always good to bring extra though. We encourage you to bring your own beach towels.


Walk to the Water: There are 15 steps to get to the water. Especially in the winter, please be careful as ice builds quickly and poses potential danger.


Washer and dryer: Not at this time


Wood: Please supply your own fire wood!
