Or head outside to savor dinner under the gorgeous colors of a Texas sunset.

Mermaids Lair offers three primary king-size suites, one on each floor of the house and each designed with Smart TVs, closet space, ensuite bathrooms and private patio or balcony access. The kids’ bunkroom, located on the second floor, is fun for kids of all ages with two sets of twin-over-twin bunkbeds and a Smart TV perfect for cartoon-filled mornings. You’ll love the second floor’s living room with its plush sectional and large Smart TV. Additional amenities at this gorgeous vacation home include a charcoal grill, free Wi-Fi and a washer & dryer.

Located in the Royal Sands community, Mermaids Lair offers access to fun amenities that will make your vacation all the more special! Great family weekend

We had a great extended family beach weekend getaway. Two families plus grandparents fit perfectly in the house! We had to rent a golf cart and pool amenities could be improved but overall would recommend the property and neighborhood.

The house was exactly as advertised. The location was great!

The management team as well as the owner were very responsive. There was a small leak in the dishwasher and they had someone out to fix it within the hour. I would stay at the home again!

Always fun when you get the family together

We had an amazing time at Port A.The beach was beautiful! The house was perfect for us plenty of space! I was kinda bummed that we arrived after our check in time and there were people who were still there cleaning the house… kinda frustrating having to wait. The beach was a nice walk not too far. Beds were relaxing and decor was cute! Loved the hot shower!

This is a great property. The home is spacious and beautifully decorated. There were 6 people in our party so there was more than enough room. The kitchen is well stocked, the bathrooms are great and basically 2 living rooms make for a very comfortable stay. The location was perfect for us. I loved the top floor bedroom with balcony. Would rent this again in a heartbeat!

Great location but not clean

The community was nice and the home’s location was great, a very short walk to the beach. The home was very dirty, unfortunately. The management company was very responsive and offered to send someone over right away. The washer also did not work. Again, the company offered to send someone, but we didn’t want to deal with these issues during our short stay and it put a damper on the experience.

Beautiful but missing the details.

It was a gorgeous house but it is a beachfront neighborhood not house. It seemed a bit misleading. I tried to contact the property manager on day one to let them know one of the coffee makers was broken and still haven't heard back from them. I feel like I need to warn you about the beds just incase you don't happen to like firm beds and low quality sheets. Now for the pros, it was minutes away from a dollar general and CVS for those "oops I forgot something moments" and the beach was just a short walk away. It could have been the time of year we went but it almost felt like a private beach. It also took almost no time to get to the local restaurants. There were two balconies which made the distance to the ocean seem like a smaller problem.

Mermaid Lair Exceeded Expectations

The entire trip to Port A was more fun than we expected. This was a family trip with our son and his family, our grandkids had a blast at the beach and the house was close enough for grandma and popop to take a break and enjoy the air conditioning. The home was in excellent condition and well maintained, the location can't be beat and everyone at VHC was friendly and very helpful!

Steps from the beach

The house is fantastic. Nobly steps from the beach as advertised. Never could find our where the private fishing pond or private fishing pier was that was advertised. Overall enjoyed the stay though. One item of maintenance you might want to check, the ceiling fan in the first floor bedroom is making quiet a bit of noise,
