This cute little cottage is just a few minutes' walk from the beach, and is located in the perfect area for exploring the Leelanau Peninsula! My family stayed here for a week with our dog, and really enjoyed the quiet, peaceful beach. There are plenty of dog-friendly restaurants with patios in Suttons Bay and Northport, so we had no problems finding nearby places to grab dinner. The mattresses could use updating and some of the kitchen items were in rough shape, but overall it was a nice place to stay and we had a great time!

Great location! Getting to the beach is an easy walk and sunsets/sunrises are beautiful there. I would definitely book again!

The whole place stunk - literally, when we arrived because the towels smelled so bad! We had to keep them on the screened porch. Luckily, we had some of our own. I prefer a fairly firm mattress. This one was not. My husband and I slept apart, one of us on the sofa, because with two of us it just turned to mush, and we are not at ll overweight. To the good - Both of those things that can be easily fixed! It was well equipped, clean, good location and the beach was lovely. A new mattress and better towels and I’d stay there again.

Thank you for your review. We did have a lengthy conversation when you stopped by our office. We agreed there was no lingering smell on the towel you brought. Since we have never had this issue before, we're not sure what caused it. We spoke with our linen company, and we're very sorry. As we discussed, not all mattresses fit all guests equally. You commented that you enjoyed your stay. We hope you will return - we enjoyed talking with you.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the location, the peace and solace of it. The house was very clean,though it could use some updates: the windows stick and are difficult to close;a strip of wood with nails in it in the kitchen area is not securely attached; there were ants coming out of the bathtub faucet on our last day, and a fan in the bathroom would be so nice. Overall, it's a beautiful spot and everyone involved was very nice and helpful.

Great location

The location was great. We enjoyed the close beach and water and grilling right at our vacation home. We loved downtown Northport for shopping and some meals. And it was so close to everything else for sight seeing, wine tasting, and more.

We had an excellent stay. The beachfront area is super private and provided great a shallow entrance with calm waters for the kid. Little one also loved the rock painting, games, and monkey bars next to the cottage. Easy check-in and check-out, good internet, and well-located relative to Omena and Northport. I do not understand the complaints about lack of A/C - this was clearly stated in the description, and it simply doesn't get that hot in northern MI.

Lakeside Cottage

Perfect little cottage. 6 of us didn’t need anything more. Clean, beautiful location, and quiet. Loved sitting by the water early in the morning. Glad we brought air mattress, fit well in the screened porch area.

Weekend getaway

The cottage looks exactly like the photos. It is small but very cute on the inside. We loved the screened in porch and the short walk to the beach that is on the property. It was very clean upon arrival. It probably could use some updates but we loved that there was a grill for the cottage and chairs to be outside.

We are sorry and surprised to hear of these issues. The owner had WIFI installed at the end of August. As customary, we called the morning after your arrival and left a voice message. We did not hear back. We would have sent a cleaner back and worked with you to solve the WIFI problem. We are always available to assist our guest during regular business hours as well as through the provided emergency number.

Northport getawwy

Spur of the moment decision to vacay UP NORTH. Found this little dream cottage was open on our dates. Very clean and pleasantly decorated cottage with a beautiful screened in front porch. Close to many things we wanted to do and lovely little beach . Not so fond of the internet outage, but good communication with maintenance. Will be renting again if available.
