Our Druthers Lake House - dock, hot tub, game room

This outdoor paradise has just as much to offer inside: four bedrooms, three and half baths, two living areas, game room, hot-tub, children's play loft, stone fireplace, sitting area, large gourmet kitchen, and triple sheeted beds for a dream sleep! The Space:
Often we are asked how a property got its name. Our Druthers was named in honor of the owner's father always prefacing his opinion with Our Druthers. His son explains it this way:

The Our Druthers name was inspired by our late Father, Ron. One of his favorite sayings was "Well, if I had My Druthers I'd...". Us kids always got a kick out of it. I don't hear that saying as much these days, but when I do, it always makes me smile. He would've loved this place, these mountains, this lake, as much as we do and the Our Druthers name felt like a small way to share it with him. So now my wife and I like to say, "If we had Our Druthers, we'd be at the lake". We hope you'll agree. It brings our family joy to share this story and our home with your family, and maybe you'll take a similar saying home with you :) Enjoy!

You will experience a beautiful drive into this lovely lakefront community. The gentle winding roads, hills, lush trees and landscaping create a welcoming environment for your stay. The drive is smooth with paved road access and the entire way and the home has a circular concrete driveway for easy entry and exit.

The warm welcome occurs as soon as you enter into the traditional reading room with a large stone masonry fireplace before entering into the main living area. The main living area is open, with large vaulted ceilings, the reverse side of the large stone fireplace, and connecting to the gourmet kitchen, with high end appliances, including gas stove, and spacious dining area.

The kitchen has ample counter space, upscale cabinets and everything you need for those perfect family meals and gatherings.

Just off the kitchen to the left is a queen master suite with a large screen smart TV, bench seat and full size bathroom featuring a tub/shower combo. The beds feature white triple sheeting, accent colors to create a warm atmosphere for that perfect night's sleep.

There is a large screened porch off the living/dining rooms featuring comfortable outdoor furniture, hammock, lake views, and gas grill. Plenty of space for all guests to enjoy the fresh mountain air!

As you enter directly into the living area, there is a shared half bath to the left, stairs leading to the upstairs kids loft and master bedroom/bath.

The stairs take you to the loft dedicated to a kids play area. It features a craft table, games, puzzles, and other great things to discover.

The master king suite is also upstairs. It includes a large private space, large screen smart TV, seating area and full size bathroom. This bedroom provides privacy and the perfect escape when you just need to get away!

The door to the downstairs area is next to the kitchen. It leads to a large open living area including, sofa, shuffleboard, arcade games, electronic darts, gas fireplace and large screen smart TV. The kids will love this area and it provides hours of entertainment and fun!

There is another screened porch off the downstairs living area including a five person hot tub to relax and soak in the beauty of this property.

There are two additional bedrooms downstairs; a queen and two single bunk beds. There is also an additional bathroom and laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer.

The outside fun begins with a paver stone fire pit just off the downstairs screened porch. Access to the landing deck is provided by a gentle winding downslope concrete pathway. The landing deck has a dining area, and seating with great views of the cove and boat dock. The walk back is a little strenuous due to the incline.

The boat dock is two levels with a sun deck with great views of the lake. Feel free to bring your own boat and launch at the ramp just a few miles away or rent a boat from Nottely Boat Club & Marina seven minutes from the cabin.

Please let us know in advance if you'll require use of the boat slip so we can be sure it's open and ready for you when you arrive.

There are water floats and life jackets provided for the guests use.

Guest Access:
Access is via keyless entry. A check-in code will be provided 1 day prior to arrival. Checkout code will be provided the day before with instructions.

The entire cabin is available to the guest with the exception of the owners closet

The Neighborhood:
The property is located in a beautiful lake community and fully accessible by paved roads. It is located 15 minutes from downtown Blairsville and 20 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge. It has a circular driveway for easy entry and exit. Parking is ample for 4 vehicles.

Getting Around:
The property is central to Blairsville, Blue Ridge and Murphy, NC. providing excellent access to all three unique towns featuring many restaurants, hiking trails, wineries/breweries, casino, lakes, fishing, white water rafting and other great outdoor activities.

Privacy:
Other properties are in the neighborhood. We ask that you please respect the owners privacy and comply with private property signs.

Trash and Litter:
Trash pickup service is provided on Thursday. If the trash cans are full upon arrival, please contact the property management office. All trash must be bagged in 13 gallon or larger bags and placed into the two trash cans provided. Do not put small trash bags/grocery bags into the trash cans. We do not have traditional trash service and all trash is picked up by individuals using pickups and they will not take the smaller bags. Our nature friends love to make a mess when this is not done and the trash companies will not pick up loose trash. Also if you exceed the capacity of the trash cans before pickup it is your responsibility to remove and take to the disposal locations at:

Quiet time:
Please keep your noise to a minimum between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. both inside and outside. This includes hot tubs, fire pits, and porches. Sound travels easily in the mountains and can disturb unseen guests.

All homeowners association rules need to be followed.

Smoking Policy:
This property is a NO SMOKING property of any kind.
