Duncan's Tropical Beach Bungalow is one of a kind in Southwest Florida. Perfect for a honeymoon, anniversary, or, romantic getaway. Complete privacy...Clothing Optional...The ' Bungalow ' has the feel of the islands with solid yellow pine and Mexican tile floors, high endj West Indies style furnishings, Florida shutters, crown molding in every room, gourmet kitchen...even an outdoor shower adjacent to the master bath for a unique shower under the stars.

French doors open onto a literal 'jungle' of palms (over 170) and bananas, two sandy beaches bordering the pool. Wriggle your feet in the sand, take a dip in the oversize solar heated pool, or, take a nap . The vegetation is so dense, you can skinny dip in complete privacy. You would never guess you were surrounded by civilization.

Located in the historic McGregor Blvd. district of Fort Myers, Duncan's Tropical Beach Bungalow is conveniently located to our famous beaches, Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel/Captiva Islands, about 20-25 minutes; Regional SW Int'l airport is 25 minutes away.
We opened our 'paradise retreat' to guests in 2008. 75% of our guests have returned 2 or more times...One couple recently returned for their 9th visit...pretty much says it all!

We realize that our prices are substantially below market for similar properties, (if you could find one) ...we also suspect that once you experience our lifestyle, you will be back!

The place was amazing. Really enjoyed staying there. Duncan was so good to work with and very responsive and ineresting. We would stay there again and again if possible. Out of 5 stars, this one deserved 10 stars!!!

A really enjoyable time! We had the privilege to meet Duncan personally, and thoroughly enjoyed his hospitality. The neighborhood is quiet and relaxing. Shopping and restaurants are all convenient distances away.

We really enjoyed our 2 week stay at the Bungalow. The pool was lovely and private. Everything youd need in yhe kitchen is supplied. Owner is very nice and accommodating. The home is in a safe, clean neighborhood that is close to everything!!! Will definitely stay here again!

Bungalow Paradise

This bungalow is exactly as advertised and the perfect place for a family vacation! Duncan was a pleasure to work with and the property has everything you need for your home away from home. The backyard is truly a tropical oasis with an amazing pool, sandy beaches, and covered seating areas. We will definitely be back!

Paradise Found

This bungalow is a quiet - extremely clean - and an exceptionally private paradise getaway yet close to everything. The pictures don’t do the property justice. It’s adorable, comfortable, and they’ve thought of everything you will need. Oversized pool and comfy furniture and beds. Can’t wait to return!!

Amazing place!!

We had such a great week at “Duncan’s bungalow” it was exactly like on the pictures but backyard in person was like cherry on the cake beautiful very well thought thru. It was great to play in the sand with our little one then you have great pool it’s like you don’t even need to go to the beach :) Thank you Allen again Viktoria and Radovan

Love, love, love everything!

Hands down, this was the best vacation home I have ever stayed in. It has everything as promised in the description: it's a great safe, quiet neighborhood, close to supermarket and restaurants, very nicely decorated, comfy beds and it is clean! Plus it is fairly close to Ft Myers Beach and Sanibel Island. However, the best part is the backyard with the pool. I could have just stayed in for the whole week as it basically is a perfect private beach. This was definitely one of the best vacations I ever had and we will definitely be back for more!

Bungalow Charm

No furry friend? Stay here anyway! Charming and comfortable. New Rio beach chairs were ready and waiting and we couldn’t wait to hit the beach.. Backyard landscaping and pool create a very relaxing environment. If you do have a dog you’ll all be very happy.

For 4 winters our "home away from home"

Duncan's bungalow has been our "home away from home" for the last four winters. The bungalow and its unique back yard and pool make it feel like your own tropical paradise. It offers complete privacy for a very quiet, restful vacation. We have enjoyed bicycling and walking on the neighborhood bike trail. Our stays have been made especially pleasant because Duncan is a wonderful host and has become a dear friend of ours. He is always available to recommend great restaurants and places of interest during your stay. Sanibel and Fort Myers beach are just a short drive away. This season we decided it was time to buy our own Fort Myers home, but we will always love and highly recommend Duncan's Tropical Bungalow!

A nice couple's getaway!

We had a great time spending the week at the bungalow! The backyard is beautiful and very private. The pool is great and lots of places to sit and enjoy the outdoors. Even in the August heat, we spent a lot of time outside. The house is very comfortable. As hurricane Idalia formed in the gulf and moved north, Duncan and his daughter communicated with us, letting us know the hurricane's path and if we needed to be concerned or not. We felt very well taken care of, especially for those days as the hurricane formed and moved past the area (fortunately far to the west). Duncan is a great communicator, proactively reaching out and quickly answering all questions. We highly recommend the bungalow for a couple's getaway!

Better than the pictures

We are currently on our way home from a week at the bungalow. This was a fantastic vacation. The check in process was super easy and the place actually looks better than in the pictures. We had coffee each morning on the back porch under the ceiling fan. Had some great evenings out, thanks to Kathy’s recommendations. Be sure to check out Doc Fords and Shuckers for great water front dining. But the star of the show is the back yard and pool. That’s why you book this place. The two sets of chairs make sure you can get all the sun you want, or the covered patio furniture is a great place to nap outside when you need a reprieve. It is super private and extremely relaxing. The location is super close to anything you might need (we ended up running to Publix a few times) but the house really does have everything you might need.

Not as advertised.

We were very disappointed with the overall condition of the outside living space at this property. Owner needs to update listing with more current photos. Not at all how the photos depicted the pool area including outdoor furnishings that were not there for our stay. The exterior of the property and what furniture remains needs a good cleaning, or replaced. We were surprised that we were expected to use pool with an attached running pool vac including a lengthy hose for the duration of our stay. There was nothing mentioned in the property description nor booking info regarding that. As far as the interior of house everything iwas as described.

A piece of paradise

The property was exactly as advertised and the description matched in every way. The owner was very personable and we had found out that he grew up in our small Ontario town. We found the place to have everything that we could have possibly needed plus more. The home was very clean and in a very quite neighbourhood. The home was close to every amenity needed and thou we stayed in to eat there was a album of places that past guest had visited with feedback on each place. We had a great time and found it to be the best vacation spot we have been to thus far. Private back yard with heated pool, fully enclosed by palms and other shrubs. There was bikes to ride if you wanted to venture out. One floor open concept made it easy to get around in the bungalow. The bed and furnishing were very comfortable and suited the theme of the home. Laundry facilities, dishwasher, BBQ made things seem just like being at home. We were very comfortable and happy to have found this little piece of paradise. Overall we would recommend this place to any one that was interested in spending their vacation in Fort Myers Florida.

Wonderful bungalow!

My husband and I rented Ducan's Tropical Beach Bungalow for the week of 2/13/16 - 2/20/16 and enjoyed our time there immensely. Duncan has created a relaxing tropical paradise around the large pool, giving the whole yard the atmosphere of a beach resort...right down to lounge chairs in the sand. There's also a wonderful and comfortable shaded seating area for those who prefer to stay out of the sun. The backyard is entirely fenced in, which made our stay a great vacation for our two dogs, as well. There is so much tropical greenery surrounding the yard that the fence, itself, doesn't even show. The house is clean, comfortable and tastefully furnished....pictures don't do it justice. And, it's amazingly well-equipped! Duncan is a gracious host. He's very much available at anytime if you need him, but leaves his renters alone to enjoy the house as if it were their own. The neighborhood is quiet (nice for dog walking) while conveniently located close to everything. There's really no need to ever leave this house to feel as if you've truly escaped; however, when you do go out, the area is loaded with many excellent restaurants of all price ranges. Also, a visit to the Thomas Edison Estate and Museum (nearby) is a great way to spend an afternoon. We highly recommend this little slice of Heaven. Our only regret was that we couldn't have stayed longer.

The property has a delightful tropical vibe, including a very welcoming pool and cabana, including sand and palm trees. Molly Lou (our golden retriever) was immediately at ease in the new environment. The location is in a very quiet suburban area, close to great restaurants and other amenities, and about 15-20 minutes to JetBlue, the airport, and the beach. A perfect stay was had by all!!!
