This cabin is a great little place to relax and enjoy nature. Starting with coffee at the outdoor patio and ending with an evening breeze in the hammock, this place is a gem. Only minutes from town, Georgetown offers so much history and shopping experience. Sheron is a great host and we highly recommend it.

The host was very welcoming and helped with any questions that we had. Probably had by far the best muffins known to man thanks to the host.

My fiancé, dog and I stayed here for a wedding in Round Rock. We enjoyed the peace at The Palette Pad. Sheron made us blueberry muffins that were so good!! Our dog loved the open space. We all walked down to the river through the pecan orchard and found fossils! So cool! Sheron was communicative, helpful and so sweet. Highly recommend staying here. Thank you again so much for everything!

It was so much fun giving you and Brandon a tour of the farms! I loved the star fish fossil that Brandon found - only the second one found at the farm! There are tons of oyster, clams, ammonite and shrimp-bed fossils, but the star-fish are rarer. Come back to see us anytime you need a little R ‘n R.

The host brought us a dozen banana nut muffins fresh out of the oven for free! They were so good. The cabin is small, quiet and has tons of windows. I felt like we were camping in the woods. We brought our dogs and they enjoyed walking and meeting the cows. (A first for them.) Would love to go back and spend more time hiking down by the river.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Scurlock Farm, The Palette Pad is perfect for one couple. Very comfortable and peaceful. Sheron delivered delicious, hot, homemade blueberry muffins at 9:00 our first morning there. The location is very convenient to Georgetown, but far enough away to be quiet and very relaxed. An easy walk down to San Gabriel River if you want to fish or explore. Highly recommend.

Syuan, I am so glad you and Dan chose to stay wi9th us at The Palette Pad on Scurlock Farms! I hope you caught some fish!? The land and the river really needed the 3" of rain we received lat week. Would stay again

Beautiful property, excellent hosts, perfect location as a country get-a-way yet convienent to town. Getting to feed the animals was a plus.

Wonderful walks to the river … seeing deer along the way. Conveniently close to Georgetown and Austin.

I am glad you got to stay with us at Scurlock Farms along with your sister from Washing DC, then your husband. Your pet, Millie, was adorable and a perfect guest! Hope you can return again! Pets are welcomed, the cabin was cozy outside sitting area was nice with my morning coffee, delicious homemade muffins from my hostess. By end of the week I got to watch the foliage colors turn on several trees.

Pleasant, relaxing home away from home

Really enjoyed our stay! Beautiful property to walk and hike, loved seeing all the fossils on our hike. The pad is quaint, and filled with the history of the artist it was built for. Great location close to town but far enough to enjoy the country.

Beautiful Secluded Artist's Cabin in the Woods. Floor to Ceiling Windows with a beautiful view

Very clean and comfortable river rock cabin with a rich history. Our dog enjoyed long walks and the river. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The perfect mother/daughter stay

We loved seeing/feeding/petting the animals and exploring the property with the owner Sheron and by ourselves. The pecan orchard, wooded areas, and river front and bluffs were beautiful. The history of the family and property is so unique!

Great getaway

This place was perfect for my work on a writing project. Great muffins at check in, a river to wander along, a wood burning stove for heat, everything was what I needed. The host was attentive and responsive. Highly recommend for a rustic, beautiful getaway.
