Stepping onto the grounds of this villa, you will be immediately greeted by a symphony of vibrant colors and melodious sounds. The property is a haven for birdwatching enthusiasts and nature lovers, boasting an abundance of exotic birds and butterflies, iguanas, and occasionally monkeys and a sloth! Imagine waking up to the gentle frog-like sounds of toucans and the mesmerizing sight of iridescent hummingbirds flitting among the tropical flowers or at the feeders you get to fill as part of your experience here. Feeding the birds bananas and papaya at dawn and waiting for them to land on the feeder is a magical way to start your day.

Villa Alma Libre is located is a small gated community on the north side of Atenas. It offers privacy, security and great views. The drive to the heart of the town takes less than 10 minutes or a 30 minute walk. The walk into town is easy and safe.

The property owners spend around 6 months of the year here, but love to share this serene property with guests while they aren’t here.

This Bali style house has an unique lay-out. The true allure of this property lies in its harmonious fusion of indoor and outdoor living. The living room has large floor to ceiling windows all around, making it a part of the nature around. The open kitchen has everything you need. The pool underwent an extensive renovation in November, 2024 and is gorgeous and inviting for chilling out in and for refreshing dips!
The 2 bedrooms are located in the courtyard garden. The master bedroom had a kingsize bed and an ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and an ensuite bathroom.
The property features several private terraces where you can unwind in the natural surroundings, listening to the gentle rustle of leaves and the hum and buzz of the Costa Rican rainforest.
The well sized guesthouse has an open living, kitchen and sleeping area. It has a full bathroom . The main attraction is the deck that offers superb views. The way the guesthouse is positioned gives it a lot of privacy, making it ideal for guests who travel together, but also like some privacy.

Our experienced property management team is ready to make your stay the best it can be. After booking they will send you an email with all the information you need to prepare for your stay. During your stay they are always just a phone call away.
As an additional service to our house guests, they offer airport transfers, reliable car rentals and a variety of quality tours. They can arrange for you to have your fridge stocked with your favorite groceries upon arrival, or have a home cooked meal ready for you on your arrival day. For special occasions they can have a local chef come to the house to prepare a gourmet dinner. What to think of a relaxing massage at the property, it can all be arranged.

In the house you will find a guest manual that gives you all the information that you need on the property, the town of Atenas (restaurants, shops, medical assistance) and the extra services offered to our guests.

The standard rate is based on 4 people staying at the main house. If you want more privacy and use the casita, there will be a $20 per day fee.
For every extra guest above 4, there is a $20 per person per night extra guest fee. The use of the casita is included in this fee.
For guests staying longer than 14 days, a bi-weekly cleaning is included.

Check in: Between 4 PM and 9 PM.
Check-out: Before 10 AM
