We absolutely loved Porto and the property was exceptional. The location was spectacular and communication was amazing. We found the apartment a little hot ( we like it a little cooler for sleeping.) Opening the windows was not an option as the mosquitos would come in. All in all we would stay here again and recommend this to others.

Property is in an excellent location and we really enjoyed it.However the bed is very uncomfortable and the bed linen is very poor.No proper pillows, just what seemed to be cushions in covers.If these things were improved it would be excellent. If travellers need transport use Porto Taxis as they are allowed to pick up and drop off outside the apartment, very useful to know if you have suitcases.Iber/Bolt are not allowed do that.

After many years of hosting guests, we still find it a little difficult to understand when guests experience something they are not completely happy with but don’t let us know during their stay, despite our encouragement to contact us whenever anything is not as expected. Had we known about the pillows, for example, we would have been very happy to provide different ones and try to make your stay more comfortable. Regarding the bed linen, we use IKEA-quality linen. While we understand that preferences can vary, we do not consider the quality to be poor, and we are sorry that it did not meet your expectations. We always appreciate feedback and will certainly take your comments into consideration. We wish you all the best and hope you have many enjoyable stays in the future.

This charming apartment was ideally situated with nearly every activity/restaurant/shopping excursion within walking distance. (There are lots of hilly streets, but that is just Porto! Nothing someone with modest physical condition can't handle!) For those excursions that required a rideshare, there are close-by pick up points within a 2 minute walk to the apartment, which the hosts kindly shared before we arrive. We loved the pedestrian-only vibe right outside the window, including the street musicians who played lovely acoustic instruments or sang, but also appreciated that things quieted down every evening at 10pm. Need to get to sleep earlier? no problem - the windows are incredibly sound-proofing! Cristina and Joao were wonderful communicators, always responding to our questions in an incredibly timely manner. Their checkin-checkout instructions were very clear. I highly recommend the location and the hosts!

It was a wonderful location. This is a great street to stay on. There’s so much activity. Even so, we were wondering if it would be loud at night. But the windows are so thick that they blocked out all of the noise and we got a great night sleep each night. The hosts were wonderful.

Excellent location for walking historic Porto. The street can get noisy, but windows block out sound and there is a fan if hot at night. Owner very responsive to any questions or issues. Highly recommend!

A Wonderfully Cozy Place!

The apartment is in an ideal location; you can’t ask for anything better. It was well equipped and the owner was great in receiving us and in explaining all of the details and nuances of the place. He was also great in providing local recommendations. We had a great time and highly recommend staying here.

Fabulous Historical Property in Centre of Town

Very comfortable and didn't disappoint. Christina & Joao were very accommodating and all our expectations were met or surpassed. Nearby parking cost was a real shock...but everything else was terrific.

Ideal Location

Christina was the perfect host, she was there to welcome us and provided lots of tips on what to see in Porto. The apartment was ideally located. The apatment is well appointed and comfortable. Being in the centre of the action the neighbourhood is vibrant and alive during the day and evening but things always quieted down later in the evening.

Comfortable suite on pedestrian street in the heart of the city

The suite is within a short walk of Sao Bento station and quite close to the river as well. Supermarket and restaurants are nearby. Our host met as arranged and explained the features of the suite and possible sites to visit in Porto. The pedestrian only street is a popular tourist area with many cafes and restaurants. Note that there are many restoration and renovation projects underway in the area which start at 8 am run to 6 pm so it can be noisy and congested at times during the day.

Brilliant!

Everything about the stay from start to finish was perfect. Excellent attentive hosts who were kind enough to warn us of a major city wide party that coincided with our stay. They were worried we would not like the noise but it was a brilliant experience and as there is triple glazing when we did finally get to bed after a brilliant night we were not disturbed. Superb location, everything is close by with the added bonus of their local tips on things to do and restaurants

Perfect Porto stay

This is central to everything in Porto and everything you need is easily within walking distance. Interesting street performers, and sitting in the window watching the party walk by is amazing. Everything you need is there. The place is spotless, updated , comfortable. Restaurants abound within 5 minutes so having a kitchen is no fun! We were met by Paula who gave us an enthusiastic welcome to Porto and is hostess extraordinary. We left then realized I had left my phone was inside and Paula rushed early in the morning back to the VRBO to give us access and ensure we made our flight. This place is SO adorable and 5 minutes from Sao Bento. Great find!

Great little apartment in excellent location

My partner and I stayed at this place for five nights. The flat is very cute and in a very convenient and lovely location. We could walk everywhere from the flat, and wonderful to open the windows and hear the sounds of buskers and crowds outside. The apartment is thoughtfully set out and felt very comfortable. Amenities were basic but certainly enough to meet our needs. It did get a bit hot overnight, even with the use of a fan, but that’s to be expected when visiting in the middle of summer. The communication with the owners was straightforward leading up to our arrival. Unfortunately check in felt a bit stressful, as it was an in-person check in. While that has the potential to feel like a nice touch, we also felt very much under pressure to arrive exactly on time, down to the minute, which felt nearly impossible when navigating public transport networks in an unfamiliar city. We felt check-in could be just as easily done with well-written instructions and a lock box for the key, to allow visitors flexibility in their arrival time.

Thank you for your review. We are glad you have enjoyed your stay in our apartment. We are sorry that you felt kind of pressured to arrive on time. It was not our intention to put pressure. We just wanted you to keep us updated. In July and August, we are used to not having news from guests and, as a reaction, we make more questions than usual about guests' arrival times when they come by train (the Portuguese railways delay lt os time) and also when they come by car since it is not easy to come to the historical area by car and parking is also not easy. We have other appointments and we don't want our guests to wait for us, so we need to know when they will arrive so no one has to wait. We are planning to have a lock box for the guests that don't value a personalized check-in. Lucy responded always and updated us. Best Wishes.

Das Appartement liegt mitten in der Altstadt und somit super zentral. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten können zu Fuß erreicht werden. Die Wohnung ist sauber und mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt. Gastgeber sind sehr nett, geben gute Tips und reagieren auf Nachfragen schnell. Und zu Porto? Muss man gesehen und erlebt haben. An jeder Ecke Musiker. Essen, trinken alles sehr günstig. Wunderbare Parks, alte Häuser und Kirchen. Porto ist definitiv eine Reise wert.

L’appartement est charmant, fonctionnel et confortable. C’était un petit nid douillet au retour des visites de Porto. De plus, il est très bien situé près des sites de visites et de très bons restaurants.Les deux propriétaires sont très disponibles et répondaient toujours à nos questionnements dans un bref intervalle.
