Two apartments, one on the second and another on the third floor in a property classified as a national monument, integrated in the UNESCO world heritage.
The apartment is 45 m2 and consists of a bedroom with a balcony over the Douro River, with a double bed. Separated by the stairwell, it also has a kitchen, a dining room with two windows facing Rua da Fonte Taurina, one of the oldest streets in the city of Porto. The kitchen is equipped with a stove with an electric oven, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, etc. Bathroom and shower.
The apartment was renovated in 2015.
The apartment is registered with Turismo de Portugal under number 7057 / AL.

The host was great and met us at the train station upon arrival. The location was fantastic. The accomodation was very simple but that was fine as all we did was sleep there.

Welcoming hospitality with historic charm

This was perfect place for us to stay while visiting Porto. The views from balcony were amazing. Imagining life centuries ago on this bustling waterfront was fun.

Perfect property and location

I had the best time in Porto . The owner met us from the metro after providing detailed instructions which were extremely useful in exciting airport quickly. The accommodation was perfect in terms of location. It had all the amenities required and wonderful view of the river from the bedroom and balcony.

Greatest spot in Porto!

Luis was a first class host. He made our arrival so easy with good directions and meeting us at the metro station.He did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. We met his family, all very charming.The apartment is GREAT! The location couldn't be better. The balcony is non stop entertainement, watching all that goes on in the Ribeira. The bed is comfy, the kitchen is more than adequately equipped, All very clean. Nice towels and sheets.The views from the balconies both in front and behind are fun! And the windows shut out the noise of merrymakers so we slept like logs.And the neighbors were so sweet too.We loved our 4 days there and hope to go back again next year.

Beautiful location but be aware of a couple of issues

Firstly, Luis was exceptional. Communicated quickly, met us at the train station, guided us to his location. helped us with our luggage and showed us around. All wonderful. Area is perfect. Right on the water, million dollar view. Now, just to be aware, the apartment is split by a common stairwell so if you need the washroom, you have to go from the bedroom, through the short hall in the open stairwell to the side with the kitchen and bathroom. The bedroom is quite tiny. Also, the Stairwell is very tight for luggage and the two apartments are on the third and fourth floors of the building. Quite the hike with luggage. We stayed on the third floor and the bed and pillows really need to be upgraded. We had sore backs every morning. We are just pointing out a few things to readers. but also to Luis. He was wonderful with us and the location and view were just fabulous. A very vibrant area that is not to be missed. Thank you, Luis!

Thank you for your comments. In fact we just bought a new mattress in January and we had two extra pillows in the cupboard, probably you have not noticed. I am glad you enjoyed your stay in Porto!

Picture of the view is true

What we found to be true is this apartment does have an amazing view and it is centrally located. The owner Luis is extremely helpful in getting you to the apartment and providing information about the surrounding sites. We had an issue with a slow sink and he responded immediately. The apartment is clean and the kitchen has a washing machine for your use. Unfortunately the site does not disclose the layout of this apartment. If it had we would not have chosen to rent it. It is a historic building and that is not the problem. What we take issue with is not disclosing that this apartment is broken up into to 2 units connected by a central stairwell that other tenants access to get to the apartment above. There were 3 sets of different tenants in the upstairs apartment during our stay of 8 days. The bedroom is wide enough, but a man cannot walk by the end of the bed without turning sideways and shuffling by. There is a shower in this room, but the toilet is across the hall off the kitchen and eating area. We also found that even with the window closed (not possible if it is a warm night) the noise level is excessive into the early am. With the exception of a couple of nights when it rained we were woke up every night at 2 to 3 am with loud talking, laughing directly under our window. The waterfront is an area where the young like to hangout. If you are a very sound sleeper or like to party yourself into the wee hours and routinely rent a room without attached bathroom then this place really is worth the money.

A. has been a very nice guest during her 8 day stay in our flat in Porto, in an historical building classified as national monument and in UNESCO world heritage site. As all the buildings in the area, it is divided into two parts by the staircase, as it is clearly presented in the description included in Homeway. Unlike in other buildings (like the guest house in the next building) we decided to keep the hole flat as it was originally, with kitchen and dining room, instead of diving the flat into two tiny apartments, one of which without river view. Most of our guests value the balcony with the magnificent river view, as well as having a fully equipped flat, with kitchen including an oven, a washing machine, etc.

Apartamento bem localizado com vizinhança agradável, Sr. Luís sempre prestável, atencioso e muito simpático. As senhoras da limpeza também simpáticas e prestáveis. Nous avons passé un séjour régalant dans un appartement au début déconcertant dans son organisation, mais typique en fin de compte de Porto. Alors!...Il est conforme à la description donnée dans l'annonce quant au confort. Il offre toutes les possibilités de circuler à pied ou en transports en commun très proches. Le plus agréable est la magnifique vue sur le Douro et l'adaptation se fait sans difficultés; le petit balcon permet de pouvoir s'y tenir pour un repas; le bord du Douro est piéton ce qui assure un calme fort appréciable. L'accueil qui nous a été réservé reflète la chaleur et la gentillesse des portugais; ça a été une très bonne introduction. Nous sommes contents d'avoir pu profiter de cette possibilité de quelques jours à Porto dans ces conditions. Nous le recommandons vivement et chaleureusement. Françoise Hubé

Wonderful Views

We stayed here for 4 nights in September. It is right in the heart of Porto overlooking the river and magnificent bridge. From the bedroom there is a small balcony were you can sit and take in the wonderful views. Everything is on hand nearby, many restaurants, shops, access to river cruises etc. so it really is in a prime spot. The owner Luis was so helpful. He made the booking very easy with lots of detail via email concerning the journey from the airport. On arrival he met us from the Metro station, guided us to the apartment and gave lots of useful local information. Would definitely recommend as a perfect base from which to explore the city.

Perfect location for your holidays

We had a very nice stay in this apartment. The location is perfect (city centre, bus stop is nearby), the view though the window - breathtaking. The apartment is well equipped, cozy. The surrounding area gets very busy and entertaining during day time but it is surprisingly calm at night. Luis was very helpful and provided us with all necessary information about our trip (how to get from the airport, metro schedules, ticket prices and etc.) also met us at the metro, took us to the apartment and provided us with some historical facts about the city. It's definitely worth renting this place if you want to feel a real spirit of Porto. Thank you! Rimante

Un séjour comme nous l'avions imaginé!

Nous sommes un couple d'étudiants de 21 ans ; c'est notre premier voyage à l'étranger, et celui-ci fut parfait ! Luis se rend très disponible aussi bien avant notre arrivée par mail, à notre arrivée à la station de métro, et ensuite chaque fois que nous en avions besoin. L'appartement est comme sur les photos. Tout l'étage vous appartient en fait, et un couloir sépare la chambre/douche (un miroir dans cette pièce pourrait éventuellement être rajouté) de la cuisine/salle à manger. Et surtout, l'appartement est très bien situé : on ne peut guère trouver mieux comme emplacement dans Porto, car en effet, c'est le quartier par excellence, le quartier le plus animé avec des petits marchés, animations et musiques presque chaque jour! Sans oublier la vue de la chambre qui est splendide, le même panorama que celui sur les cartes postales! La plage de Porto est accessible facilement en bus, en une demi heure. Tout est à proximité dans Porto, aussi bien les petites épiceries (il n'y a pas de grands commerces proches), les sites culturels, les stations de métros, les points de vues, et les rues avec plusieurs bars et quelques boites de nuits. Par contre, ça monte beaucoup ! Nous conseillons donc fortement cet appartement, et ce propriétaire très agréable.

Premier location and hosts for visiting Porto

We just finished a week long stay at this fantastic apartment in Porto. Overlooking the riverfront that is bustling with activity, this apartment was within walking distance to everything we wanted to see - the city center, both sides of the Duoro, the Ribeira. We spent a lot of time sitting on the balcony, enjoying some snacks and wine. The row of buildings where the apt is located is one of the most iconic on the riverfront and heavily photographed. Luis and his wife are incredibly accommodating, from the emails prior to arrival to the welcome tour to addressing any and all needs during your stay. For instance, there was a small repair being made to the apartment and the shower was out of commission for a few hours. Gabriela offered to pick us up to use the shower in their home if we needed. Also, I became very ill on my third day and Luis went out of his way to set up a doctor's appointment all while traveling out of the country. I can not recommend this apartment highly enough.

Um Cantinho Mágico na Ribeira do Douro

Passei alguns dias neste pequeno e aconchegante apto, cuja porta de frente se abre para o Douro, fazendo calar a alma pela beleza da paisagem e deixando entrar no corpo as folias 'das gentes' que curtem os últimos dias de verão. Uma pequena casa, cuja porta dos fundos traz aromas e canções que provocam o estômago e acalentam o coração. É pequenino, equipado, limpo e cheiroso. Por compor o patrimônio edificado requer a subida de alguns lances de escada. Mesmo assim, não há quem não se apaixone! Não há quem não queira voltar! Sehr empfehlenswert

Sauber, schöne Räume, grossartige Aussicht auf den Douro Fluss, die Luis Brücke und die Port Weinereien am anderen Flussufer. Wc/Dusche sauber, sehr klein. Küche gut ausgestattet, mit kleinem französischem Balkon auf eine lebhafte Gasse. Stadthaus, man kann z.T. die anderen Bewohner hören (Musik, singen, portugiesisch, TV etc.) was eine schöne Atmosphäre gibt. Porto selbst ist natürlich auch sehr besuchenswert. Wir würden, falls nochmals Porto, gerne wieder dort wohnen!

Appartement charmant au bord du Douro

Appartement bien équipé et vraiment très bien situé dans le vieux Porto avec une vue imprenable sur le Douro. Le propriétaire, qui parle français, est très sympathique. Il est venu nous chercher à l'arrêt de la navette de l'aéroport et nous a conduit jusqu'à l'appartement nous indiquant sur le chemin tous les centres d'intérêts de la ville. A recommander.

You walk out the door, and you’re in the middle of the pure beauty & joy of Porto. The view from the balcony is amazing. Bed was very comfy. When we return to Porto, we’d want to stay here. Luis is a grand host, and the communication was excellent

Erste Reihe am Duoro. Klasse.

Die Lage direkt am Duoro ist wunderschön. Wir konnten abends auf dem kleinen Balkon sitzen und die nächtliche Atmosphäre genießen. Bei der Anreise wurden wir an der Metrostation Trinidade abgeholt und zur Wohnung begleitet. Besonders hilfreich waren auch die Informationen, die wir schon vor der Reise erhalten haben. Wir haben den Aufenthalt und die gute Betreuung sehr genoßen und können diese Wohnung für alle, die eine traditionelle Wohnung in einem historischen Gebäude kennenlernen möchten, weiterempfehlen.

Great location in Porto

Beautiful views of the Don Luis bridge and the river. Centralized location, easy walk to most everything. Very clean apartment; gracious host. Did not get a 5 because of noise level at night and inconvenient layout of the apartment...WC across the hall for those of us who need it at night. Also mattress and pillow quality could be improved.

Une vue exceptionnelle sur le Douro!

Nous avons passé un week-end de septembre à Porto et choisi le logement de Luis pour sa situation exceptionnelle. Nous n'avons pas regretté car nous étions au coeur de la ville, à proximité de tous les centres d'intérêt. Bien entendu, la soirée du samedi était assez bruyante mais c'était prévisible, vu la situation. Nous avons adoré la vue sur les quais du Douro. Les conseils du propriétaire nous étaient très utiles pour optimiser notre court séjour. L'appartement est en bon état, cependant le coin toilette mériterait un petit rafraîchissement.
