The location was great, a quiet street, sounds of the bay, and I appreciated the creek behind the property. The unit was better than I had anticipated - I was wishing I had slept in the upstairs loft and not the kiddo! Great place for a quiet stay during the off-season (November). Not sure what the atmosphere is like during the Summer. Hope to return again, someday.

Had a great weekend stay at Cabana on Birch Bay. Kids and grandkids came to enjoy the season. Trick or Treat event at the rec center was a hit. Everyone carved a pumpkin to ward off the goblins. The weather cleared up for a nice walk by the bay. Thanks to Michelle and her staff for the wonderful time.

Do not book with "Heron View" ...... this unit needs massive amounts of maintenance and a thorough deep cleaning. We arrived to sticky, worn out floors, dirty dishes that were put away in the cabinet, and a half-cleaned bathroom. Nothing like trying to scrub a rental bathroom and wash all the plates the first morning of vacation! Sheets on the beds are pretty cheap and thin (Motel 8 quality) and no pillowcases for all the extra pillows. I brought this to them immediately and "Maria" responded that it's been booked so they couldn't do any maintenance, and "there was a late checkout, so it didn't get cleaned well". Excuse me?!? Renters deserve clean rental units!!! They have the ability and responsibility to maintain a property for which they want people to book. The limited maintenance on this unit isn't a one-time issue - this is choices built up over time to not properly clean or fix broken/old items. My favorite is the labels all over the kitchen cabinets with "8 plates" and "8 cups" .... like someone is going to steal the Corel dishes, but there's only 5 spoons. lolWe found out 24 hours before arrival that the pool wasn't working (never usable during our 7-day stay), 2 laundry machines in the clubhouse were out of order due to a water leak for 3 days, and water was completely off for 2 hours one day. Then the hot tub. Two maintenance guys were nice and trying to work their butts off, but it's not ok.

There is no excuse for arriving to a home that was not thoroughly cleaned, and we understand how disappointing and frustrating that must have been. We sincerely apologize that the unit was not ready to our usual standards upon your arrival. We also recognize how the unexpected closure of the pool, issues with the laundry facilities, temporary water outage, and hot tub maintenance affected your vacation. While some of these situations were beyond our control, we understand that they still impacted your stay, and we're sorry for the inconvenience. Your comments have been taken seriously and are being used to address both the condition of the unit and our cleaning procedures. We appreciate your honest feedback, as it helps us improve, and we hope we'll have the opportunity to provide you with the experience you should have received.

Great weekend stay

Stayed for long weekend. Location was great. Bedrooms were clean but carpets and cupboards were very dated. Not very well equipped for a vrbo. Had to buy conditioner, condiments and spices to cook which have been available at most other rentals. BBQ was very dirty and crumbs under table when arrived. Loved the spot and balconies on both front and back with view of ocean and creek. Quiet spot and would recommend with a few minor upgrades. Short walk to beach was great.
