Downtown Loft Sobre Momentum Surf Shop

Welcome to Momentum Loft!

Our second floor condo overlooks the hustle & bustle of a busy and vibrant downtown Wilmington. Located in the busy intersection of Front and Market Street, the condo is footsteps away from shopping, dining, entertainment and attractions. Our location is a convenient stroll down the Riverwalk to Live Oak Bank Pavilion, Wilmington Convention Center and downtown wedding venues. Our block boasts storefront shopping full of retail, restaurants, deserts, and even an Irish Pub next door.

Our guests can expect the usual city noise. There are no clubs on this section of the block that play loud bass through the night. The Irish Pub next door does have 2 outdoors speakers that play music at a tolerable level until 2am. The living room is in the front of the condo to enjoy a bird’s eye view of what’s happening on the streets below. The bedroom is in the back of the unit eliminating a significant amount of the street noise.

Once you get downtown you don’t need your car anymore because you can walk everywhere. Our guests usually park in the City of Wilmington’s Market Street Parking Deck (behind the buildings across the street). The parking deck is pay by the hour or 14.00 all day if you don’t leave the deck. We offer premium parking in our private space on the ground level with unlimited exit/entry for 15.00 a day. It’s not included in the price of the stay because half of our guests travel to Wilmington by air and don’t need parking. If you are interested in premium parking, just let us know after you book. We will also ask when we send the check-in information on the morning of your stay.

Amazing hosts!!! Great communication, flexibility and knowledge of the area. Hunter gave us some great food and drink suggestions (don’t forget to stop by the distillery below the loft). Easy check-in, super safe area, steps from anything you could need, and all the basics amenities you need are in the apartment. Good sized place and didn’t feel cramped. Plenty of room to recharge after walking all over downtown Wilmington. Thanks again and hope to be back soon!!!

Hunter was great, check in and out was smooth. The location was perfect, right in the middle of everything which is where I wanted to be. If I had a complaint it would be noise that comes through from business in basement (the price ya pay for staying downtown. I would absolutely book this location again.

We really enjoyed our weekend in Wilmington. The apartment was in a great location, everything was clean and the host is a wonderful guy who answered all our questions. Try out the local business underneath the apartment: momentum distillery. Very cool!

This place, as well as the hosts, were amazing. It's such a great location and the place itself was cute and very comfortable. Everything was very clean and in good working condition. If you're going to be coming and going I would highly recommend paying for their parking pass. I'll definitely be booking here again for my future trips to Wilmington.

Girls Weekend Trip!

Great place!! I’ll start by saying the location of this place is unmatched!! If you want to be in the best part of the historic downtown near all of the best shops, restaurants, bars, AND one block from the Riverwalk AND affordable… this is your best bet. We couldn’t believe how great the location was. We pretty much never had to move our car.It’s not a super fancy setup or modern; but it’s charming. If you aren’t planning on spending a lot of time at the place you’re staying this is a great option. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Pros: it’s clean, has a cozy charm with the brick wall and big windows, a comfortable bed, has a mini fridge & microwave, TV, you can see all of the action happening down below on the Main Street from the big windows (people didn’t ever look up so I still felt like there was good privacy), the check-in and out process was super simple and easy, the air conditioning worked great and there’s a ceiling fan, and we could walk literally anywhere we wanted to go. Also, very responsive and kind host!Cons: Just the noise at night. If you are a light sleeper, this place is literally where all of the downtown bars and restaurants are, so if that’s not your scene then I’d find another option. It was perfect for us because we wanted to be near the nightlife, but it was very noisy at night so the point where it woke me up a few times. I just used white noise and ear plugs and then I was fine.Overall a great place for a short weekend!

If you want to experience downtown Wilmington, this place is perfection. Prime location. Super easy check-in. Owner was attentive. The place is immaculately clean. We loved our stay here. Absolutely no complaints. The ultimate compliment....we hope to stay here again.

The property is at the heart of downtown one block from the riverwalk. Very convenient to walk to everywhere. The host offers a parking which is fantastic given the challenge in parking downtown. One watch out is that if you are not a night person, you may want to reconsider as it’s near the bar and the night goes on until late! The host gave me very clear check in and out information and helpful.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My husband was unable to come with me to a wedding this past weekend, so I asked my mom to come. We had the best girls weekend at Misti and Hunter‘s loft! The ambience is very cool, from the exposed brick and the surfboards on the wall, to the location, smack dab in the middle of the downtown action. Their loft has a very rustic, beachy vibe with a lot of character. The Irish bar downstairs is a little loud, but it didn’t bother us much. One suggestion I could make is maybe bring a sound machine, but we played a box fan on our phone and it was fine. It would be so convenient for a young couple visiting the bar downstairs and then just walking right upstairs afterwards. Hunter and Misty made it so easy to check in and check out. Definitely pay for the premium parking spot. It is directly across the street! It is way easier than trying to find a parking spot. My husband and I are already thinking about when we’re going to come back. Thanks again!

The location is prime location in the central of the river walk area. It’s next to lots of venues to socialize and dine , and is the perfect size for one person. It’s very clean , and nice bed as well as full size couch.

In the heart of downtown

We loved pretty much everything about this place! The location is exactly where we wanted to be, with the ability to step out the door into the downtown nightlife. The place is clean, comfortable, and well-apppointed. Our only (very) minor quibble is there was no way to get/make ice inside the unit. There is some noise from the street below, but it really wasn’t enough to bother us, even on a busy holiday weekend. We will definitely be staying here again!

In May of 2008, my wife and I opened Momentum Surf and Skate in downtown Wilmington at 5 North Front Street. I was running a fine dining restaurant at 114 Market Street called Deluxe and the Front Street building I had my eye on came up for rent! We wasted no time and leased the space without any plan or funding, just a dream! Our new business flourished and we decided in 2011 to renovate our upstairs surfboard gallery back into an apartment for our visiting friends. Our friendship base grew quickly when everyone realized how cool our little downtown condo was so we had to get organized with a calendar and a way for people to help us pay the bills. Now VRBO handles all of that for us!
