One of the most unique properties on Bainbridge Island. This rustic log cabin is the perfect writerā€™s retreat or family adventure! It was originally built in the 1930ā€™s and barged to its current location in October 1962 in the middle of Seattleā€™s only hurricane! Located on the west side of Bainbridge Island just feet from the beach, it has an incredible stone fireplace, fully appointed kitchen, and new washer/dryer. The Cabin sleeps 8 with a primary bedroom and ensuite, an alcove bedroom with a queen bed and a separate loft that sleeps 4 with two twins and a double bed. It also has a second bathroom. Its expansive wraparound deck lets you enjoy fantastic views of the Olympics and Port Orchard Bay. Watch eagles and Osprey soar above, deer nibbling in the gardens or see the occasional seals, sea lions or otters frolicking in the water.
Ready to take a walk on the beach? You can head right towards Battle Point or left towards Fletcher Bay. If the tide is out head down to ā€œThe Big Rockā€ and see amazing sea life living on it. Weather permitting, paddleboards, kayaks, canoes, or your favorite floating devices can be launched from the private ramp. Bundle up and break out the smores to gather around the private outdoor beachside firepit. Sadly, clam digging is no longer allowed due to biotoxins affecting butter and varnish clams.
Ready to explore Bainbridge Island? This truly special place is centrally located on the Island. Battle Point Park is a mile away (pickleball courts, soccer fields, playgrounds, and a running trail), The Grand Forest with its magnificent hiking trails a mile and a half. Bloedel Reserve is spectacular and a short 17-minute drive. Head Downtown, a quick 15-minute drive, to peruse the wonderful shops and an array of great restaurants on Winslow Way. There are 5 terrific wineries on the Island less than 6 miles away. and distilleries and breweries less than 5 miles. Weā€™re just a 35-minute ferry ride from Seattle or 30-minute ride from Edmonds. If you choose, you can drive around, from SeaTac itā€™s about 80 miles, about an hour and a half. Come take advantage of Island living at its best!

What a cozy winter stay for us! We loved building fires, playing on the shore, and games inside! The hikes close by were great too!

A Peaceful Beauty

We enjoyed this VRBO so much that we extended our stay.The cabin is spacious and cozy. The location is ideal. A few steps from the water's edge with wonderful expansive views of sail boats and the opposite coast. Very quiet and private. Our host was very nice and easy to communicate with. We look forward to our return!

Bainbridge Waterfront Cabin

Amazing property and host. John was great and very responsive. Super cool waterfront cabin with beach access, a shoreline water pit and ramp for kayaks, etc. Great access to the village too. We will definitely be back and recommend this to our friends. Super memories.

Beautiful and relaxing

The wife, dogs, and I stayed here to unplug during a rainy Memorial Day. This property is special! Felt like we were transported back to the 1800s (but with some key comforts like baseboard heaters). We enjoyed zoning out to the crackling fire and looking at the tides go by.

Lovely time

Our stay at The Cabin was just great! The weather allowed the three kids in our party to play outside for hours and hoursā€”they loved the lawn when the tide was high and the beach when the tide was low. Everyone was charmed by the log cabin interior and the stairs to the third bedroom were fun for us. The kitchen and bathrooms were nice and we appreciated the seating options since there were seven of us. Iā€™m not sure when weā€™ll have the opportunity to go back but would consider The Cabin again!
