Located on private family owned waterfront compound. Steps away from Restaurants , Bars, Fishing, touring and rental boats. Walking distance to National Park, State Park and County park . Beaches , Bike trails , Hiking and Jogging , New York bus service and ferry service near also walking distance. Fish off your front porch or from our floating docks. Moor you boat on site . Take a short walk up to Twin Lights lighthouse and museum. Walk across the bridge to Sandy Hook explore 7 miles of beach. Enjoy the many unique restaurants and shops in the town all of which are with in walking distance.

Great location. Convenient to restaurants/ beaches/ lighthouses/ ferry. Loved hearing the lapping of water while we slept. Lovely dock w chairs to enjoy sunrise and sunset. The house was cozy and perfect f 2 people. Enjoyed watching the boats go by. We enjoyed our stay and would go back again! Our host was responsive, and professional.

Had it's pros and cons.I loved the view, bed and the couch were very comfortable to sleep,kitchen was nice with everything you needed, we cooked crabs on the stove. but I went there with my mom so we can go crabbing and the house was too small. No door to the bedroom, the living room is on the other side of the wall and its wide open so we can hear each other in the middle of the night. Couch is very squeaky, she can hear me get up to pee and if I open up the couch into a bed,it hits the dining room table so she can't walk around to go to the bathroom .Just very tight,its more for couples who wants to be that close to each other lol

Nice

Cute cottage, in a perfect and easy access to restaurants and roads. The only thing we did not expect is that the cottage is not insulated so we had the heater on all the time.

Very disappointed. On line photos not accurate. No way can two people sleep in the bed without climbing in. Mat in bathroom coming apart on bottom. Not even a bar of soap in the bathroom to take a shower. No bathtub mat for safety. Heat not working properly. One night freezing next night temp set to 70 stayed at 83 had to open a window. Two coffee pots and not a package of coffee package of coffee or pods to even make a cup of coffee night of arrival . The amount charged was not the value received. A very disappointing experience.

Very small

It was very cold but we were able to adjust the heat to be comfortable, the couch needs a update sinks in and squeaks a lot when you sit on it but besides that we had a nice stay

A great location near the Jersey Shore with tons of restaurants nearby that you can even walk too. Right on the water, fish from your private dock.

Great location!

Our stay was very enjoyable. Neighbors were friendly. We were close to the great restaurants, stores and the ferry which we took to New York. Will definitely be visiting again.

Cottage on the Bay

Perfect little 1 bedroom cottage right on the water. Excellent seafood, ice cream, and drinks all a short stroll away. Ample parking. Fishing & kayaking all right there. Easy access to Sandy Hook Beach Park & Sea Bright beaches.

Beautiful view

The cottage in the Highlands is beautiful. It was just right for my Husband and I. The views are beautiful and watching the boats was fun. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. The place was very clean and well appointed. The host included a pass to Sandy Hook, which was great. The check in and out was seamless. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The Cottage

Charming cottage right on the water. Our host made sure we had everything we needed and checked in with us to be sure we did. We had a wonderful vacation and plan on going back again. Highly recommend this cottage!!

Cozy little cottage

Very cute little cottage at the foot of Sandy Hook Bridge. Easy walk over bridge to beaches, close to restaurants. Host was great and super responsive. Thanks Gary!

Size of property vs what we paid per day

Location is what you pay for. Place needs alot of work. Very small. Its fine for a visit for 1 person. Not very clean, floors slant down. Nice town but you pay for the view on the water. 366 square ft is too small when you are staying there with your husband and pup.

Great little cottage

The cottage is very convenient to Sandy Hook beaches and Long Branch. It was walkable to really good restaurants/bars. Neighborhood was quiet but you need to be prepared for the bridge noise (not completely unexpected due to the proximity). The cottage could use a little TLC (fresh paint inside, new shower curtain and a couple of window blinds replaced) but all-in-all a great little place.

Lovely stay!

As others have said, the cottage is very clean and very comfortable. The location is stellar too! Larry and Gary were extremely responsive. We all had a lovely time and cant wait to return!

Great cottage

We had a wonderful time. Place was spotless. Dog friendly. Area is wonderful and easy to access other beaches. Check in and check out was seamless. Communication was spot on! Would highly recommend !!

Adorable cottage in a great location

The place was exactly as described. Well appointed - everything you need is there. Nice Kitchen, comfy bed, and good sofa bed. Communication with the host was very responsive. There were no checkout details, so I hope we did it right! I would definitely come back to this spot.

Incredible location!

As others have said, this is in an amazing spot right on the water at the base of the bridge to Sandy Hook and Sea Bright. My husband and our 8-year-old son were very comfortable there, though space can get tight for more than two people. Super convenient parking and easy access for fishing and boating. Easy walk to restaurants and cafes. We went to Sandy Hook daily and were delighted that a park pass was included which makes a big difference with the $20 park entry fee. You can also walk to Sandy Hook if you’re not schlepping too much gear. Be aware that with a small dog beach/park and other cottages nearby, there are other folks around, nothing intrusive but it’s not entirely private. Overall a grear stay and we hope to come back soon!
