This property is cute and the decorations are nice and creates a great feel. Unfortunately we had a few issues that we could not ignore nor resolve. The kitchen had old food in the sink and dishes in the drainer that were not clean. Additionally the bathroom shower had mildew all over and the slimy orange look of dead skin. I contacted the host about this and he said the house is old and they can’t get it off. But we wiped the wall and the tub and a significant amount came off with a damp rag. I don’t believe they cleaned before we arrived and they don’t try to minimize the mildew regularly. We also encountered multiple “dust bunnies” with pet hair along the floorboards. The laundry was not accessible as they said the basement was under construction. On our third day we came home to new soaps in the shower, meaning whoever is living in the basement where the laundry is came into the house while we were out and used the shower and accidentally left their soap in the shower. The AC was also turned off that day. So we know someone entered the house while we were out which is never ok. Additionally, When we arrived the AC was off and the house was hot with stale air, being an old house this was not a great smell to walk into and since the AC unit is small, it took all night to get below 75. So not a great first night. Lastly the back bedroom bed was so squeaky we couldn’t move without a lot of noise. We had to change beds with our kids to be able to sleep.
