Escape to the mountains and make this cozy, fully remodeled studio condo your Mammoth Lakes retreat. Just steps from restaurants, bars, theaters, Vons, and local shops, this studio offers the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and charm.

Relax in the living area by the wood-burning fireplace with complimentary firewood in winter, or prepare your favorite meals in the full kitchen. Sleep soundly in a queen bed or queen sleeper sofa with a memory foam mattress, and enjoy free WiFi and a Smart TV (no cable) during your downtime. Well-behaved pets are always welcome for a small fee, so you can bring your furry friends along for the adventure.

The studio provides easy access to resort-style amenities: three Jacuzzis, a swimming pool in summer, two saunas, and onsite laundry facilities. Winter visitors can hop on the free Green or Red Line shuttles to explore the slopes and town—stops are just steps away.

Please note, this is a classic 1970s building with thinner walls, so occasional noise from upstairs may be heard. Winter months may limit natural light on the deck due to protective panels over the woodpile, and the unit has heat only (no A/C). Maximum occupancy is 4, and Saturday check-ins/check-outs are not available.

All in all, a great space for our family. Two adults, a teenager, and a couple of pups were as snug as a bug in a rug. We cooked breakfast and dinner every day and had everything we needed. The wood stove pumped out heat all evening and night long - wow! Walking distance to Von's and all of the bus stops were within two blocks of the house. Super clean and comfy spot and we would recommend it without hesitation to anyone looking for a humble yet very capable hamlet for your mountain adventures. Host was very approachable and available. We needed nothing for the 4 night trip and would come again anytime. Building was incredibly quiet. If there was anyone above us or next door to us we never knew it. Couldn't have asked for anything more :)

Just what we needed

We had a lovely stay. Everything we needed was available in the house. We loved relaxing and being so close to trails and restaurants. Love a place that is not only dog friendly but has a little basket of toys to make her stay enjoyable as well. Would definitely book again

Mammoth Lakes Trip

Our family were on our way to visit family in Reno Nevada and decided to make a stop at one of our all time favorite places. We decided to stay in a condo versus staying in a hotel. Mountain Shadows was a great choice. The location is very close to shopping and other things people come to Mammoth Lakes to enjoy. We had a very nice stay.

Rustic and homey

The condo was very rustic and homey. Upscale location. I was a little disappointed that the check in time wasn't till 4:00 p.m. and the checkout time was 10:00 a.m.Communications were excellent and the grounds were adorable. Had a barbecue and the lovely grass area. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Great little place in Mammoth!

We've stayed in a handful of condos in Mammoth and this one was perfect. Despite 10 ft. walls of snow, we had easy parking, enough space to store our gear for the weekend, and was just big enough for our party to stay cozy and comfortable.

Great spot

Overall, outstanding studio property. Close to everything as long as you have a car. Only complaint if there was one was the walls are alittle thin and you can hear people. Seemed like most shut it down by 11. I would for sure stay there again.

Great Romantic Getaway

I highly recommend booking a few nights at this nicely remodeled & very well maintained studio! Perfect for a romantic getaway or a fun trip exploring Mammoth with your pet : ) Very cozy condo which offers all the amenities of home & plenty of room to store your bags. Easy to book, great rates & conveniently near the market, restaurants, bus, anything you need : ) Perfect for Fall & Winter nights, as it came stocked with wood to enjoy nightly fires : ) Can't wait to go back & relax at this amazing studio.

Best Place to stay!!!

Everything in the Cando was great, Very welcoming The set up the accommodations are great 👍🏻 they even have Oneida flat wear. Pots and pans are like what I have at home nonstick. It’s very close to all shops it’s very convenient. Also there is mammoth creek close by, it’s a walking distance it was great for my kids to play in, it’s the Best area to stay in the condo again is very welcoming.

Great Place!

Our stay was perfect for myself and son. We were there for the motocross event and this location worked great. We were close to all stores, restaurants, and everything really. Many were walking distance. A very cozy place that would be also rad in the winter. Everything we needed we had and it felt like home right away. Everything worked, plenty of storage and blankets, and quiet too. Would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you for an easy trip.

Condo in Mammoth Lakes

At first we had difficulty locating the condo, but once that was resolved, we really enjoyed the condo features such as a full kitchen with a refrigerator/ freezer, a full sized coffee maker, microwave, easy access to kitchen trash can, etc. The adjacent units near us were quiet as well. The location was ideal for us as well.

Perfect Location and Size

Rented this condo to be close to family members who live in town. Perfect location for walking and visiting the town, shops, and eateries. Condo very modern, fully equiped kitchen and bathroom, comfortable bedding. Clean, clean, clean. Parking not a problem at the complex. Would definitely stay here again on next visit to Mammoth. Prompt communications from condo owner before, after, and during the visit. Good job, Michael!

Highly recommended for the right situation

This is a gem for those in need of a small space, and especially if they have a pet. Completely redone in a classy way, with obvious significant investment. Very clean (one of the cleanest places we have stayed - they clearly treat their maintenance crews respectfully). No indication of prior pets staying there. The kitchen was fully stocked with high quality plates, pans and cutlery; towels and linens are high end. We’ve stayed at a place that competes on VRBO directly in every category with this unit that was disgusting compared to this. This owner clearly cares about the condition of his unit, the other clearly did not.

Nice space....but...

We were torn for this review. The positives: location, nice space, great kitchen, price. Big negative: wood burning heater. When we received the detailed instructions on the space a few days before check-in there were instructions for the heat: small wall heater to take off the chill; wood burning stove as the main source of heat. We didn't fully comprehend the impact of this on our stay until we were there. The fire needs tending every hour or two, burns out overnight and you have to restart. The supply of wood was ample, but the newspaper, kindling and lighter mentioned in the instructions were missing. We eventually, purchased fire starters AND a working lighter to simplify the process. I did contact the owner by e-mail the next morning about the lack of supplies and he responded quickly, but by then we had figured an alternative, and he can't change the heat source of the unit. So, if you don't mind the heating aspect of the space, the rest is very nice. BTW, we have stayed in about 5 different places in Mammoth and this is the first time we have encountered this type of heat source.

Mammoth Summer Fun

Had a wonderful four nights in Mammoth at Michael's condo. Had everything we needed to cook meals and be comfortable. Michael was very responsive to questions/requests we had and we loved being able to take our dog with us.

Great Place for a Couple and dogs

This was our first stay at this unit and it was fantastic, the unit was modern and clean and very convenient. Loved the rack inside of the door. My wife said that this was the best stocked kitchen that we've stayed at. The instructions for the fireplace were great. I have struggled with these boxes before but the owners instructions made fire lighting easy. This place was great for us and our two dogs. The unit even had a snow shovel which we used quite a lot on this trip. We will definitely stay here again.

I have rented and stayed at Mountain Shadows for six years prior to buying D7. I found it to be extremely convenient and close to everything you could want. I love the aspect of being able to drive into town, go shopping, check into the condo and never have to get in the car again until it's time to leave. Especially in the winter during one of those famous Mammoth Dumps!

When I started visiting Mammoth in the 80's, I was hooked. Mammoth has everything and more to offer the outdoor enthusiast as well as casual vacationers. You could spend 5 lifetimes here and never see it all!
