Great home in Rochester for our family of five adults. Plenty of space for all of us- huge bedrooms upstairs, two full baths and a spacious kitchen with a table big enough for the whole family.

First the good things: 1. Location: especially if coming for Univ of Rochester related activities. Very close - 5 minute drive and food/restaurants etc. close by as well.2. Neighborhood: Very peaceful and quiet. Felt safe.Things Not so good:1. The house lacked any personality -- felt very stark and clinical. All the necessary stuff was there like required furniture etc. but no personal touches and the walls were essentially bare. Now some might prefer that but to me, one of the charms of VRBO is to experience the uniqueness of each place and that was not the case here.2. There were 2 large Trash bins - filled to the brim, immediately outside the entrance. Not only were those an eyesore but smelled really bad and they stayed there the entire time we were there. (probably issue with the cleaning service)3. The stairs from the front door leading up to the 2nd floor are very steep and narrow spaced. We were careful but that can be an issue with elderly people or people with small children. Can be at risk for falling and getting hurt. 4. This is probably a reflection of the cleaning services -- the bathrooms hand soap containers were completely empty. We had our own so did not bother communicating with the owner. I am sure if we had communicated -- that would have been remedied. Maybe he should look into that.5. The bathtub upstairs is in a very small space with sloping roof. Not enough space to stand and the shower curtain does not fit. Almost unusable.

Great spot for a weekend in Rochester

Jason was great!! Very accommodating! We were in town for a wedding and he let us check in early. He also was very amenable when we called him at midnight after my cousin locked us out and needed to get in. The house was great - very clean and in a cute area.

Family vacation

Four adult family members stayed for six nights. The house was very clean and tidy.The owners response time for questions was excellent. We never waited more than 3-5 minutes for a response to our questions, Nice neighborhood. We'll definitely be using the home again as it fit all of our requirements.Thank you Jayson for setting up a nice place to stay.

Nice clean place, but …

The house looked exactly as it was listed, and the property was nice and very clean on the inside. There were 7 of us and we selected this house because of the size with 4 good sized bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. However, outside 2 bags of trash had been left in the driveway and were torn apart by animals, so garage was strewn about. When I text the property manager about this upon our arrival, he told me that he would have the cleaner come by “after” we checked out. Someone did come by and put 1 bag of trash in the garbage tote, but left 1 bag and the other trash still on the ground. Upon further examination I saw lots of trash around the whole house that looked to have been there for ages, so no one was taking care of the outside, which is too bad because it’s in a very nice neighborhood. Lastly, all of the beds were the hard foamy kind and not that comfortable for us. Difficult sleeping. We would not rent again.

Great stay!

Property was easy to access, well maintained, and the host was very communicative. Came up with some former Rochester friends for a wedding. The place was centrally located and perfect for our needs. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent home base for whatever you have planned

Spacious and newly renovated, we were pleased with the property and very pleased at the responsiveness of the manager. It was and excellent value, especially for large families/groups!

Cozy in the winter

Stayed for a winter weekend to see my son’s performance. In a cold weather it was so warm and cozy with individual temperature controls. Conveniently located to all of Rochester by car less than 15 minutes to all restaurants, shops and theater.

Perfect for our needs!

Jayson's place was newly renovated, spacious, clean, and well appointed. It had everything we needed for a soft place to land in the evenings. And walking distance to local bars! We would stay again!

Perfect property

Booked this property for me and my mom to stay while we visited some family in the area. The check in was very smooth, and the house was exactly as pictured. This is an older home which has been very nicely renovated and updated. It is in a quiet residential neighborhood but is also walking distance from various shops and restaurants in the South Wedge area. It is also right around the corner from Mount Hope Cemetery. The house was spotlessly clean and perfect for our needs. The kitchen did have basic cooking equipment plus cooking oil and salt/pepper, although we chose to go out for most of our meals to experience local restaurants that we don’t have at home. This was my first time using VRBO but will definitely use it again in the future. It was so nice to have our own rooms/bathrooms, but also be able to hang out together in the dining room and living room of this property. Much nicer than having a hotel room! Check out was also very simple and the host was very responsive when I sent a message to verify what we needed to do before leaving. We had no need to message the host during our stay, but I’m sure he would have been just as quick to respond. Thanks so much for a great trip experience!

Roomy home in central location

Our family of 5 stayed here for five nights and there was plenty of space for us to be comfortable. The home was very clean and in a good location - close to everywhere we needed to go and a nice neighborhood to walk around. The host was very responsive and easy to work with. New appliances, plenty of towels, easy check in and an over all nice stay.

Great house!

We stayed in this immaculately clean house for 4 days while attending funeral services for our sister-in-law. The house is better in person than the photos depict. It’s spacious, in a safe neighborhood, and the beds, bedding, and pillows are very comfortable. There are basic pots, pans, utensils, etc. in the kitchen to prepare simple meals, plus the added convenience of a Keurig, drip coffee maker, and tea kettle. Only salt, pepper, and cooking spray provided and I’m not sure if the owner provided some coffee pods or they were left behind by a previous guest. Lots of paper towels and toilet paper also provided, which is often not the case. Communication before, during, and after with the owner was awesome. Answered all my questions before and quickly responded to a couple of questions during our stay. I highly recommend this property!!

Family stay for long weekend: Eclipse 2024

We loved this place! Cute, quaint, yet spacious.Three generations of family: Eight adults, including one toddler, enjoyed living together in one house. We had more than enough room to cook family meals, play games, and watch sports, as well as experience the 2024 Eclipse in totality even if the weather did not exactly comply! Nice neighborhood location, within walking distance of U of R, Highland Park, Mt. Hope attractions, and walking paths. Our host was extremely responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend!
