Sobre esta propriedade

4BR Sleeps 8—Bolton Valley Resort—Forest Sunset Views—Ski, Hike, Bike Steps Away

What guests notice first is the space. You come in on the upper level and the room opens ahead of you, with sliding doors and the balcony at the far end framing the forest — a full view across the room before you have set the bags down. It is a modern condo, impeccably clean and well maintained throughout, and it sleeps eight in four bedrooms, the most of any condo at Bolton Valley, with two full bathrooms and a half bath. Nobody queues, and two families can share it without stepping over each other. The lifts are a 2-3 minute walk.

The view west is the reason for the balcony. It faces Mount Mansfield State Forest across unbroken stands of mature forest, with nothing built in it and the sunset behind the trees. Below, a second deck sits among maples and birches close enough to hear a small woodland stream.

A day here starts in a kitchen with room to work. It is modern throughout, with a ceramic cooktop and the cookware, dinnerware and appliances to cook and serve a full meal for eight, and it opens into the dining and living areas, so whoever is cooking is still part of the conversation. A gas fireplace takes the edge off in the evening. There is a full-size washer and dryer in the unit, which matters more than it sounds like on a ski week, and the Wi-Fi is fast and unlimited — enough for streaming, video calls, or a full workday if someone in the group is not entirely off the clock. You come and go through a second-floor mudroom with storage for skis, boards and boots, so the wet gear never reaches the living room.

All four bedrooms are downstairs. The primary has a hardwood queen bed with storage drawers beneath, an en suite bathroom with tub and shower, and its own thermostat running radiant floor heat in both rooms — warm tile underfoot on a January morning. The second bedroom has a hardwood queen, and the third has two twin XL beds with storage below. The fourth is a room people end up fighting over: it has its own entry door and a sliding glass door onto your own ground-level deck, a sofa that unfolds into a full queen, and a 75-inch television at the foot of the bed. Kids claim it, then someone else watches a film in bed and reconsiders. Folded away, it becomes a second living room. Bedrooms two through four share a full bathroom on the lower level, and there is a half bath upstairs off the living area.

What makes the location unusual is how much mountain you get for how little walking. The lodge, the tavern and the lifts are a flat, well-plowed 2–3 minute walk, and at the end of the day you ski back to within that same short distance. Bolton has the highest base elevation of any ski area in Vermont and averages over 300 inches of natural snowfall, so it is often getting snow when lower mountains are getting rain, and it holds conditions through warm spells that soften other areas. It is also the only ski area in the state with lift-served night skiing, running Tuesday through Saturday until 10 p.m. under LED lights. Being 2-3 minutes away is what makes a twelve-hour ski day practical: ski until dinner, walk back, eat something hot, then go out again under the lights. Beyond the alpine terrain there is one of the largest Nordic and backcountry networks in the East, sledding for the kids, and live music and a fire in the tavern when everyone has had enough.

The place earns its keep the rest of the year too. Spring holds late-season corn snow longer here than at lower mountains, with sugarhouses running through March, streams full with snowmelt, the lowest rates of the year and the quietest the mountain ever gets. In summer the trails behind the condo connect straight into Bolton's backcountry network, Mount Mansfield State Forest and the Long Trail — the country's first long-distance hiking route and the model for the Appalachian Trail. Bolton has invested heavily in downhill mountain biking and now draws riders at every level, from flowing beginner terrain to jump lines to steep technical black-diamond descents, with lift-served laps that mean more riding and less climbing. Come fall you get Vermont foliage without the Stowe traffic, on foot from the door or from the Vista lift and the fire tower at the summit, looking west across Lake Champlain to the Adirondacks, south toward Killington, north to Mount Mansfield and east over Waterbury Reservoir.

None of this means giving up the rest of Vermont. Burlington and BTV airport are thirty minutes away, Waterbury and its restaurants and craft breweries twenty, Stowe forty-five. You can land at midday and be on the mountain the same afternoon, and still have somewhere serious to eat and drink within a short drive. The same proximity makes the condo a natural base for weddings at the Bolton Valley hotel or The Ponds, both a short distance away, with room for a gathering to get ready together and somewhere to land between events — or for weddings in the surrounding towns, turning a one-day occasion into a weekend.

Guests have the entire condo to themselves. Two parking spaces are included, with an overflow lot a short walk away, and the access road and parking lot are plowed thoroughly and often. Lift tickets, passes and resort facility access are purchased directly from Bolton Valley, either online in advance or at the on-site sales points when you arrive.

A few practical things. Night skiing normally runs Tuesday through Saturday, with no night operations Sunday or Monday, and hours can vary in the opening and closing weeks of the season and around holidays. The Vista lift runs for scenic rides on a seasonal schedule, so check resort hours before planning a summit day. The lower deck sits at ground level and opens onto the complex's shared lawn. The mountain road climbs steeply, and winter storms can slow travel — all-wheel drive or snow tires are strongly recommended from late November through March. Pets are not permitted under condominium bylaws, and there is no EV charging on site.
