It is surrounded by the most peaceful setting perfect for unplugging and reconnecting! Your days are filled with hammock swinging, porch sitting and hiking trails while the nights are spent star gazing around the fire pit under the canopy of lights.

This retreat was thoughtfully designed to be a space where life really can slow down and lasting memories in nature can be made! It is all inclusive with a fully stocked kitchen (see photos) plus complimentary smore's/hot cocoa station, firewood/firestarters and coffee and tea stations! Absolutely the most beautiful and well stocked home Iā€™ve ever rented. The host was so thoughtful and efficient in communicating directions, instructions, recommendations and reminders. Loved the scenery, shopping and dining in all the small town mom and popā€™s businesses. If youā€™re wanting a break from the hustle and bustle, traffic jams and waiting in lines this is your place! You will not find a nicer host nor a more welcoming home.

The Little House on Monteagle was wonderful! Girlsā€™ reunion for friendship of ever 37 years. Hiking, cards, dominoes, meals and Saturday SEC football on the back porch, bonfire and lots of snacking! Clean, beautifully decorated, responsive host and perfect getaway! We didnā€™t want to leave!

Top rated for cleanliness! I am particular about the cleanliness of a property when I travel and I found this place to be very clean. The home is lovely and well appointed. The beds were comfortable and everyone got a good nightā€™s sleep.

Tiny House Stay

This tiny house very spacious for 6 adults.Outdoor campfire area with Sā€™mores made for enjoyable evenings. Clean, classy and had everything you needed for great stay. Located in gated community. We felt very safe.

Cutest Little House

This is a super cute little house. Because it is so small, having good weather so you can enjoy the couches and dining area on the covered porch is so important. It was chilly and rainy most of our entire stay, so we didn't get to enjoy the porch nor the fire pit, but we imagined it would be fabulous with better weather! Our only request would be to improve the bed pillows!

The best VRBO I've stayed at

This home is perfect. The property is gorgeous! The house is clean and cute and so comfortable. There is a fire pit complete with a full s'mores set. The coffee bar is like you're at Starbucks. Every little detail was thought of. Morning coffee on the wrap around porch was a dream. The beds and pillows are so comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and there's plenty of towels, blankets, etc. There were six adults on our trip and we could have easily had 8. Plenty of table space, cute living room. I can't rave about this house more! The owners were prompt in responding and allowed us early check in. We stayed here so we could attend the Caverns for a concert, and it was the perfect distance. We hope to stay here again next year!!

Family getaway

We enjoyed our time at this tiny home. The house was decorated perfectly and very clean. We had everything we needed. We liked the location and enjoyed touring the caverns close by and hiking. We also enjoyed visiting Hanks for dinner and trivia.

Quaint and quiet gated community. Well appointed house with most necessities. Fire pit stocked with wood, outdoor spaces with plenty of seating. TV in every room and outside on porch. Close to hiking!

Best place yet

Stayed in the tiny house for a few days after staying in several others in the area. This one was the best overall tiny house we have stayed at. Every detail from firewood to smore ingredients to q-tips was provided. House is immaculate and very nicely furnished and equipped. Will try to use this one every time I come down. Owner gave very good details alfor checkin and checkout, and even sent extra coffee creamer. GREAT rental unit

Wonderful cozy spot!

Went for a long weekend with sister and daughter. I have to say this was the best equipped homeā€¦ the kitchen was so thoughtfully stocked with essentials and beyond. (You know when you stay somewhere and they give you ONE dishwasher pod? ) This is how it should always be done! Other touches that were above and beyond were the soft and luxurious bedding in each room plus snuggly throws and pillows in living space. It was freezing and drizzly so we didnā€™t get to enjoy the outdoor spaces but the seating areas and fire pit were so inviting. We look forward to returning soon!

Fantastic House and Lovely host

A group of four of us (friends) stayed at the Little House on Monteagle to attend a couple of shows at the Caverns. The house was absolutely beautiful. Every square inch was meticulously decorated and clean. It was by far the best-appointed property at which we have ever stayed. The host was incredibly responsive. We would definitely stay again.!

COZY & BEAUTIFUL

I have been renting through VRBO for many years and this is by far one of the cleanest, most beautiful homes yet!!! The owners have packed this tiny home full of absolutely amazing amenities and decorated it magazine perfect!!! You could not ask for more in a rental property. The outside setting is also super cozy from the huge porch with comfy sectional, picnic table, and swing to the beautiful fire pit area. You never feel unsafe or uncomfortable in the quiet, gated community. The owner is an absolute joy to communicate with as well. She is so incredibly helpful and kind! Definitely a special place where tons of great memories were made. This place is a blessing for sure! If you are looking to get away from all the chaos and want a place to relax and enjoy the momentā€¦.this is definitely the place!!!

Perfect Fall Break

My son and I had a great stay during fall break. The home is in a perfect location for exploring the area and taking advantage of the hiking trails nearby. We had all of the comforts of home and had the best time making s'mores and playing cards by the fire pit. We hope to come back again!

Tiny Cabins Rule!

This was my first experience with the "tiny" concept; I was happily surprised. This cabin didn't make me feel cramped at all. My family of 5 fit in nicely. The house was immaculate. The Game Room loft was great for my kids (all below 10 yrs old). The hosts provide renters with several extras that I have not recieved at other VRBO locations. My kids loved the s'more package. Getting to the house was a little rough for us (at no fault to the hosts). The hosts knowingly and graciously sent great instructions in an email about how to search for the house on gps (you just need to read them before putting the address in and going...yeah, don't skip this step.) My one negative (sorry): there are a lot of rules/instructions. It is hard to digest and remember them all (for a 2 night stay)--especially, while in vacation mode. I'm a rule follower and I had this constant fear trying to remember if we might be breaking a rule the whole time we were in the house. I did forget an item off one of the checklists (a cardinal sin in my book) and informed the host. They were very gracious to me and told me not to worry about it. Even with all the rules--let's face it, you need them or renters will distroy your house--I still give this location and hosts 5 stars. Like me, I think you and your family will be pleasantly surprised with this tiny cabin.

Tiny Home Heaven

This was the absolute perfect place to stay while visiting the University of the South. The tiny home was incredibly well-appointed and immaculately clean. My children (teenagers) enjoyed the loft area with the games, and the welcome S'mores station was adorable. We enjoyed the fire and the huge porch. Beds were very comfortable....it truly felt like home. The owners were helpful and responsive, and even gave us ideas of what to see and do so we could plan. Absolutely gorgeous area. We'd love to go back!

The little house on Monteagle was exactly what we needed. The house was super clean and in a perfect location to hike and visit the Caverns for a concert. The neighborhood was so peaceful. We would definitely stay again.

Monteagle is such a special town from the people to the abundance of nature to explore and all the beauty of the mountain scenery-- you can feel how quaint and special it is from the moment you arrive. It's a simpler place that we all need a chance to experience from time to time. Staying at The Little House is a convenient, central location just minutes to state parks full of hiking trails and waterfalls, antique shopping, wonderful local eateries, The Mountain Goat Trail and even our 2 gated sister communities (The Retreat at Deer Lick Falls and The Retreat at Water's Edge) where you will be provided gate codes to go and explore all the amenities which include playgrounds, more hiking trails, pavilions with fireplace and a lake. Our community, The Retreat at Sunset Bluff also has hiking trails and community firepits, but please keep in mind our community is not fully completed - there is much more to come!
