Prior to our arrival the host was very helpful, communicating the layout and amenities of the location. Upon arrival we had a great deal of difficulty getting the front door open - we followed the instructions for the lock, but the door latch needs repair and we had to struggle each time we tried to open it. There were several spots where the cleaning staff had not done a great job - dirty counters, sticky coffee station, used paper towels left out - but the house is well decorated, has several good areas for gathering, chatting, hanging out. The kitchen is well-stocked and has nice appliances such as a combo coffeemaker and an airfryer. Our biggest issue was around the stairs to the basement, where there's a rec room and full bath. The steps are very uneven and the carpet is quite slick, and on our first day one of our party members slipped and fell down the lower set of stairs, injuring his hip and elbow. He's quite fit and athletic, but was completely unable to stop his fall, so we felt that the stairs wouldn't be safe for others - this left us short a bathroom. We've communicated our issues with the host after our stay but received no reply - the front door is a clear issue and the basement staircase is unsafe. It's a shame - this is a nice house otherwise, but those two problems marred our stay.
