It was warm and cozy place, tucked away and private onlooking a lovely golf course, that was a perfect getaway with friends. The owner Trent was super nice and resourceful, ensuring a smooth stay. Loved the stay.

We had a memorable trip to Shanty Creek! The home was perfect for our extended family getaway. Fully stocked kitchen, plenty of seating, and the beds were uber comfortable. Scenic morning coffee views, overlooking The Summit. Golf was top notch! Jordan river was a quick trek and a much needed cool down after 18 holes. We look forward to returning!

Best Location!

We had a wonderful trip to and couldnā€™t have picked a better place to stay. The location was perfect and the amenities were awesome! We were a very short walk to the outdoor and indoor pool which were so refreshing to use. The Beach club was amazing and a perfect beach for the kids to swim and play games. Now the house was beautiful and had space for everyone. Trent was absolutely awesome, he offered tons of information which helped us plan our stay. He even helped find us a marina for a boat rental. The outdoor space is perfect, right on the golf course with a private cul-de-sac. We couldnā€™t have picked a better property. We highly recommend and will be back!

Donā€™t hesitate, just book it!!!! You will not find a better host anywhere! The house was fully stocked with everything that we needed. We had plenty of room to spread out and plenty of room on the main floor to come together as a family to play games! The house is close to the pools, golf courses and town. It was slightly warm on the 3rd floor the first night, but the weather cooperated and we just opened the windows! The decks, fire pit and views are amazing from the house. We would definitely stay again! The house and the host are AMAZING!!!!!!!

Family Fun Perfection

To say this home was the perfect place to make wonderful family memories would be an understatement!! We had 8 adults and 5 children ( 4 years old and under ) We had plenty of room to spread out for naps and playtime as well as plenty of room to be together as a family. No detail was left unthought of. From the well stocked kitchen, we loved all the small appliances included( crock pots, griddle, coffee makers, blender and much more!! ) to the indoor and outdoor games! The back yard was wonderful for the kids to run and play and spend all their extra energy. The fire pit was nice for the adults to relax at in the evenings.The guys enjoyed a morning of golfing on one of the pristine golf courses. The proximity to the nice indoor and outdoor pool was great and the kids loved spending time there. We rented a boat for the day on beautiful Torch Lake and it was just a short drive to that and many restaurants and attractions. There was also shopping close by. This stay exceeded our expectations and we are very thankful we choose this Shanty Creek resort for our family to play, relax and make tons of memories to last a lifetime!! The host Trent was VERY responsive and wonderful to work with as well making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay!

Very clean house

We had plenty of room for 11 family members. Place was well stocked with pots, pans and table ware. We went up to use the pool at the Lake View hotel. It was really nice, but they do not give out towels to non guests of the hotel. The towels for guests are provided in their rooms. So, I would bring a beach or other towel if you plan to use the pool. Had a nice stay.

Family Vacation

The only reason not a 5 star review is the statement of air conditioned is very misleading. There is only one bedroom that is air conditioned. During a hot summer week the other 4 bedrooms were uncomfortable to sleep. Otherwise the property had all the amenities to create a wonderful vacation. Trent was very responsive and communicative with any concerns and in fact was proactive in telling us about the previous renters and additional time being needed to clean the unit.

Greetings to our guests, and we welcome you to our Shanty Creek / Schuss Mountain home! We grew up in Michigan and have come back - where so many fond childhood memories were made. Now, we are excited to begin making some memories for our children, and yours, too! After a long career in professional baseball, it has been great to return to our home state. Our five kids love the area and they are so active that it keeps us young...ok, the hair is gone, but I feel 21. We are so excited to host family and friends. Our home is large enough for many people to feel comfortable and uncrowded with big open spaces and vaulted ceilings, yet the fireplace and architecture can provide a quiet and comforting atmosphere.

Our young family had visited the area to visit my sister and her family, who also own a home in the Shanty Creek/Schuss Mountain Resort. We were in awe every time of the superb value and how much was offered to do for us and our kids. Since both of us are from Michigan, we decided it would be a great idea to promote our 'home' state with all the great hospitality the people provide and the natural beauty of Northern Michigan. We also wanted to provide a place that people would want to return to again and again. We think we have accomplished that in this lovely home.

There are SO many things to do, we simply always run out of time and we just can't do them all. In addition, each season provides new things to see and do, and it makes for a fun place to visit and stay in ALL seasons. We love to snowboard, ski, golf, swim, boat, and snowmobile -- we can do them all here. Plus, my son's forced me to buy the place as it would serve the one's quest to be a pro fisherman, and the other's to be a pro golfer!...just kidding. Come visit and enjoy your family and friends. Many great memories can be made here, and we feel blessed to be a small part of all your lives.
