It's time for slowing down in style, and here in SoCo, everything seems to suggest that you take your time. The thoughtful, easy essence of southern hospitality is embodied in this log cabin, and as its namesake might imply, you can easily forget everything that occupies your mind. Get lost in the woods, or lost in your thoughts. Rock slow on the chair by the crackling fire, or with someone dear on the front porch swing. Finally, you've got the time. Drink in the peace and quiet of a star-lit night while soothing away all that ails you in our outdoor hot tub. The cabin's too big to fit in a bottle, but you can take the memories of your time here everywhere you go. And you can always come back, when you need a little more... Southern Comfort. This cabin includes free wi-fi, a basement family room with shuffleboard, a tv and futon for two, and for those who like to mix a bit of competition with their frisbee, Frisbee Golf, a mountainside Frisbee Golf Course! Great cabin and location

Great find! My kids loved the outside space and the trails leading to various frisbee golf holes. They found new holes every day! The Hot tub was perfection. Shuffleboard was also a hit for the whole family! The Only small note is that there are no chairs around the fire pit. There were some stumps but they were not comfortable for long. Plan to bring camp chairs if you want to sit by the fire outside and stargaze.

Great place to stay

The down side was the lighter didn't work, there is not enough outside lights on the porches, and the nest heating control not a soul knew how to function it including the staff so we froze both nights..

Great Cabin

My wife and I have been to this cabin several times in the past, but it has been a few years. It is the perfect cabin for us and no issues. The condition of the cabin is very good, with only a few minor items. Excellent location and very comfortable.

Just Right

I’ve been visiting this cabin in the fall with friends and family for years. It’s always well-maintained. The hot tub and grill great, as is the layout and fire pit. But, the spectacular aspect of the cabin is its serene placement on the mountain. Looking forward to my next visit.

Pleasant weekend

We were late booking and missed out the cabins with a view. However 'Southern Comfort' was exactly right for us in space and amenities. we enjoyed our stay!

Good layout, location and fun & games access.

Location was very good so we could drive or walk to our family’s other rented cabin. Also disc golf course is very accessible from this location. Fun mini-shuffleboard in the basement along with extra sleeping areas if needed. Wood burning fireplace was a nice touch. Negatives. Several small black bugs, mostly dead already were apparent. Minor issue with lack of hand soap & clearly labeled dishwasher and laundry soap. Minor but would have made the stay a little better.

ANOTHER GREAT STAY / GET-AWAY!!

A perfect long weekend,!! Plenty of wood, nice cold weather, football and a clean cabin makes for a perfect weekend. Thank you! Special Thanks to Josh who coordinated and ensured we had plenty of firewood to get us through the weekend. See you all in a few months!! Gerard & Ceci

Road to house

The gravel road to house is hazardous and I would not rent the house again due to that fact. It’s a 1 vehicle path with tragic going both ways

Disappointed

Home smelled like a fire pit. Lots of bugs on kitchen counter. Ants on hot tub. No toaster. Furniture in family room and outside not set up for more than 2-3 guests. Take garbage with you disappointing considering we pay for cleaning service. Minimal supplies, especially bathrooms.

Stay was fun but cabin was dirty

When we first showed up we could not get in the door because the code had not been changed to what we were given in our email. It's a good thing we showed up before 5pm, because if the office was closed not sure how we would have gotten in. Also, the cabin was insanely dirty -- there were dead stink bugs all over the floor and several of them in the freezer. One was actually frozen into an ice cube. There was also trash in the downstairs bathroom that was not ours. In addition, the hot tub had not been treated with chlorine before we got there, so upon lifting the cover there was definitely a gym bag smell. Luckily, we bumped into the owners on a walk and they gave us chlorine tablets from the garage. In addition to all this, the wifi information provided did not work. Again, since we bumped into the owners we were able to get the correct info. We love the location of Lydia Mountains and have had much better experiences with cleanliness in the past, but this one was just gross.
