The newly renovated and upgraded Sunset Cottage is a charming single story vacation home located in a quiet and exclusive residential hillside neighborhood in the Village of La Jolla (Country Club Golf Course). From the deck, living room, kitchen, and master bedroom visitors can enjoy a breathtaking 180 degre ocean view that creates unforgettable moments and pure relaxation. Within walking distance is the La Jolla Cove, a protected Natural Reserve, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. An additional half mile more guests can enjoy the La Jolla Shores offering additional activities, such as kayaking, surfing, paddle board and more.
The master bedroom has a private bath and is equipped with a Cal-king size bed. The 2nd bedroom offers a queen-size bed and an electric fireplace. There is also a single rollaway bed and Queen size air mattress available. Upon request we can provide a crib and high chair. The fully equipped kitchen has granite countertops, new appliances, washer/dryer and air conditioning. When sitting at the dining table, visitors can enjoy the ocean view and breathtaking sunsets.

Our 'Sunset Cottage' has been completely remodeled. The comfortable living room offers a 50” plasma TV with cable TV. Both bathrooms are recently remodeled. Washer and dryer and WiFi are available. We have added A/C!
There are NO steps whatsoever and the doors and hallway are wide.
We are perfect to accommodate elderly and handicap guest.

Nice view from deck. Convenient location and everything you need in the house which is one level with senior friendly floors. A little cold in the master bedroom with door closed at night even though it was fine in the living room.

What a view!! Girls trip. Two of us. We did not cook or do laundry while we were there. The home is beautiful and immaculate, the beds comfortable, the showers great! The host was easy to communicate with! Did I mention the view?! My only piece of advice is that if you walk into town, you might want to Uber back! That hill was a little tough for us to climb! Maybe nexttime we’ll bring our husbands!

Great views throughout the entire home and with a private balcony to enjoy them! Easy parking. Easy checkin/checkout. Walking distance to food, drink, the cove and tide pools. Easy to take a run along the coast and a trail with a view up the hill. Quick and easy communication with the host. Would recommend and return!

Francis was a lovely & thoughtful host, checking in on us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. His home was so clean, bright and comfortable, with beautiful ocean views, a well stocked kitchen for cooking light meals, and a clothes washer & dryer - perfect for active guests and longer stays. My husband and I love to walk whenever possible, so we were happy with the convenient walking distance to local cafes, restaurants, grocery stores, and downtown La Jolla, as well as the La Jolla coastal trails and beaches. We also loved the ocean view deck for enjoying Al Fresco breakfasts, and sunsets after a day out.

Lovin La Jolla

Stayed at this beautiful beach cottage up in the hills. The view and neighborhood are gorgeous. You can walk to town. Stayed a week and didn't want to leave. So many great restaraunts in close proximity. Stunning sunsets every evening.

Inviting with character.

The place was easy to find. Fantastic view overlooking La Jolla and the Pacific ocean.Very clean and comfortable. Located close to all amenities. Very wonderful stay. We would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Wow - great view!

The property was in a great location for us and the view couldn’t be beat! Perfect sunsets every night. The property was as described and the host was very responsive. Check-in was easily and the host provided ideas for day excursions. Lots of great restaurants nearby, though the kitchen is certainly well-enough equipped if you wanted to cook yourself.

Thank you for a beautiful short stay

My family and I had a fabulous long weekend at Sunset Cottage. The property is clean and exactly as pictured, communication from the host was prompt and friendly, check-in instructions were clear and complete. Wi-fi was fast and reliable, which was nice on the super foggy morning we were stuck inside. We appreciated the extensive area information provided in a binder. For those concerned that there is no dedicated parking, we were there on a holiday weekend and had no problems at all. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. I would 100% stay here again.

Incredible View, Delightful Accommodations!

We were in town for a quick weekend getaway. When we walked through the front door and took in the spectacular view, we knew we had made a great choice! The property is walking distance to shops, restaurants, and La Jolla’s famous sea lions. The cottage itself is spacious, comfortable, and contains all the kitchen supplies we needed to cook and dine well. Comfortable beds, lots of blankets and linens, and generous closet space. Just remember to pack your toiletries! We can’t wait to return. Excellent property and owners!

It's all about the view

Accommodations were good; the location and view were awesome. The kitchen is very well equipped and we appreciated the spacious refrigerator/freezer with an icemaker. You'll want to bring shower gel, shampoo and Kleenex.

The perfect spot with an amazing view

We had such a great weekend in La Jolla and this house was perfect for our family of 3! The house is so nice and spacious. Extremely clean and had everything we needed. The pictures don’t do it justice! Be sure to be there for the sunset every evening—it’s breathtaking!

Senior High School graduation trip

We are grandparents of a senior in high school, and this trip was planned by her. The location on the hill was ideal as we were able to walk gently downhill to all restaurants and activities that we scheduled. We chose to get an uber going the uphill route home at end of day. The cottage was very clean and nice. A second bedroom and bath was also ideal for our family. The kitchen was well equipped so we could eat breakfast and lunch there if we chose to do so.

Weekend in La Jolla

This property was perfect. Very close to UCSD where we had an event at the Mandeville Center. Three blocks away from the house that we rented 1967 when we first moved to La Jolla as children. Beautiful view of the ocean. Small porch where we had coffee in the morning, and I sat and played guitar in the evening.

Location, location, location!

Sunset Cottage is beautifully situated on a hillside overlooking lovely La Jolla. If you’re looking for easy access to San Diego and points north, this is the perfect choice. This family-friendly cottage has all the comforts of home, and has some nice updates. Big closets and lots of drawers give you ample storage for your things. The kitchen has everything g you need. And if you’re missing something, Pavillions is the local Albertsons affiliated store that has everything. And it’s only about a mile away. San Diego and its surrounds has so much to offer you probably won’t spend much time here. But, do enjoy your Birds Eye view of the spectacular sunsets over the Pacific, and be sure to head down to the cove and walk along the shore. This place fit the bill for our family perfectly!

Our intent is to provide a memorable vacation or get away. We are constantly trying to upgrade and add to our cottage. Most recently new A/C and heating system, a crib, booster chairs, and cuisinart coffee maker.
