This cabin was divine. Cozy but room enough — main bedroom plus a loft bedroom on the second floor. A generous main room plus kitchen, and a really nice smart TV for entertainment. Super clean and updated. The view … it’s all about the location and the view. Out the back door you are literally a few steps from the ocean — high tide and low tide, both spectacular for a walk out on the rocks. Every morning you wake up, pour yourself a cup of coffee, and just enjoy the tranquility. Watch the lobster boats go out, and the gulls and ducks, and listen to the waves lap at the rocks. Nearby, both the Milbridge House and Vazquez Mexican restaurants are really good, and the grocery store is only about 12 minutes away. Acadia is anywhere from 45 to 75 minutes away, depending on where you’re going in the park, I would absolutely stay here again, and recommend it to friends.

Wow! Those sunrises! That summarizes our feelings about this lovely cottage. Four adult family members spent a week there, and I can’t say enough about how beautiful it is. The property is very clean, private, and well maintained. Karl was a gracious host, willing to help us out if we needed anything, but it was already all there. We used the cabin as a base for trips to Acadia, Quoddy Head State Park and Campobello Island/Roosevelt Cottage, and a trip up to Jonesport to visit a dear friend and buy lobsters at the co-op there. We enjoyed walking the beach and looking for sea glass at the Pigeon Hill trail and at Roque Bluffs State Park. But honestly, the best part of our stay was sitting at the cabin and soaking in that view of Pigeon Hill Bay. We hope to make a return trip in the future. Well done, Karl, and thanks!

A true gem with spectacular scenery! The host was gracious and very helpful. The cottage itself is a delight. Well appointed with everything we needed including a supply of paper products. We enjoyed watching the tides change and the fishing boats head out to sea. Neighborhood was quiet and the setting very peaceful. Enjoyed the local hiking and easy access to Acadia National Park. Being right on the water was a real treat for this former New Englander. Great selection of books about Maine and helpful supply of maps and guide books. Definitely plan to stay here again. Highly recommend!

Great, peaceful place with close access to pigeon hill hike and Petit Manan. Internet was super slow to the point of being almost useless, but we were there to disconnect anyway. Very helpful and communicative host!

Quiet and peaceful

Truly an excellent location for peace and quiet. Sounds of water and nature. Amazing communication with owner. Can tell he takes pride in his location. Definitely coming back next August.

Perfect slice of heaven! Owner super easy to deal with. Setting is amazing! Need to travel little for restaurants cause it’s away from the hustle and bustle, very quiet. Bring some food and grill and buy fresh lobsters close to cottage.

Peace, quiet, beauty and charm!

There is peace here. It was waiting for us on the rocks by the water.There is quiet here. It came to us in the days and nights with the calls of the gulls, the bark of a seal and the water gently lapping on the rocks.There is beauty here. It captured us with every gaze out over the water in the colored speckled dots and the tree covered islands and that big beautiful sky.There is charm here. It greeted us with that perfect balance of creature comforts and rustic feel. There is thanks here. It grew in us each day we got to stay. A great trip and a great place just brimming with peace, quiet, beauty and charm. Thank you so much for making our stay fantabulous! - Ginger-Al

Piece of heaven

From the moment you drive in driveway you are hit with coastal view very few get to have.The cottage lacked for nothing...just bring food and clothes! All the items bbg,. Grill ,appliances,fixtures,linens all top notch. The cleanliness is above and beyond! The owner very responsive and sensitive to your needs.

Sisters getaway

The cottage is clean, well stocked, welcoming and in a magnificent location! The sunrises are breathtaking and watching the seals, fishing boats, and seagulls are so peaceful. The owner was close by if needed and left list great hikes and food nearby. Highly recommend this magical place!

The pictures on this listing do not do this gem justice. This cabin is just magical. It is hidden away in the woods, but with a waterfront view that is spectacular! It is quiet and relaxing. There is a flat rock just out on the water that I would sit on every morning and every evening and just listen to the water, the birds, and the fishing boats. It is so calm and just perfect. So much love has been put into this home. Highly recommend! We went originally with the intent to go to Acadia. It is just over an hour away from Acadia, but it was totally worth it. Would go back in a heartbeat!! Owner responded to all questions quickly. Seriously just a perfect stay. Book it!! You won't regret it!

My wife and I have been dreaming of visiting Maine since we were married 31 years ago and we were finally able to make that happen. I had great expectations when I booked. I will just say all of those expectations were exceeded in all aspects. Our stay was perfection! We needed to unplug in a peaceful and tranquil place and this delivered! Karl was an amazing host in every sense, going above and beyond for us during our stay. Grateful we were able to meet him in person. What a wonderful human being. Thank you, Karl! We will definitely be back and have recommended this place to family and friends. Hands down the most rewarding Anniversary Vacation we've ever had.

Hidden Gem

This is a great cabin located in a nice private setting, with the ocean literally feet from the door. We enjoyed our stay. It was so relaxing and we got to see the full Hunter Moon rising right over the ocean. The cabin was clean and cozy, and the kitchen had everything you could need. We enjoyed day trips to Bar Harbor/Acadia, Schoodic Peninsula, Lubec and Campobello Island. I would rent this property again in a heartbeat.

Great getaway

This place was totally amazing. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view was fabulous and the home was immaculate. We really enjoyed our stay here.I would highly recommend this place.

Perfect In Every Way

We've vacationed on the Maine coast for at least 12 years and this was by far the best ever. The property is newly renovated, located right on the water and central to many day hikes and day trips. Acadia National Park and Campabello Island Canada are two of the ones we did, with perfect weather for each. Communication with Karl, the owner, was clear and welcomed by each of us and meeting him personally was a bonus. A variety of wildlife was seen throughout the week while hiking, kayaking and driving with the sea life of seals, whales and dolphins being most memorable. This rates a perfect 10 and we're already planning things we might enjoy doing on a return stay. Loved every minute of it!

Comfy cabin, idyllic location, wonderful host

Brass tacks first. Cabin is great. Very clean and has all the necessary amenities for the entire family. Lots of windows flood the living space with natural light and afford amazing views of the bay and surrounding islands. Besides the seagulls and occasional lobster boat, the only thing you'll hear is the gentle lap of waves on the rocks outside. When it's time to tuck in at night, the cabin has books, TV, DVDs, and internet so you can reconnect with the outside world (should you choose) and the beds are comfy. The location is great, within a short drive of Acadia and Schoodic Point. If you don't want to drive, it's a short walk from the cabin to Pigeon Hill for spectacular views (you really must make the climb, it's awesome). If you need some hustle and bustle, don't miss out on Bar Harbor which is about and hour away. If you're hungry, there are a ton of take-away joints nearby and Milbridge has groceries. We had a chance to meet the owner of the property. We talked about the history of the property and were able to pick his brain about things to do and see. Speaking of which, if you don't get the chance to meet Karl...he has left plenty of information in the cabin to help you find attractions, food, restaurants, etc. (FYI, we invited Karl to visit. He won't just pop in unannounced if that sort of thing concerns you.) My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Steuben. We will be back to Pigeon Hill for sure.

Peaceful

This cottage is wonderful. The host has put a lot of consideration into his space. We felt welcomed and comfortable. The ocean view is incredible with small boats and wildlife. Nearby is hiking at Petit Manan and Pigeon Hill Reserve. Beautiful views and wild blueberries await. Cant wait to return!

Magical Maine

I cannot say enough good things about our rental. We stayed at the cabin vs. going to Bar Harbor just to enjoy the views of the water, watching the tides come and go, and watching the lobster boats. We enjoyed eating dinner at the picnic table and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. Don’t miss the opportunity to view the gorgeous and brilliant night sky as well as watching the sun rise. The cottage is well equipped and has thoughtful additions throughout. Karl is a wonderful host and checked in with us to ensure a wonderful visit and answered any questions promptly. This is a wonderful place to visit.
