COME DOWN AND ENJOY AN AREA UNLIKE ANY OTHER ON THE EAST COAST. Grab the family and drive your four wheel drive type vehicle to the edge of the pavement, shift into that four wheel drive or the AWD that you don't use enough, and set out for your family adventure up the beautiful sandy coast of eastern North Carolina. Experience the beach like it used to be for our great grandparents, wide open and free. **WARNING; After coming to this beach, every other beach you visit in your life will probably feel "crowded"** This area is also home to multiple bird sanctuaries and home to the wild Corolla horses, North Carolina's official state horses. These horses are believed to be descendants of wild mustangs brought over from Europe many, many years ago. They are absolutely beautiful animals and roam the area at will. Note: We hate added fees that some houses like to add at the end. We have heard from our past guests that they also hate these fees. Please keep that in mind when comparing houses. Linens, maintenance, cleaning, pool, and pet fee are already included. No nickle and diming here. We also rent Saturday to Saturday in the summer (May to September) so we can help as many families as possible enjoy the beach. Our house is located about 7 miles up the coast from the end of the pavement along one of the widest areas of beach in the area. We chose this lot because it is highly elevated and gives great ocean views from all decks. When you arrive at the house you will enjoy all the modern amenities of today plus some. This elevated semi-oceanfront (one lot back) home features eight bedroom (4 Master King Ocean view bedrooms, 2 Master Queen Ocean view Bedrooms, 2 Duo bunk Bedrooms). There will be no fighting over bathrooms as every room has its own master bath. (This saves so much tension when travelling with extended family or friends. We included this when custom designing the house as I believe this is a must have.) All the king and queen rooms also have direct access to deck with ocean views. ( Another must have with large groups. ) The sunrise is literally just outside your door. The large kitchen will make any Chef smile with joy with an over sized double oven, two dishwashers, two refrigerator/freezers and a wine fridge. Two icemakers for those frozen drinks also. When is the last time you cooked and had views of the Atlantic Ocean just out the window? No better coffee brewing view around:) The dining room is very well sized with seating for the entire family with windows that allow you to watch the sunset over the woodlands to the west. Bring some popcorn, because the kids will absolutely enjoy movie night with the family in your own personal big screen theater room. It can get pretty intense and loud though if watching sporting events. Mom and dad will love having the private pool and hot tub to relax in with the family without worrying about sharing it with anyone else. No community pool here! This house was built with the sole purpose of making family memories that last. The beach is a short walk down an unimproved easement directly in front of the house or we always hop in the car and tailgate for the day. Hanging out at the beach with the family is sooo much fun. There is some limited parking for a family member or two that do not have a four wheel drive vehicles for a nominal charge about 8 miles from the house. The beach and house are also very pet friendly. We absolutely hate pet fees and don't charge extra to bring you canine family member. Sorry, but no cats allowed. Pool is open March thru October. Please note all maintenance and cleaning fees are included. Once you visit, we truly believe you will be back like many of our previous guests. Even if you do not rent our house, you need to experience this area sometime in your life. We would love to help you make some great family memories.

Best house to stay in while enjoying the 4x4 beach. Amazing view of the ocean, the house was very clean and well taken care of. Our kiddos loved the pool and the many visits from the wild horses coming right by the house. We will be back!

Tremendous family week with substantial space for all (we had 15 people). Amazing to find a property with a separate bathroom in each bedroom. Movie theater room was a perfect compliment for our indoor needs. Access to ocean was easy. Loved outdoor pool and hot tub which got a lot of use.Tracy our host was very communicative and responsive to all questions.Great neighbor (John)!!!Thank you Tracy and if we ever decide on the Outer Banks again we will certainly be in touch.

The property was magical! Each bedroom having its own bathroom was just what we needed. We were 10 adults, three children and a baby. The beach was amazing. The pool and the hot tub were fun! The kitchen was well stocked with what we needed. The owner was extremely responsive and very friendly! We would do it again in a heartbeat!

An appropriately named family memory maker!This property has so much to offer its guests and sits just one block away from the beach. Since we were 4x4 newbies, we spent the first part of the week lugging beach chairs over the nearby sand dunes. We quickly learned our lesson and realized driving right onto the beach was definitely the best way to go!The home easily and comfortably accommodated all 18 of our family members. We made sure to take full advantage of every amenity, especially the pool, hot tub, and movie room. Plus, getting to see wild Spanish horses daily was an incredibly cool bonus. Highly recommend!

We were disappointed in the house. It was big but nothing like what was on the listing. The living room showed 2 chairs, there was one and the material was ripped and torn in the seat. The couch was broken down and dirty. The beds needs replaced as they all squeaked and cracked and the mattresses were extremely uncomfortable. No basic starter supplies like other houses we have stayed at. 1 towel per person. Ext. For the price we paid for this house, I expected we would much better furniture, cleaner, extra. All windows are dirty, dead bugs in window seals, Cobb website everywhere.

After talking to my cleaners, this review is ridiculous. The couch is 3 years old and did not have the huge stain on it before you arrived per inspection report and house inspector walk through. The beds are also 3 years old and we replace them every 5 years unlike other houses. Every house has 1 main towel per person. Most hotels are like that also. We clearly tell you also to bring all paper supplies and soap before you get to the house as everyone has their own preference and allergies. One chair missing was that big of concern? If the house was that dirty, why wouldn't you let me know before the day you leave? 10 minute cleaner fix. I really regret blindly giving you a 5 star rating before cleaner feedback. 99 percent of our guests are awesome and take care of the house and I wrongly assumed you were one of those people. Very disappointed.

The property is just as the hosts advertise. There is a lot to remember on the instruction list so read it carefully. If you stay at various VRBO locations every host does things their way. The Crystal Cove is packed with a lot of convenience and fun but doesn’t come with everything. Relax and enjoy your stay. The house is perfect for a big group

The house was perfect for what we needed. It had lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. The pool and hot tub was great. The kitchen had everything we needed. The homeowners were always available whenever we needed anything. You definitely need 4wd or a great AWD vehicle to get to the property but it was a great experience and everyone in our group loved the drive on the beach. We seen wild horses right out front of the house. It was a great vacation.

Beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Horses were magnificent to watch. House was awesome for our big family. Plenty of room. Very clean. Had everything we needed. Loved it!!!!Recommendation- need new towels. Trash folks never came to pick up trash. Also, never got a response back for getting water delivered. None of these Owner responded very quickly and was there if we needed anything.Highly recommend staying in this beautiful home and area.

Great house, comfortable decor. Great location, horses came right to the front door. Convenient to Corolla and the OBX. Easy walk to the beach. Perfect, quiet spot for our family to reconnect. Make sure to being toiletries, soaps, paper goods, kitchen and bath supplies etc, none provided.

Tracy’s recommendations for things to do and directions about getting on and off the beach were great! (Definitely follow his guidance vs google maps which takes you over a more challenging dune). The house was amazing and fit our group of 14 phenomenally. The kitchen is well equipped for just about anything you may need. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and cinema. The pool can get pretty sandy with the wind, but Tracy is very responsive if needed! Remember toiletries! We had kiddos with us and didn’t pack any so it made for an awkward first hour while some of them patiently waited for the Food Lion run before using the bathroom. Lots of sand toys and a few boogie boards which helped entertain everyone without having to lug things in. The horses love the backyard. We had rain the first couple of days and didn’t see any, but by the end the horses were in the yard several times a day. They can be curious so remember the 50 ft rule. The ability to disconnect and enjoy the simple things was unlike any other vacation we’ve taken. Even my teenagers were boogie boarding and flying kites. We spent hours on the beach with no one else within 1000ft of us! Highly recommend!

We had a lovely time! The surf was rough while we were there and we truly needed 4x4 vehicles! We saw lots of wild horses and enjoyed the beach, pool, and hot tub (even with the windy weather conditions)! It was truly a trip to remember!

OBX beautiful vacation

The house was very nice and the kitchen was well equipped for all our cooking needs. We had 18 people and the house accommodated us all. 4X4 Beach was truly an experience we will never forget!

Some of our favorites: wild horses, many times even in our yard, crabbing with string and chicken, beach, beach, beach, room to spread out and gather together for family games, comfortable beds, each with own bath, double kitchen utilities with double everything. This is a must for ones bucket list!

We have vacationed in this area for over 25 years and truly love this area. Our family has made so many memories in Carova over the years and we hope yours will also.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

We personally designed this house with a local architect to offer some of the best amenities and views around. Over the years we have vacationed here and chose one of the tallest lots and widest areas of the four wheel drive beach to build our house by. This house was build for the vacationing extended family to enjoy but more importantly to make memories that last a lifetime.

Not many places still left with star filled skies, wild horses, lack of hustle and bustle but still 7 miles from shops, eateries, go-carts, repelling course, grocery stores, and a beautiful lighthouse.
